4th May 2025 (12 days ago)***Buyers beware of this estate agent*** We were in the process of purchasing a property being marketed by Joy Walker Estate Agents. The sale was agreed with the vendor, our solicitors fees and valuation survey were paid for, searches were paid for. Weeks into the buying process and completely out of the blue, Joy, the owner of this cowboy outfit, rang me and said that another potential buyer had come in and offered 20k more than me and would I like to match it? I explained that I was up to my limit financially and couldn't afford to go any higher and also added that the sale had been agreed, monies paid and the solicitors of both sides had been working on the case for weeks. Joy explained in a very condescending manner that nothing is finalised, or set in concrete with property purchases, until the day that contracts are exchanged. So there you have it, we lost the property to someone else, weeks into the buying process, because this estate agent continued to market the property behind our backs, weeks after my offer had been accepted. We lost £850 in fees spent, my wife was distraught and spent the weekend in tears and we were left desperately trying to find another house, as the tenancy on our rental property was nearly up. Unscrupulous! Unprofessional! She doesn't give a damn! All that Mrs Joy Walker cares about, is bringing in the commission. Riding roughshod over people in order to bring the money in, is all that matters to this woman. I mistakenly thought that the Wild West of estate agency and the dodgy practice of gazumping was something we all left behind in the 1980's, but unfortunately, someone forgot to tell Joy; or more likely she just doesn't care? All you potential buyers out there - Is it really worth the risk of dealing with fleabags like this?

We mostly dealt with Molly & Jim who were both fantastic and always happy to help with anything. The team were really proactive at selling our house & we managed to sell within a week! Highly recommend for anyone looking to sell, buy or fit any mortgage support! Thank you very much!

4th Mar 2025 (10 weeks ago)I had a terrible experience with this estate agent. From the start, they were misleading and untrustworthy. They expected me to secure a mortgage within 20 days, even though banks typically take 1 to 3 months on average. When I viewed the property, I noticed construction work nearby. I called to ask what was being built, and the sales manager claimed they had no information. Later, my solicitor discovered that the vendor was actually retaining part of the land, leaving only a small garden—something the agent failed to disclose. To make matters worse, she wants to put the property back to market agent accused me of money laundering, despite my having a clear financial record and paying taxes on every penny I earn. When I challenged this false claim, she abruptly ended the call, said she didn’t trust my bank, and immediately put the property back on the market—without informing the vendor. I had already spent money on a solicitor, valuation, and mortgage broker fees, which I wouldn’t have gotten back if the agent had secured another buyer. Fortunately, I informed my solicitor, who contacted the vendor’s solicitor. It turned out the vendor had no idea the property was relisted, and they assured us that no other viewings would be allowed. This experience was stressful and costly. I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this estate agent.

31st Jul 2024 (9 mo. ago)Our overall experience with Bettermove is one of disappointment. They sold a model whereby they would market our property to their pool of investors. Essentially they put our house on Rightmove for a slightly higher price then they said they would pay us and left it there. I had to chase for updates and when they responded it was to say that their investors thought the price was an issue! So why didnt you speak to us about that and say what we thought to reducing. I dont actually think they've got investors, just people who want a cash purchase in certain areas. Fortunately we didn't pay Bettermove any money for their services and we ended the contract as soon as we could

They kept me well informed and worked hard to get me the sale on my house.If I ever needed an estate agents again these would be who I'd go to or pass on to friends to use ????

9th May 2025 (7 days ago)Approached House Sales Direct as I was struggling to sell my house (3 bed Semi) with my local estate agent. I received a valuation the same day and signed up. My property was sold within a month! How my existing agent couldn't do this but House Sales Direct could I don't know. Least to say I was over the moon.
