I lived in a property on Cheadle High Street for 3 years with Breeze.
Myself and the first tenant I lived with needed to find a place very quickly due to starting work in the area so found the property and moved in relatively quickly.
The first 2 years of living at the property I found to be good. We got on well with the property agents and they were very approachable, and listened to our queries. There were lots of problems with mould/cracks around the property that were all photographed and reportedly properly by us but unfortunately nothing was ever done about it (this is something the landlord sorts)
The landlord came round unannounced several times throughout our tenancy, which is something I personally don’t have too much of a problem with however my fellow tenant ended up leaving the property for numerous reasons including this, the amount of mound and the fact we received countless noise complaints made by an appallingly rude and aggressive neighbour, all of which were false accusations and were due to the tenant below us.
During my third year at the property my partner moved in with me, we had a good start to the year but sadly it was tainted once we encountered a terribly rude new member of staff at Breeze accusing us of noise complaints and refusing to listen to our complaints about the tenant below (another property of theirs) smoking illegal substances which could be smelt very strongly in our property and nothing was done about this.
We asking about have a Cat in the property around June 2017, and as the property was unfurnished and already not in amazing condition we didn’t see it being the problem.
We paid an extra £150 deposit to have a Cat and when we left the property we had all carpets deep cleaned and repainted every room in the residence. Our cat caused no trouble at all- I have had cats all my life and know how to train them/prevent them from causing damage.
The kitchen in particular was in an awful condition but when we moved out we spent days ensuring everything was in a better condition than when I first moved in. The oven looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in 15 years but we spent a fortune trying to clean it and restoring it to a better standard than what was left for us.
Sadly getting our deposit back was exceptionally tricky, as the rude man I encountered earlier in the year tried to withhold £75 for no reason which we later got back and told the property looked ‘absolutely fine’.
No one has been in the property for 6 months and a To Let sign has been there since February.
A couple of people I know from the area have viewed our old property and refused to take it on due to terrible windows/door and damp.
I have been told by close friends who live nearby that the property has recently had new doors/windows, but that the landlord/Breeze have been telling people the property was left in an appalling condition by the previous tenants... meaning me, which is absolutely diabolical and horrible to hear and simply not true at all.
My experience with Breeze and the while experience of renting was tainted a lot, especially considering myself and partner worked tirelessly to ensure the property was in a high standard when we left even though nothing was done to improve the state of the property whilst we were there.... Read more
