Please do not go with this group of cowboys. We rented our property with them for one year and the experience was horrendous. Their electrician quoted £1500 for work, we then got the work completed be a different qualified electrician for £150. The staff were very rude and pushy towards using their own tradesmen, that’s if you could speak with a member of staff on the phone without them cutting you off. They have taken 2 months rent payments from our tenant who is a pensioner with limited funds, even though their contract has ended, we have been fighting to get this money returned for the past 3 weeks, with no joy as yet, even though they admit it is entirely their fault, they each blame different departments. Absolutely would never recommend this company.

My experience was not so great from start as it was really difficult to communicate with them via phone call. However, recently, I’ve had better experience with Helen and Linda. They have responded promptly to questions and issues I have as a current tenant and have been very helpful as well.

I rented a flat from Taylor, it's been over a month I moved out Taylors will not refund me my deposit, I have been calling and they keep telling me I will get it in 10days its over a month now, some many times they will not answer. Please people should stop using Taylors that deposit policy is a scam.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I would never rent from this or any other associated companies ever again and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
The experience I had from the time my tenancy ended until I had my deposit partially returned was nothing short of farcical. Their lack of communication and unwillingness to help or address any of my concerns made the process of moving significantly more stressful than it needed to be. They were far more interested in money, they have no desire to provide a decent service for their tenants.
I ended up losing a portion of my deposit for which was completely unnecessary cleaning purely due to the fact that I was given the run around from the day I moved out. Had I not reluctantly agreed this saga would still be ongoing and I wouldn't have had any of my money returned. They repeatedly lied about the reason for a sudden increase in this pricing, refused point blank to provide an invoice, refused to listen to any concerns I had and effectively refused to discuss anything until I threatened to seek legal advice. Only then did I receive a phone call. This person was unable give any reason or address any of my concerns, and could not tell me why I was unable to have any sort of invoice. They also lied that the landlord had contacted me when he had not. Even after agreeing to pay these (illegal) cleaning fees just so I could be done with the whole situation it still took a further email and telephone call to have my money returned.
Absolute joke of an agency. Avoid at all costs. If you do happen to rent with them take photographs of everything because they will use any excuse under the sun to keep your money.

Taylors Lettings of Northampton are the most atrocious, dishonest, incompetent buffoons I have ever had to deal with.
They will come up with every excuse they can to keep your deposit. My partner left her property of two years in a better condition than it was when she moved in, yet they attempted to keep her deposit in a way that breached their own contract. They lied repeatedly to try and achieve this. Like others have stated, they will use "cleaning" as their main excuse. They also tried to charge her for cutting the council owned grass at the front of the property.
One particular male member of staff acts like a bully on the phone. He is rude, unprofessional and just puts the phone down on you. He even made up a fake rate of VAT for a cleaning company that isn't even VAT registered in an attempt to justify keeping a large portion of my partner's deposit. It's worth noting that the person who owns the cleaning company in question used to work for Taylors Lettings, so make of that what you will.
There are many other reviews making these same claims, but please, if you respect your hard earned money then do not give it to these cretins. If you are already renting with them then make sure to document everything before you leave, and seek legal advice if necessary.

Made an enquiry on shared ownership in Northampton, agent took my details, and I got no call back for next 3 days.
Called back and agent remembered me, again he said he will pass on details to very busy team, now 1 week has passed and no answer.
Can you imagine going through a process of buying or selling with them..

Through Taylor, my family got a very nice residence which we still miss now. Very spacious and situated in the town accessible to shops, schools, the NHS, and transport. Lovely landlord. Had an appointment to view a property and when we arrived there were two other women who had arrived for an appointment half an hour earlier but no one had turned up. Tried calling the office but no answer and still haven't heard from them nearly six hours later. Doesn't bode well for anyone that does let from them

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I've had the WORST experience with this company. I put down a holding deposit over a week ago after viewing a property, myself and my partner have called, emailed, left messages countless times and the service has been APALLING! We never get a call back and no one has explained the process or what is going on. We've been trying to book a viewing so that my partner can also see the property whilst the checks are underway, you'd think it wouldn't be so hard considering I've paid a holding deposit! But a week later no one has booked him in yet! We've sent our documents to the branch manager and completed the vetting but have had no acknowledgement or communication, very unprofessional. They've taken our money and have treated us poorly as customers! 1 star is too generous for these crooks! Save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere!

Embarrassment of a company!
After cancelling our viewing on Saturday we were then told they would contact us to re-arrange which never happened. Called the office to get a viewing of the property which was confirmed by a member of staff.
On the day of the viewing after waiting outside the property for 15 minutes with no agent in site we called the office to be informed it was in fact our fault for not waiting for them to call back to confirm the viewing time which was never mentioned as we were given a viewing slot on the phone earlier in the week.
DO NOT DEAL with Taylors unless you enjoy wasting time.

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of knowledge and shameful professionalism displayed by the branch manager at Taylor's estate agent. My experience with this individual has been nothing short of a nightmare.
From the very beginning, it was evident that the branch manager had a limited understanding of contracts, professionalism and the law in general. Their lack of knowledge was apparent in their inability to answer basic questions about the properties they were supposed to be representing. It was clear that they had not done their homework and were simply trying to wing it.
Furthermore, the branch manager's lack of professionalism was truly shameful. They consistently displayed a dismissive and condescending attitude towards me as a client. Instead of treating me with respect and providing the necessary assistance, they seemed more interested in rushing through the process and making their point clear. Their lack of attention to detail and disregard for my concerns was truly disheartening.
Communication was another major issue with this branch manager. They were often unresponsive to my calls and emails, leaving me feeling ignored and frustrated. It seemed as though they had no interest in maintaining a professional relationship or providing the necessary support throughout the renting process.
Overall, my experience with the branch manager at Taylor's estate agent was extremely disappointing. Their lack of knowledge and shameful professionalism left me feeling undervalued as a client. I would strongly advise anyone considering using this agency to think twice and explore other options.
No response needed either, I was compensated as I had to take this to the property ombudsman who were much more helpful than a certain 2 individuals. Such a shame…

Having a few visits from other estate agents, we have decided to put our house on the market with Kishan at Taylors, he has truly impressed us how very sincere and patient was with all of our queries regarding the sale, this was one of the main reason we have went with Taylors over other agents.
Kishan has been highly professional & efficient throughout the whole process, he was always keen to assist, answered all our concerns and updated us regularly. Within 2 wks he has sold our house, even though completion was 9 months away he has managed to find a right buyer for us! He has made every effort with all conveyacer parties and went an extra mile by helping us to keep track with our new buy, his helpful attitude has definitely made a difference during the sale.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Kishan and the team for getting my purchase over the finishing line. I recommend these guys to every person and their dog who need an estate agent in the Northampton area! My purchase was complex and had a few twist and turns on the road to completion, but Kishan and the team were efficient, proactive and courteous at all times. They got the purchase completed and solved all issues promptly, with very little input from myself (exactly what I hoped for!). Communication was perfect with regular updates and regularly pushing the conveyancers to keep the purchase progressing. I couldn't have asked for more from these guys! Seamless from start to finish.

Always have the best experience with Taylors Northampton. My latest experience with property letting which was handled by Abi Caborn and from the jump Abi took a very professional approach to everything that we needed on this project.
She is always responsive by email or phone anytime you need to contact her and I was kept in the loop completely throughout the process.

Taylors have let and fully managed our properties since 2012 out of their Northampton offices. The tenants are very good in the main and renewals have always been turned around quickly. Helen Brock is our property manager and the service is professional with regular updates. We will continue to use Taylors for letting and property management, and from our experiences would recommend them to other potential landlords.

Recently moved into a rental property for let by Taylors. Have been incredibly patient, flexible and understanding with the limited free time that we are getting at the moment with regards to sorting out the move. Lucy especially has been fantastic and kept regular contact with us from about a month before we moved in all the way until now. They also have not hesitated to solve any problems we've had whatsoever. They've made a very stressful part of life, even more so during a pandemic, feel incredibly simple and stress free. We couldn't recommend them more!

Viewed property Fri 12 the told agent(maddalene)we were interested we arare in best position possible (,cash buyers)!!she said she would ring us Monday to catch up we actually sent email on Saturday for 2nd viewing which she didn't even bother to look at!!,then Monday today we saw sstc, on RM when I rang she stuttered &made some story up about the people after us viewing made an offer there &then!!! Mmm really???? I think not,as she couldn't deal with me because she knew I'd caught her out she passed me to her sidekick micha who was insistent the vendor's accepted the offer on the spot & how they work so hard for the vendor Mmm very doubtful as if she was working that hard she would have surely advised of 2parties interested which obviously wasn't done,these agents are very bad for the induindustry &it's the likes of these that give all agents a bad reputation you should be ashamed of yourselves!!!perfect position

I tried to call these guys so many times, but I had to drive to the branch and stand outside on the phone in order for them to even pick up. We loved one of their properties and had our hearts set on it, and we told the estate agent that we wanted to apply and place a deposit asap. When we didn’t hear back very quickly, we were told that the landlord wasn’t replying to any of their messages, only to find out a day later that the property had been ‘Let agreed’! They should have called us as soon as they knew that the landlord was replying and not kept us in the dark. We very almost declined another property in favour of this one, gladly we didn’t! Awful.

I started working with Taylors as a landlord back in February 2020, what a roller coaster year! The help, support and advice I received has been life saving! All of the staff despite having their own problems to deal with with branch closures looming over their heads performed tremendously.
Along with the banks mortgage holiday the team at Taylors helped with keys for tradesmen visiting the house to carry out works, took new photo's of the upgraded premises, posted a virtual tour and worked the marketing to locate a new Tenant even during the chaos of lock down.
Huge Kudos to Taylor's and the dedicated staff - Highly recommend.

When initially going through Taylors to move into our rented property, they were great and did all they could to help us. During our tenancy, they were impossible to get hold of, and when we did get through to them they were always very slow to respond or get anything done for us. When it came to moving out of the property, they really were not helpful. Firstly, we had painted the property and needed confirmation from the land lord we could keep it this way. 3 weeks after sending photos of the property to them, they had 'not heard' from the owner. It is my belief they didn't even send the pictures to the landlord. Secondly, after moving out of the property, we were told we would receive our deposit back within 5-7 working days, this was not the case. After 10 working days, we were yet to receive the money. We phoned them numerous times to chase the deposit and we were always either ignored or told if was 'on its way.' When moving out of the property, our new land lord requested references from Taylor's. We had a matter of 2 weeks before we moved out, and we had to chase Taylor for a good week before they actually sent the reference over.

We dealt with Luke Freestone who organised a house viewing for us. Upon arrival the agent had left the property due to the owner bolting the front door so no one could view the property. After calling the letting agency to complain I was advised that they hadn’t even booked us in even though Luke had confirmed our appointment via email. We were told our complaint would be escalated.
The following week Luke send my partner an email with customer data in it. It was a mistake but we had the customers name and email address which is a breach of GDPR. We stressed the lack of professionalism and asked how our complaint was progressing. We heard nothing for weeks. I feel this lack of courtesy deserves a realistic review. You wasted our fuel and time and you don’t seem to care.

very satisfied with the service I was provided by Taylor’s Northampton, I enquired about a property local to me and within a matter of days I was welcomed by a very lovely estate agent called Gina in regards to a viewing, she is a credit to the company as it has not even been a full week and I am already due to pick up my keys on the 24th of July with the work she has done on my behalf.
I wish her and Taylor’s estate agents the best of luck and would highly recommend Gina to anyone!

Appauling service and very unprofessional. I was renting a property with Taylor's and there was so many issues. Firstly I was always passed back and forth with Taylor's and Ashby Lowery. I reported having a mouse in the property and my property manager had said that it was health and safety so she'd sort it out without waiting for permission of the landlord. However she then admitted to me there was a mouse under a fridge in the property before I moved in, considering that it was health and safety like she pointed out I'm disgusted that not only was I not informed but they had even let me move in. When I left I had to ask every other day or every week about my deposit and was told they couldn't get hold of the landlord. It took nearly 2 months to get my deposit back. They clearly had contact with the landlord as they had moved someone else into the property when I left so clearly I was lied to. The washing machine in the flat was mouldy and disgusting but the landlord wouldn't let it be removed from the building, he had shoved carrier bags down the non existent skirting boards, there was no flooring under the washing machine it was balancing on a board, there was £55 debt on the meter when I moved in which took all night to sort out, the hot water tank was broken and wasn't fixed for a while and any issues Taylor's passed you to Ashby Lowery who passed you back to Taylor's, or you would just be ignored. Happy to get you moved in as soon as possible but as soon as you're in not happy to help with the issues that should be sorted before you even moved in.

This branch is beyond useless. Lip service is the only thing they provide, zero action for what you pay. As a landlord they provide incompetent service and the tenants suffer as a result. Laura Withington running the branch is a ghost who I'm surprised is allowed to be in management.
They merged with Countrywide and as so disorganised they don't understand what their own job roles are.
If you want to spend money for no service in return, these guys are the perfect fit for you.

They work in conjunction with another and say to call them or your landlord.
The other agency say to call Taylor's or the landlord and the cycle of incompetence can then repeat.

I have used Ashby Lowery for over 10 years now and in that time have had none of the problems that I had before this time when I used to find my own tenants.
Their referencing systems are sound and they always seem to find tenants quickly and provide a great all round service including inventories, viewings and all documentation.
I'll continue to use the team at Ashby Lowery there and am happy to fully recommend them to other landlords and potential tenants alike.

They did not take the time to respond to my rental enquiries. I am disappointed as I believed Taylors to be a reputable name.
Update: I heard from the Northampton branch, but they then ignored my response. The flat I was interested in has now been let. I regret to say that the service I have received has been dreadful.

Hello,
I was struggling to find somewhere to live in Northampton and I almost gave up. I went into Ashby Lowry and I was signposted to their sister estate agents Taylors.
I was welcomed in a professional manner by a lady named Amy who sat me down and actually took the time out to understand my circumstances. I was amazed that Amy was the first person in all the estate agents in Northampton to actually listen to me. Wether she could help or not wasn’t in my mind, but what was in my mind was that someone was actually listening.
That very day we arranged 2 viewings for the next day. My support worker and I arrived at the first viewing where we were welcomed by a lovely lady named Lily Remington. She was highly professional in all aspects and was very punctual. I knew from this viewing that the property was for me however we went on to view the second property.
I was not rushed or pressurised into making a decision and I was given the time to think about my decision before later calling Taylors to confirm which property I wanted to go for.
Lily was absolutely amazing alongside her colleagues throughout the whole process. Nothing was too much to ask for and we were made to feel very comfortable. We went through some hurdles to get the property due to some personal aspects of my referencing. However after a few days everything was confirmed. I was jumping and screaming with joy. I had finally found my perfect home which was a long time coming!
The landlords themselves alongside Taylors were very efficient in replying to emails and phone calls. From the beginning to the end Taylors were absolutely fantastic! They tailored to my needs and listened!
Therefore I would like to thanks Taylors for being so understanding and listening! You are a credit to yourselves and thrive in professionalism!
To anyone looking for a property, look no further! Taylors is the place to go!
A month on, I am now very settled into my new home and have never been happier! All thanks to Taylors! Just because I have now settled I still know that Taylors are at the end of the line and I can always count on them!

I have found Taylors to be helpful, patience, flexible about attending appointments and managing the whole process of finding a tenant, and reassuring me about how little I have to do as a landlady! They have worked well with the Sales team to give me time to make a clear decision about whether to sell or let my house, and have offered clear advice about this, which tells me I have made the right decision. They have local contacts and taken on most of the hard work in preparing my house for letting, which is such a valuable service.

They will do anything to sell you a property even withholding very important information from you.
The branch manager told me to shot up and didnt allow me to talk on a phone conversation. This is after i started talking politely and wanting to fully explain a very wrong situation.
He said there wasnt need for me to talk and shouted STOP TALKING.
At the end i let him talk and he did not answe accordingly to what i was saying because he refused to listen to me.
I would never trust any one in that branch, no one at all expexially the branch manager, hopefully he wouldn't be for long.

Drove all the way from South London for a viewing - waited 45 mins and nobody turned up, called their office several times and no answer. Thankfully I had another viewing with another agent the same day so the drive wasn’t a complete waste of time, but the very minimum I expect from a letting agent is to actually show up.

Tried to trick me into setting up a standing order a month early when i moved in, next 2 years were okay, then now with no prior notice, i come home to workmen in my flat, which they've left in a mess and gone through my personal possessions such as wallet, notebooks etc. Disgusted.
