2nd Mar 2019 (5 years ago)We are student at Durham University and we decided to rent a house. I called the estate agent and they agreed to send us the agreement and everything to rent this one house that we really liked. We were supposed to arrive a week later to submit the forms and pay deposit. When I got the papers, they confirmed with us that the house would be definitely be reserved for us. However, the morning we were supposed to hand in the papers, I got a short, badly articulated email saying that the property was no longer available and that we should look somewhere else. No explanation, nothing. We were angry because student accommodation is competitive and we lost so much time waiting for this house. Upon emailing them multiple times, they finally said that the previous tenants decided to stay for another year. Didn’t they confirm with the current tenants that they would be moving out? Why would they even list the house if that was an option? .Why send us the agreements and everything? They didn’t even bother trying to find us other options that we could stay at instead. All and all, I would never use this agent again because their service is absolutely terrible

3rd May 2024 (10 days ago)After making an appointment with Linda Leary, nobody turned up. I waited for a while before contacting them and was informed they cancelled the appointment via email, which I have not received. I was not happy ???? why couldn’t they call me back ??? These days you can’t just say, oh we sent you an email.
9th Mar 2024 (9 weeks ago)Pleased with the service from Paul Copeland and his staff. Even phoning a vier on a Sunday and contacting me to confirm they were attending. They brought lots of viewers through the door. were the previous Estate Agent failed.
18th May 2023 (11 mo. ago)Huge thank you to Jeanette snd Mary who helped with the purchase of our new home. It was quite stressful for us at times and we had a few (a lot!) bumps in the road. We were very dependent on the team especially towards the end of the buying process for many reasons. I truly believe without their help on an almost daily basis we would still be waiting for the sale to have been finalised. We are now 4 weeks in our new home and are so happy. The stress long forgotten. The team are Very professional, very “on it” and also want to do the best for the buyer. Thank you all.
15th Mar 2024 (8 weeks ago)Cons : they only checked in after 12 weeks and once when we had a possible viewing. This felt quite poor over 26 weeks. I requested some replacement photos to use alongside a price drop to create some Interest. Advisor quite abrupt and unhappy at the request . Refused/strongly advised this was not necessary even though work had been done to improve the home since original photos taken . Communication was poor with very little contact over a 26 week period. Didn’t see home marketed via Facebook or email shots . Some of the Photos weren’t the best , make sure you really check them before you approve . Pros : Service was quick and effective at point of set up. Staff were otherwise polite and pleasant to deal with . Always returned calls when I rang . Board went up quickly and photographer was quick. Some of the photos were good. House did not sell or even have a viewing within 26 weeks which is unusual in a popular area.
11th Dec 2023 (22 weeks ago)I chose to Jan Forster for my flat sale and I was extremely glad to use them as my estate agent. From start to finish Karen and Andrew showed professionalism, expert local knowledge, flexibility, and were worth every penny. I’ve dealt with other local estate agents and they blow them out the water. I was able to trust Karen with being able to work on my best interest, and her advice from listing at the right price to get a quick sale, to her patience and ability to chase and help push to completion at the end was incredibly valuable. Would highly recommend over any other agent in the area.

8th Nov 2023 (6 mo. ago)Great experience with Hegartys. All of the staff at the branch are lovely, friendly and super helpful. We did have a few issues with our photos which couldn’t be helped (technology), however I always believe it’s how these situations are dealt with which matters and Hegartys were great. Our property sold within a day or 2 of being on the market and it sold above asking price. Hegartys did value our property higher than what we decided to go on the market with which shows their valuation was accurate.

Very happy with their service. Unlike the other agent, the office staff were easy to get in touch with and followed up calls from potential buyers.

Together with Smith and Graham solicitors made selling easy. My property was with Michael Poole for six months getting nowhere and cost me £3k plus to leave empty until I put it on with Progression Properties. Amazing, five stars all day ????
