Avoid renting properties from this branch!!!!
My experience with Martin Eshelby, the branch manager, was extremely unprofessional and unreliable.
After viewing a property and making an offer, I received no communication for an extended period. When I finally reached out for an update, I was told my offer had been rejected. While I understand this happens, I expected proactive communication from Martin instead of being left in the dark.
Days later, Martin contacted me to say the other tenant had withdrawn their offer, and I now had the opportunity to rent the property. He immediately sent me a contract and requested a deposit that evening.
At this point, I had received another offer and needed time to consider both options. I informed Martin's colleague that I would make a decision by the end of the day. However, Martin then called me directly and spoke to me in an incredibly rude and unprofessional manner. He told me I didn't need to decide and that they were no longer renting to me. He then abruptly ended the call.
As a potential client, I was shocked and appalled by his behavior. This is not the type of treatment I expect from a professional estate agent.
I strongly advise against using this branch.

Superb, friendly, professional, hard working, honest and straightforward - they make selling a property about as stress free as you could hope for in a country where selling/purchasing a property is as laborious, time consuming, and unnecessarily complicated as possible... In situations where three sets of solicitors can't communicate with each other and sometimes not even with their clients it's fantastic having someone like Aimee literally dragging the information out of them and passing things on to us, making things function about 10 times better than it would have done. Martin is a pleasure to deal with and got the ball rolling with a lot of positivity and was the steady force keeping it rolling. Thank you to everyone in that little office!

I am a first time buyer, so new to the world of purchasing property. I found Ellisons to be okay. The communication throughout the process was good. However, I did feel somewhat taken advantage of during the process due to my lack of experience and the agent seemed to prioritise the sellers desires over my own. When I asked the agent to ask the seller if they would be open to negotiating a price decrease due to certain works which needed completing, I was informed they wouldn’t be open to this. I had to push the agent to ask the seller, and when they did I managed to get £3000 reduced. It felt disappointing that I had to push the agent to do their job, and if I had listened to their advice I would have lost that money. At the beginning of the sale they also referred me to a partner solicitor who ended up having hidden fees not initially disclosed. If you are first time buyers I would be cautious going with Ellisons for these reasons.

They value your property very well, unlike some other agents who are looking to downgrade your property to be able to sell quickly. Martin (branch manager) was great in that, and explained me his valuation reasoning as well as comparison to other properties. Rebecca handled rest of the selling process, and I can not praise her enough. The flat was not easy to sell - it was put for sale during the pandemic, and in a competitive climate for that sort of flats, but Ellisons managed to get a number of viewings and eventually a decent, acceptable offer. We especially liked the fact that they really were responsive - if we phoned them, there was always someone who picked up the phone and gave an update; if there was a new viewing, the information was always sent to us in a timely manner; they regularly provided updates and feedback on the outcome of viewings; we never had to 'chase' them for information. They were able to offer us a competitive price for their service and provided other helpful information (such as recommendations of decent solicitors, estimated value of the property, etc.). All in all, it was a great quality and reliable service from start to finish, for a reasonable price and that's why we would gladly use them again.

I put my house on the market just before Christmas. Its the only house I have sold and I was very anxious to sell it before the changes in capital gains tax. Martin Eshelby came round and was head and shoulders above the other agents I invited in (I nearly frog marched one out). He instilled confidence and took away my anxiety with his clear strategy and calm professional approach. We had 16 viewings on the first day and 7 offers. I really couldn't have asked for more. After that the team at Colliers Wood were perfect. At a crucial time I had to get them to really put their foot on the gas to tie things up. Exchange was the Friday before Bozza locked things down. These guys were the right team for the job. They did what they said on the tin and remarkably offered the best terms too. By all means get other estate agents round but get these guys round too and you will probably have a similar realisation to me. I am sure I would have sold my house with another agent but I am not sure I would have sold it in the timeframe and that alone saved tens of thousands. In terms of the experience I had with them, I am in a rare position where I don't have a suggestion of something they could have done better. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other sellers. My only criticism is that they don't have a branch near the house I am in now, because I want to sell that as well!!

Know that Estate Agents normally get a bad name and often for good reason. However, I cannot recommend these guys enough. I’ve dealt with them for over a year and they are a seriously professional outfit. They managed to get my property let within 48 hours and have always delivered on anything that they’ve promised me. They’ve provided great advice and also honest advice. They’ll tell you it how it is rather than telling you what you want to hear.
