Tenants and landlords look no further. You will not find greater professionalism, swift communication, industry experience and teamwork anywhere in Bath. Nicola Wilkes (Lettings) and Sharon Clesham (Sales) run a very slick operation and whatever your needs (a new home to rent or letting a new or existing rental property) they will guide you through the process to complete satisfaction.
I say this having been a landlord with them for many years and recently been introduced (by Nicola) to another investment opportunity. I am nothing short of amazed by the sleek communication between Sales and Lettings and myself (these ladies know more about property than anyone you’ll meet in Bath and they and their teams are a real pleasure to work with).
What I want out of rental property is a great investment but ONLY if my tenants are happy. I need them well looked after and at the top of my agent’s priority list. With the Apartment Company tenants are the priority. And yet this outstanding company deliver more financially to me than any other agent we’ve used in Bath. If you don’t make money, they don’t make money so its a win-win.
If you are a first-time landlord and considering a move to renting in Bath (but not sure the best way to go about this), talk to Nicola and Sharon. You won’t regret it. If I was buying a new home for myself, Sharon is the first person I’d call.
One final thing…..I noticed a comment that they didn’t always call back if you made an enquiry. Well, if you are Bath’s premier property agency and everyone wants to talk to you, well, yes, you may have to wait a day or so for a reply to a speculative call. No-one wants a company whose sitting about waiting for the phone to ring, do they?! You want an agent whose out there keeping it together for people like me, like my tenants (at the height of a pandemic with vastly reduced staff).

My partner and I just bought a home in Bath through the Apartment Company. From the beginning, Paige was very friendly in showing us around and answering all of our questions about the flat and area. We went back for a second viewing, and both times she was early and smiling.
When we put in our offer, Sharon immediately responded and we got an answer back with the acceptance within about 20 minutes. From there, Sharon as well as Christina who covered while Sharon was away were extremely helpful and guided us through the process. They followed up regularly with both sides to ensure we were all on the same page and aiming toward a quick completion (6.5 weeks in the end).
Up to completion Sharon also chased the solicitors on both sides multiple times when it was difficult to get a response from them directly.
Even after our purchase, everyone on the team kindly asked after us and wished us well with the flat.
Overall a great experience with the Apartment Company, and we would greatly recommend!

I purchased a flat from The Apartment Company last year and could not fault the service I received back then. Unlike a lot of Estate Agents, they were never too pushy and helped answer any questions I had as a first-time buyer.
Due to a change of circumstances, I have found myself as an 'accidental landlord' and needed to rent the property out, so I re-contacted them a few weeks ago.
As I have never rented a property before, the process was extremely daunting, however I would like to give a special thanks to Nicola & Georgie in particular for making the whole process much simpler and for putting me at ease throughout. I had no idea about the amount of legal requirements and regulations involved in being a first-time landlord, and they explained everything to me in a way that was easy to understand.
Not only that, but as soon as the property was marketed, Nicola managed to secure a tenant for the full market value rent within a matter of days, and as I am writing this review a few weeks after initial contact, tenants will now be moving in next week!
I could not fault the service I have received and would recommend The Apartment Company to anyone looking to purchase or rent a property, but also if you are looking to secure a tenant for an investment property in a short space of time.

They did not contact me at all about the issue and wouldn't give any assistance to understand fixes and timelines. Sharon Clesham, Branch Manager, is a pleasure to deal with as an Agent. I recently stayed at their Gateshead hotel with my 3 small children and wife to attend a wedding. The stay was horrible and beds were broken. We told the hotel about this and they said they were going to fix them. They didn't and after the 2 rubbish nights stay (as we were only there at night) the Apartment Company took my £100 deposit without authorisation and then took £300 in addition for the broken beds and blamed me for them !!!!
The Apartment Company. I am appalled and demand a full refund as the beds were broken before we got there as I have said repeatedly. I have been ringing your numbers constantly but you haven't replied to any of my calls and have fraudulently taken money from me.

They have a very good client base and understand what their buyers are looking for. Efficient and clear with everything, and the commission is worth it. We wished we had signed with them at the offset and not 7 months after having had no sensible offers with another agent.
Within less than a week we had two offers at the asking price.

From my first conversation with Peter to the last celebratory conversation with Sharon, the Apartment Company has demonstrated why its number one in its field. Within a day of being listed, emails were coming through notifying me of viewings. I had more viewings in 5 days with them than I'd had in 4 months with another agent. They really are active on your behalf contacting likely purchasers and recommending the property to their database. I'd accepted an offer within about a week. Giuseppe and I sought the assistance of Peter and his team at The Apartment Company, a few years ago when we were looking for a Tennant. They teamed us, very quickly with a great tenant. We were given sound advice that has kept us with our lovely tenant ever since. Thank you, everyone for guiding us, through the process.

I cannot explain how much I would advise against ever using this company for any of your property needs.
The whole experience from start to finish was ridiculously amateurish (particularly dealing with Jon and Laine). When deciding to make an offer for a rental property we had various emails ignored and would never be rang back despite being told we would on several occasions. After going to more senior staff this was eventually sorted but there is never a feeling anything is getting done without you holding their hands.
After thinking this may have been down to one employee we were then left in the hands of Laine at departure from the property and if anything the process was worse. Rude emails accusing us of leaving the apartment in bad condition when I had taken pictures and documented the state it was in, a constant lack of communication (after being told we would receive our deposit back within 2 weeks it took over 2 months for this to happen) and frankly a lack of any drive to get stuff done.
After these two months had passed we were luckily dealt with by Sharon who sorted all of the outstanding issues within a week, and thanks to her for that.
Despite this they are still hands down the most rookie company I’ve ever dealt with and to call themselves the ‘Apartment Experts’ is a laughable statement.

I note that several people have complained about the level of service from Jonathan Butt, and I would like to add my comments. Mr Butt showed us three properties to rent, of which we chose one while looking for a place to buy. At that point, things started to go wrong. Mr Butt told us that the rental price listed on Rightmove was just the lowest price and could we offer more. Feeling that this was at best misleading and at worst underhand, we said we'd offer what was listed. Mr Butt said he'd check with the landlord and let us know.
When we heard nothing, we eventually contacted him and he confirmed that the landlord had accepted our offer. We agreed to come into the office the following day (a journey of 30 miles) to check over the lettings agreement before signing. However when we arrived, we learned that it was Mr Butt's day off, a fact he had failed to communicate to us. A pleasant man from sales was sympathetic and offered an appointment with the head of lettings an hour later. We duly arrived, but after waiting 10 minutes for this woman to show, we decided enough was enough and left the office. She did have the grace to call a while later, and we asked if she could send us a sample lettings agreement by email for us to check over. That was the last we heard from this company. We eventually called in at Stonier Hobbs, who had no problem printing their lease agreement for us, showed us two properties, of which we chose one and have been happily renting for the past six months.
Why the big difference in quality of service? One reason might be that The Apartment Company does not belong to the Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA). ARLA agents subscribe to a code of practice that protects tenants' rights and sees fair play in general.

I have rented property twice in bath and once in London over the last 4 years and I can happily say that The Apartment Company are the worst agency I have dealt with.
From the very first time we contacted them they were rude to us, even tried to cancel our viewing with them last minute.
Once our tenancy ended the agency and landlord took 7 weeks to get back to us regarding the deposit. During this time they were incredibly rude to us and kept saying that they were carefully deciding on the proposed deductions and we would have them by the end of the week. This happened every week until they stopped replying to us.
They then tried to take over 1300 of the 1800 pound deposit we put down of which almost 500 pounds was for cleaning (by the way this is a tiny 3 bedroom UNFURNISHED apartment).
We appealed and decided to go through an independent review with DPS. After the review was completed we ended up with 1000+ pounds of our deposit back (as opposed to less than 500, which the agency / landlord originally decided on). They had claimed over 100 pounds for removal of rubbish and broken glass OUTSIDE the property of which they provided no evidence of this, apart from a photo of a fold up chair dated 9 days after the checkout.
To get the deposit deduction so wrong after they spent weeks carefully preparing them is unacceptable.
I would not recommend The Apartment Company to anyone.

I was very disappointed with the Apartment company, I viewed a property a week ago and put in an offer whilst viewing. I heard nothing back from Jon who showed me around Monday so I called him at the end of Tuesday, he told me he had left a message with the owner and he would get back to me. Two days later I still had no contact from Jon so I called and was told he was out so I left a message for him to call me back to let me know what was going on. At least if I had been told what was going on I could have viewed other prospective properties.He did not return two of my calls and today I have looked on their website and the property has been let. Not a very professional approach at all, not a single call to update me or to allow me to put in a higher offer if required. I was the first person to view the property and was just left hanging for a week! Very poor customer service and ineffective approach to business. Not recommended to help you find a property.

I had an excellent experience with The Apartment Company. As a first-time buyer, I really appreciated being able to tap into Sharon's thorough knowledge of the Bath market. She demystified the buying process, gave just the right amount of encouragement, and was prompt and efficient in all communications. Her advice, and Peter's, about what characteristics buyers like us should look for was spot on. Living abroad, we actually bought our flat without seeing it first, so trust was vital. There was still a certain amount of trepidation as we climbed the stairs to see it for the first time, but as soon as we opened the door we were delighted. As Sharon said, it is 'a great little flat', and our tenants love it.

From start to finish nothing was too much trouble and I have been kept upto date every step of the way as promised. I am so grateful to the apartment company (especially Laine and the property management team) From the start when I came in to sign the lease last year they were so welcoming and friendly. Recently I had an issue at the flat that was urgent and they got back to me the next day even though it was a Sunday, they were so helpful and supportive and it was dealt with quickly by Nick who was very professional. I am very happy that they are looking after my tenancy :)

Really poor service with the apartment company and agent Jonathan Butt. We had been offered an apartment in Bath. The agent didn't reply to answer any of our emails or answer our phone calls regarding the property for a week. We then paid the agency fees 5 days later which was accepted and the money was taken out of our bank account. The agent then didn't answer any of our calls or emails all day. We then get a phone call 4 days later saying the property cannot be rented out to 3 individuals. This is something that should have been confirmed before being shown to us. I am very disappointed with the service that has been offered and would not trust this company to provide us with properties in the future.

Appallingly incompetent. In the six month tenancy we've had rudeness, poor communication, sending our customer data to unknown third parties, and finding drugs in the property at check in. The worst business I've had the misfortune of dealing with.
