MMP were great when I moved into a property with a friend and later were very helpful when the tenancy changed to myself and my partner. All requests we made through them were dealt with well. However, when the time to move out came we were informed that the entire 575 pound deposit was being kept for “cleaning” despite myself and my partner cleaning the house top to bottom and painting the living room, kitchen and a bedroom out of our own pockets over the last 4 and a half or so years. We did manage to claw back 275 pounds with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme and had to reluctantly accept this after our request was ignored for a week and a half. However, this still leaves 300 pounds of deposit that was kept for “cleaning”. We were also not offered a pre departure check so that we could sort the issues that they had with the house and claim our full deposit back. All in all this felt like either the company or the landlord were trying to pull a fast one on us in the hope we wouldn’t contest the decision.... Read more

Me and my family rented Tegfan, Llangadfan, SY21 0PR from Moris Marshall and Poole/Norman Lloyd from Mr Toby Assinger. Upon moving into the property we noticed the master bedroom window and the built-in wardrobes were covered in Stachybotrys (black mould), the paint work was patchy and shoddy with a number of scuff marks, there was dust in nearly every room and the garage fascia had heavy moss growth. We complained to the landlord and Norman Lloyd to which they responded that we should take photos of the condition of the property which we did and then cleaned the property throughout to a liveable standard. 5 Weeks later the landlord asked to inspect the property we obliged even though this would seem too soon into the tenancy especially given the condition it was let in. He apologised for the condition the property was let and no concerns were raised. Imagine our surprise when only three weeks later we receive a letter from Norman Lloyd claiming the landlord was wishing to sell the property and would need to enter to take photos of every room. Why you would want a tenants belonging inside the property whilst you do this i do not know, also why the landlord felt the need to sell the property after letting it for 8 Weeks is questionable. We were also told in no uncertain terms whilst the landlord couldn't serve us our Section 21 notice we were more than welcome to find a new property. I have three children one of which suffers with cerebral palsy, he is due to have a very expensive life changing operation this is one of the main reasons we chose a bungalow. It left me and my family very distressed and out of pocket having to find a new home in such a short period of time. Norman Lloyd have merged with MMP and once we had decided we have to find a new home and moved out it was MMP's turn to attempt to extort my family. They claimed the house required re-painting at a cost of £225 to us and cleaning to the cost of £140 to us. We obviously did not accept these deductions to our deposit and i kindly pointed out that not only was the house in an unfit state when it was let, no inventory was signed by ourselves and the landlord or neither agent had the legal documentation required to determine what condition the house was in when we let it. Below are pictures of the property when we let and two of the cleanliness when we left. The house is currently being let which was agreed almost immediately after we left, even though the property was apparently being sold. There is nothing in law to stop agents and landlords doing this, in my opinion there should be. Ultimately I feel me and my family were discriminated against by the Landlord Mr Toby Assinger, Norman Lloyd and Morris Marshall Poole and I felt this review was necessary to help protect other young families like mine. All my personal documents had not been returned and when I went to enquire after them they told me they had been lost. These included my birth certificate, payslips, utility bill and bank statements.... Read more

They gave the keys to the then prospective buyer to go to the property unaccompanied. When something was found to be missing from the house it took a letter from my solicitor for them to acknowledge responsibility and pay to replace the missing item. No apology. Extremely poor level of service and rude. Not to mention irresponsible and unprofessional. Basic care and concern fro the security of my property as their client non existant.... Read more
