10th Oct 2024 (24 weeks ago)I contacted Strutt & Parker in Exeter to sell my late parents home in Sidmouth. Isabel Clifton came and looked around the property, she was punctual and very professional with a friendly attitude. Isabel had a good grasp of the market and how to market the property in a difficult housing market. Isabel and her team provided good helpful advice and had an excellent knowledge of marketing our property. Their whole approach was professional, from valuing the property, to producing the particulars and photographs, to arranging the viewings and showing the potential purchasers around the property and achieving a good sale price that I was very happy with. I would highly recommend Isabel Clifton & her team if you are wishing to market a property. Robin Gabriel

20th Dec 2024 (14 weeks ago)The St Austell branch handled the sale of my partner's house recently. It was an incredibly complicated sale through no fault of Millerson but throughout they helped and guided us and chased everybody that needed chasing. Our thanks got to Tom, Jeremy and Val for their hard work, professionalism and humour when it was needed. Between us my partner and I have moved house over 40 times and we rate Millerson as the best estate agents we have ever worked with. Highly recommended

3rd Jan 2025 (12 weeks ago)ALL ESTATE AGENTS ARE NOT EQUAL! After having a truly horrible experience with an independent estate agent in Helston, we couldn't have been happier or more relieved than when we decided to call in the professionals. From the start, Ben from Jackson-Stops was able to identify where the previous agents were failing and knew exactly how to rectify the situation. He predicted that they would secure a sale within the month and that we'd be beginning the next chapter of our lives in the autumn, and that's exactly what he delivered. They are a very friendly team and extremely conscientious. We really couldn't have been happier with how the house sale went and their recommendation of a solicitor was also spot on. Thank you Ben, George and the rest of the Truro team. We wouldn't hesitate to use you again.

28th Feb 2025 (26 days ago)Do not use John Bray/Sykes Holidays and do not stay at Lowenna Manor 3 (Rock). I arrived at Lowenna Manor 3 for a one week stay. Upon arriving I expect to find the property clean and tidy. However, this was not the case and the I found the following in the property: - Spiders nest, cobwebs and dust throughout the property - Unclean and unhygienic cupboards (crumbs left and an unpleasant smell) with an unclean hob - Fridge smelt like bleach unsuitable for fresh food - Hair and grime in the bathroom - Dirt stains, bloodstains and hairs on the bedsheets - Dirt/dead insects behind the bed and sofa I immediately contacted John Bray/Sykes Holiday Cottages who refused to help me that evening so I had to book a hotel for the night. John Bray called me the following morning and insisted the property had been cleaned (despite sending them photos) and offered for the property to be cleaned again. Due to the state of the property when I arrived I informed them that we have cancelled the let, will not be returning to the property and will seek our own alternative accommodation. I explained that as a minimum I expect a full refund of the holiday let along with compensation for the inconvenience of the extra costs incurred due to no alternative suitable accommodation being provided for that night. After a number of phone calls with Chrstian and his very bad attitude, I was offered £110 compensation and no further assistance. Christan threatened to withdraw the compensation if I wanted to seek a full refund. I was more than happy to refuse his ‘generous compensation offer’ because I understood the terms of the contract I had booked under and the Consumer Rights Act. I suggest that Christian familiarises himself with his own terms and conditions as he did not know the following clause existed until I read this out to him: In accordance with Paragraph 8.1.4 of the T&Cs, ‘it is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that the Property is properly maintained, clean, tidy and in good repair at the start of the holiday.’ This clause of the contract was not met. In accordance with Paragraph 11.1, I have ‘the right to immediately end a Rental Contract if the owner breaches its obligations within the T&Cs’. As the owner breached its obligations within this Paragraph 8.1 and in accordance with Paragraph 11.2 of the T&Cs I will receive the refund no later than 14 days of notification of the end of the rental contract. After educating Christian about these terms and conditions he then escalated this to Sykes Holidays. Sykes continued to refuse any refund for the holiday and refused to confirm if they had taken this matter up with the owner. I raised this case with the lawyers and my bank who ruled in my favour and I was refunded the total amount for the property which I was unable to stay in. If you are looking for a stay in Rock or the surrounding areas I suggest you use an alternative local letting agency who manage all properties locally. We ended up staying at the St Mortiz who were more than happy to help and could not believe the service (or lack of!) we had received from John Bray. I am thankful that the case was ruled in my favor and I received all of my money back. But a note to all - just don't book with John Bray or Sykes Holidays!

21st Feb 2025 (5 weeks ago)Disclaimer: We were looking for a commercial lease and did not proceed however we were impressed with the service and communication from Thomas. We cannot report on the experience after this point. We were interested in a property in Truro and had Thomas Hewitt show us around. He arrived promptly and was respectful. He gave us clear updates each step of the way after the viewing up until the heads of terms. Unfortunately due to external circumstances we were unable to pursue the lease beyond this point, however we were impressed with such frequent updates from the agent even if it's to say when I can expect a response to the questions we asked. Thank you for your time, hopefully we can be back in the future with our financials in order.

Kept us well informed throughout our purchase.- 6th Mar 2025 (20 days ago)We stayed at Gwel Teg, a pleasant modern bungalow that's very well equipped with easy parking, a wonderful view across the Camel estuary, and only a convenient short walk into Padstow itself. Highly recommended. (Book early - we had no problem with availability at the end of February, but summer holiday weeks fill up very quickly)

22nd Feb 2025 (5 weeks ago)All of the team at Pilkington Estates were friendly and knowledgeable. It was great to be able to call or text and get a prompt response, which is something we were unable to achieve with our previous agent. They were able to sell our property but we did unfortunately take a significant hit. We would have preferred to have achieved more from the sale but we’re pleased to have sold to a couple who fell in love with our home which is great to know as we have invested time, money and love into it during our decade of ownership. Thank you to the team for supporting us in our move!

31st Jul 2024 (7 mo. ago)Our overall experience with Bettermove is one of disappointment. They sold a model whereby they would market our property to their pool of investors. Essentially they put our house on Rightmove for a slightly higher price then they said they would pay us and left it there. I had to chase for updates and when they responded it was to say that their investors thought the price was an issue! So why didnt you speak to us about that and say what we thought to reducing. I dont actually think they've got investors, just people who want a cash purchase in certain areas. Fortunately we didn't pay Bettermove any money for their services and we ended the contract as soon as we could
