Absolutely appalling service !
Sent in forms on Friday 31st May regarding a rental property at Carseloch Rd Ayr, we offered 6 months rent upfront on top of the 2 months deposit.
We received a reply from Samantha Outten quoting “Many thanks for your applications, we will get back to you about a viewing in due course.”
We called on Tuesday 4th June to see if there was any update, only to be told there was a block viewing on Saturday 1st June that we were never told about and the landlord had picked one of the viewers.
When we asked if we would have been informed that our offer was not successful, we were told “we sometimes have up to 50 applicants for a property so………”
Excuse me but if you have up to 50 applicants then you will contact 49 applicants and tell them they have not been successful. That would be the professional and decent thing to do.
We were also told that it states in their wording that if we don’t hear back then we weren’t successful.
Actually it states in your wording that you will respond within 5 days.
Oh and then the girl on the phone actually hung the phone up mid conversation.
As landlords ourselves we have never treated any tenant or potential tenant in the manner that the staff of Galbraith’s have today, and the fact that there are dozens of applicants for every property these days does not give you the right to be as unprofessional and ungrateful as you are....
