Very disappointing experience overall.
Throughout the transaction, communication from both the agent and seller was inconsistent, contradictory and, at times, highly misleading. We were repeatedly given different explanations regarding occupancy of the property, which directly affected access arrangements and delayed inspections.
Concerns raised by us as buyers were consistently minimised, while information favourable to the seller was pushed very aggressively. We were encouraged to rely on existing certificates despite them being close to expiry, and only because we insisted on independent inspections were serious C2 electrical safety issues identified.
As first-time buyers, the overall impression was that key information was being selectively presented in a way that protected the seller’s position rather than allowing buyers to make fully informed decisions.
We ultimately had to independently verify important aspects of the transaction ourselves instead of being able to rely on representations made during the process.
Future buyers should approach very carefully, verify everything independently, and maintain a healthy degree of scepticism throughout.... Read more
