Review based on personal experience after contacting this business
I recently asked for a valuation as online valuations just aren’t accurate however it was clear they didn’t want to come out and wanted to guess what the property was worth
When he told me I laughed as he also clearly hadn’t listened to brief of the house and it was a clear guess
Basically gave me a price that 1 of bungalows goes for in the same street ( as I’ve spoken to someone that’s got one )
My review was based on town property behaviour the first email I got from the sales manager was basically telling me I was wrong for contacting a
estate agent and basically telling me to “do one”
On Zoopla for requesting valuations it has its own enquiry section for valuations so I filled out a Zoopla valuation enquiry to get a valuation of the property you didn’t know who I was or who I know or why I wanted it or any business I could bring in future and email from sales manager was very unprofessional implying I had done something wrong by simply filling out a form on the Zoopla property website
Wouldn’t have cost them to add my house last on a full day of valuations
Very disappointing behaviour actually

I decided to sell my property with Town Property after reading recent reviews and checking out the regional sales data.
My property became vacant (after a period of letting it) and Robert, Paul, Russell and the whole team at Town Property were responsive, efficient and driven in delivering a sale.

This is the second time that I have used Town Property and I have to say that the service I have received on both occasions has been excellent and the service offered is very professional at all times.
The staff in the office are all really helpful and friendly which makes you feel welcome and they also communicate very well with each other meaning that they are able to update you and push the process forward too if a particular staff member is out of the office.

Don’t recommend town property rentals, Jessica the manager was very obnoxious and not helpful! Didn’t even want to listen to anything I said just spoke over me!! I went with a different letting agents in the town which were a lot more helpful!

The service on the other side did not disappoint, Adrian answered all the questions I had and also arranged at short notice access to the property in question for some last minute checks. I’m a bit stingy when it comes to star ratings, (ask the eBay sellers I buy from…) but the 5 star ratings I’ve given for staff at Town Property are well deserved. From the first visit to value, then on to getting the details and images right, getting the buyers visiting and achieving the sale has all been exemplary. We were also lucky enough to be buying through Town Property, that was also dealt with extremely well.
All communication was dealt with quickly, professionally and with the right amount of familiarity. Any issues (caused by others in the chain, not by Town Property) was quickly discussed with us and a solution or way forward found. There was never the feeling of information being kept from us.
I can do nothing but recommend Town Property to those selling, and if you find a property to buy at this estate agent, I believe you will be treated fairly and honestly.

James Bell went above and beyond in terms of my expectations, he is clearly very experienced and knowledgeable about all aspects of the business, but where he excelled was in the customer service aspect of his role. There were several times throughout the 6 month process, from offers to exchange, where it looked as though an issue could have compromised or even stopped the process. There was even, sad to say, poor performance from two different solicitors in the chain, but at every step of the way James constantly kept in contact with me, even when there was no specific information to update me on, to reassure me, demonstrate empathy, and keep me sane! I have no hesitation in strongly recommending him, and therefore Town Flats!

Town Property helped me sell my quirky property, which had proved difficult for other local agents.
I switched to Town Property on the recommendation of a local business colleague, and as soon as I switched I recognised a significantly different attitude.
My experience was that Town Property worked well as a team, being very proactive in their sales and marketing, and their communications with me as the seller.
I always felt I knew how active the market was, and kept informed on viewing feedback, and thoughts of what might be needed. The team was prepared to give me honest feedback, even if it might not be the best of news.
I can't recommend this agency more highly - yes I am grateful they got the sale over the line, but the manner in which they did this made this a significantly less stressful process.

Disappointed with the service. Been at this particular property for 4 years. After cleaning the property throughout, after recieving a no fault eviction through the post ( no telephone contact was made.)The team at town rentals and landlord have asked to keep most of the deposit. We have an 18 month old baby, the whole situation has been and is very difficult.
The team advised us they would have to pay for a cleaner, and are wishing to charge the full amount. I did get a quote prior to cleaning but decided to do it myself, even thought I am very busy with my baby. My friend also helped. We scrubbed the place and they are still wishing to charge us the full amount for cleaning. We advised about an issue with the drawer in the kitchen and were told they wouldn't do anything about this until we had vacated the property (even though it was dangerous for our baby) they have now added this to one of the reasons why they wish to keep most of the deposit. We are challenging the taking of the deposit with the DPS. I must say the team did resolve problems in a timely manner whilst we were there but have no customer service skills. No introduction to who I was speaking to when making telephone contact and a very monotone, uncaring attitude to customers. I would advise choosing another rental team to help with your property search. We are now with another company, who are extremely professional and just generally a lot nicer.
I wanted to also add that when we moved into this property, it was infested with fleas, as the previous tenants had a cat, without the letting team or landlord knowing. I find this difficult to believe as a house inspection was carried out numerous times, whilst we lived there.
Why weren't the fleas picked up, following the cleaning of the property, prior to me and my partner moving in. I got bitten so many times, I still have the scars from it but we're we compensated for their negligence... NO! and now they want to take all of our deposit because we didn't leave the house in the state we got it on. 4 years later. Absolutely ridiculous.
Would have been absolutely impossible to return the property to its former state before we moved in, as it had been 4 plus years. We had a dog and a baby.
I also wish to add that when we sent our notice email to the letting manager Jessica, we were informed the following week that we should have received a bounce back email, stating that she was not at work therefore, our notice can only be taken today (a week later than we wanted) I advised the manager that we didn't not receive a bounce back so we would like to have our notice period from the time we sent the email a week before. Jessica became quite aggressive, insisting that other people that had emailed had received a bounce back email. No proof was provided by her. I advised that she needed to respect our wishes, as we had plans to move out and had put things in place to assist with this. She reluctantly agreed to go with our notice. Again, awful communication skills!

The flat we rented through Town Rentals was not fit for habitation and contravened fire regs. The kitchen appliances were filthy, there was excessive mildew on the window frames, A poorly fitted fire door fell on my wife, causing painful bruising. The reaction from Town Flats, who have a legal duty of care, was to say they had passed on my email to the landlords. Also, the garden was flooded on several occasions with excrement and sanitary towels being deposited after the flood subsided, and we were left to clean it up.

Moving in to a clean, hygienic property is standard. But clearly not in this case. The flat had been cleared of furniture, but not cleaned. Some of the dirt was a direct threat to health ie. Black mould. I documented this the day I moved in, sent photos to this agency and requested cleaning from the landlord,as long as it wasn't taken from my deposit. Now my tenancy has ended and they are trying to withold over £180 from my despoit for "cleaning" despite I left the flat in a spotless condition. The landlord (who wishes their identity to remain secret, I wonder why?) clearly trying to negate their responsibilities and save cash. Parasitic. I left the property spotless, however when I moved in it was a state. Would you accept this as the state of a property when you move in. Black mould, heavy dust, extractor fans clogged with grease and a filthy oven? Do better.

He is thorough, constantly follows up every enquiry, chases relevant parties to stop processes dragging often building up a positive rapport with all parties to facilitate positive communication.
I have been down avenues in terms of selling and buying properties with Tyrone over the past year, it’s been a long and often tedious process I imagine somewhat frustrating for many estate agents but he never seemed put out no matter how many times I asked to view the property!

As a first time buyer, Town Property made what should have been a daunting experience smooth and easy. From start to finish, I felt reassured and confident in my decision. The team weren’t sales-like in their approach, but more like friendly guides. Tyrone Bruce was particularly accommodating with all my viewing requests and novice questions! Having Toby (the mortgage broker) in the office meant that everything was so streamlined and communicated. The whole process can be summed up by the completion date when, within 30 minutes of completion being confirmed by solicitors, Town Property had the keys ready for me to collect in a thoughtful “congratulations” envelope, with lots of smiles and congratulations at the office. Honestly the best rental experience I have had, from property viewing all the way to handing back the keys at the end of my tenancy the process was painless. Every issue I had was resolved in a timely manner and the customer service received was next level. I never once felt like I was being scammed and had my deposit returned in full at the end of my tenancy without having to fight for it (unheard of in my experience!). Absolutely 5 star experience, Robert Hammond came round to my house on Friday 10th February to measure up and take photos, was advised that the house would officially be put on the market on Monday 13th Feb, and that my agent would be Tyrone Bruce. Saturday 11th February I received a phone call from Tyrone asking if it would be ok to do some viewings that day, ended up being 3 viewings and not even officially on the market yet, of course this was fine. Monday 13th Feb got a phone call saying great news, you've had 2 offers, and one for full asking price, I was amazed, I thought it would be on for months, I joked saying we obviously put it on for too little, but knew we'd put it on for just the right amount. It had been my birthday on Saturday so also said what a lovely birthday present ????. Contracts exchanged on 17th March and completion on 30th March, Tyrone advised this has been quickest sale he's had since doing this job 6.5wks, what a pleasure it's been. It is a very nice location right on the beach. The harbour is 10 mins walk away. Plus there are restaurants, retail shopping along with a supermarkets and cafes. A path goes along side the beach and it is not a crowded area. Plenty of room to ride your bike or exercise on the beach.

If I have to give something less than this I would most definitely. The treatment is very unprofessional. The staff is very chaotic they are not aware with legal situations to the point that you have to explain everything to them. They don’t take applications seriously and they can waste your time without any consideration. I advise everyone to avoid dealing with this agency and I hope everyone wouldn’t experience my horrible situation that this agency have put me in.
I had to reply here as I wouldn’t tolerate bad treatment and lies as well.
I have never been informed that there was another applicant except 2 hrs prior to “landlord’s decision” so I wasted 10 to 14 days without doing any searches because of this.
I had to explain to your colleague many things about my work/permit situation and how it shouldn’t delay any progress
Everything that I have been asked to sign and send was done in time even the form of taking the apartment without seeing
Instead of trying to find reasons for messing the whole situation up, I would suggest a constructive feedback and improvement of the professionalism among your agency

The worst service ever tried to bully us into having our house valued all we wanted to do was have some details of a property and they wouldn’t let us have basic details unless they arranged for our house to be valued. I’ve heard of slimy agents. These top the pile though. Avoid like the plague!!!

Tried to buy through this agent and had such a poor service they wouldnt let me view until I had seen their mortgage advisor and I missed out on two properties due to this if your selling through this agent watch out! Other agents are so much better in Eastbourne

I never imagined buying and selling would be so easy!!! Town Property made the journey so simple - not the first time we have used Town to buy a property but the first time purchasing and selling at the same time.
We found our property before we had even thought about selling ours, it all happened so quickly. We put an offer in via Town Property and before that was accepted 2 days later our house was up for sale and live on Rightmove AND we had received an offer! Within 4 days of going live our offer was accepted and we had sold ours for the full asking price. Seemed too good to be true!
Jamie and Will mainly dealt with our sale and purchase and I can not sing their praises enough together they helped and guided us every step of the way. Communication was fantastic and no question seemed too much, they truly made the house move so smooth - we will always use and recommend Town Property to friends and family.

On trying to sell our property, Town property never returned calls, never updated us on progress, and were not personable or professional. We felt like we were intruding should we dare to call them. Agents showing us around properties for sale were not clued up about property and didn't seem interested in assisting unless a sale seemed imminent. Staff very aggressive and showed no skills in dealing with people. Very disappointing service and experience.

Town property are amazing with regard the selling of our house, Dan Stimson was very professional, kept us informed every step of the way, regular phone calls (weekly) if he wasn’t going to be around he would always let us know and give us a name of someone who could help us. Terrible ,never got landlord to do any much needed work on property .went without hot water for a month ,then on leaving tried to keep our deposit to redecorate even though this hadn't been done for at least 8 years had to take case to deposit protection scheme ,which we won .... Were treated with contempt once tenancy was over ?

Not very happy with Town Property. Let my house out with them with the full management service. Had a lease for three people and ended up with numerous people here according to the neighbours. There were signs of this at the property as well. I made it clear from the outset that I didn't want any more then what the lease stated living here. I am not talking about the odd guest. The property should have been inspected at frequent intervals. Bedrooms moved downstairs should have been a clue.
My advice is to manage it yourself or don't undertake their full management service.

Having used Town Property to buy our first home recently, we have been 100% happy with the service we received. Though primarily dealing with James (who was excellent!), any queries etc I had with other members of staff along the way were also dealt with very promptly and professionally. All in all, TP helped our first buying experience to go as smoothly as possible - based on the service we received, I would certainly recommend dealing with them.

First and last time i would deal with this Agent, we were purchasing a property through them ,completed all the searches spent money with our solicitor almost to point of exchange when they decided to drop us in favour of another buyer Just like that , left us without a property and our purchaser unable to continue with our's and he is a client of their's so they deliberately let him down as well. My awful experience of this agent showed me the customer is of no consequence to them just a quick commision. They have cost us a lot of money and they dont care at all , they are cold and ruthless. Beware. PS If you dont leave a rating you cant post but believe me 1 star is way too much.

Town Flats sold my flat for me back in 2009. The service I received was first rate, from the initial visit and valuation from Simon right through to completion working with James. The team were keen to help and got my property out to their network immediately. Within a week my flat had sold for the asking price!
We then used Town Financial to sort out our mortgage on the new house, which all went through quickly.
I can't recommend them enough.
