Leaders behaviour towards deposit refund is laced with all kind of negative experience, from untrustworthy to unreliable and then to lies and unethical practices. I have been following up for almost 4 months now for my deposit and it’s met with too many back and forth. I don’t understand why it’s taking so long to refund a deposit after how many months of leaving the property. The worst case scenario is the audacity to archive the Tenancy Deposit portal and update this payment has been made whereas they are yet to make this payment. This is a very poor practice and unfortunately I have lost all trust with Leaders Letting and Estate Agents. I wouldn’t advise anyone to do business with Leaders as they will be frustrated when it comes with customer service satisfaction and their dealings with financial transactions as they have no business integrity or whatsoever. This is still an ongoing issue with Leaders Letting and Estate Agents as they are yet to refund my Deposit.

They navigated the entire process smoothly, even when things got challenging, and made what could have been a stressful purchase feel effortless. 18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

Communication was always highly efficient and timely. Reasonable fees. Exceptional service. Highly recommend to anyone. Great guy to as well!
8th May 2026 (12 days ago)I have been using Howkins and Harrison to manage my properties for approximately the last 10 years. Whilst I have always received a good service my recent experience has been outstanding. A cylinder fell off the wall in the airing cupboard damaging the main water tank and splitting a water pipe. This resulted in water escaping onto the landing coming through the downstairs ceilings, tripping the electrics in the house. The way Alison Edwards dealt with this was fantastic. As soon as she was aware, she attended the property to ensure the tenant was okay and the property safe. She contacted multiple contractors and within a couple of hours had a plumber and electrician on site. She made sensible decisions on our behalf, monitored the progress of the works being carried out over the 2 weeks it took to put everything right and kept us and the tenant updated throughout. We would like to thank her for the time and care she took and for how she treated the property as if it were her own. Thank you to the team at Howkins for the work they have done for us over the years and a massive thank you to Alison. You are a true star!

Six months and multiple requests later, they're still calling and emailing. Don't ever give them your contact details or you'll never hear the last of it.- 13th May 2026 (7 days ago)Truly terrible experience with Connells We were handed over a property in an appealing condition (all room were dirty, shit marks on the toilets, ear buds on the floor, etc) and they did nothing to fix it, just said it was left to the landlord to arrange cleaning There were issues during the tenancy and they did nothing fix them either And at the end of the tenancy they charged us for all sorts of unjustified things, including cleaning! And 2 months after we moved out still they haven't released the rest of the deposit even though we finally accepted their ridiculous charges just to resolve the situation AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF POSSIBLE
