It seems they are able to rent properties during the night! Congratulations to you! Either they are "ghost" properties or they don't want to rent to reliable people even if they are on benefits and can afford to pay their rent every month on a regular basis! Not accepting applications from people with benefits is discriminatory and against the law!

I've just completed a purchase using C James (I used them 10 years ago as a first time buyer and now back in the area used them again) and it was another great experience.
I had some difficulties with COVID during the purchase which caused a delay of several weeks on my side, but Bob at C James kept the seller onside when he could have easily (and understandably) walked away.
Really appreciate the work they put in to get the deal over the line, even taking on some of the expense caused by my delay.
Would definitely use them again.

36 years of consistent excellence from CJ James, Colliers Wood - Simon & Bob. Enabling the fastest completions possible! My mum bought her place through Simon in 1997, and I also bought my first home with Simon in 2004, they also helped me rent it, I then sold it in 2015 (Bob)- we completed in 6 weeks. I purchased a flat through C James in 2004 and for some years rented it through them too. I had no hesitation when selling the flat to ask them to handle the sale. Bob Mash was the key contact and he went above and beyond in helping me get it over the line. He was always available (even on days off) to talk through issues, was helpful and responsive to my issues and equally helpful and responsive to the purchasers's needs too. He helped the whole process go through very smoothly and I can honestly say, having bought and sold properties throughout may life (I am 67 now), that Bob was exceptional in his service. Always cheerful, helpful and efficient I can't recommend his firm more highly.

I chose C James & Co to be my estate agents when I sold my house due to their unrivalled experience and knowledge of the local market for over 20 years. I was impressed by their professionalism and their calm and reassuring approach. They managed the sales process expertly, addressing my concerns sensitively with advice that was always spot on, and I was pleased with the price the property was sold for. I highly recommend them. I was very surprised to read some of the other reviews, many of which seem to be from disgruntled tenants with complaints arising from difficulties with their landlords rather than with the agents.

If he speaks to new potential customers in this manner, I truly worry for existing tenants.

As a prospective tenant, the attitude and general demeanour of the agent we dealt with when viewing a property was nothing short of shocking.
The agent turned up late, didn't welcome us but scolded us like schoolkids for not respecting the Covid "safety protocol" (that wasn't communicated to us in advance) because the existing tenant kindly invited us to look at the property since the agent was late. Passed that incident, the agent barely had anything to say to us, looked in a hurry to let us go and never reached out afterwards.

They are great until you rent flat and then is a problem with arranging anything, lie terribly like all the agents, they did nothing, blaming the owner of the apartment and the owner on them, in addition I had a problem with receiving a deposit, they tried to blame me for things the owner is responsible, after a heavy battle I received it back, but such things should not take place.

Worst estate agents EVER. Worst costumer service EVER. They fully ignore you when you have an issue with your house. Once we gave our notice to live the house they tried to do visits letting us know 20 minuts before.
We had to live in a house with the walls falling down because they didn't want to come and fix it.
When you go to their agency to speak to them they are RUDE and sometimes they are not even open when they are supposed to.
Worst experience with an agency in my whole life, this last year living in a house that they rent was an absolut NIGHTMARE.
1/5 because I can't give 0.
They replied to me just to keep liying I got the emails where I tell them about all the problems in the house.
You have 2,1 stars but it seems like you think everyone it´s wrong, right?
I don´t know… I think there is a reason for you guys to have 2,1 stars.

SHOCKING..... told me loads of lies to get me to rent my flat..... took ridiculous long to sort out repairs and were unbelievably rude on the phone. .. I would NOT recommend or use this company . . All they want it's your money. . No customer service AT ALL!!!
After reading the reply below I can only think they are talking about another person as I have NEVER in my life been described as rude and luckily I still have all my emails to prove this, I complained about how I was spoken to on the phone and stated that I only wanted to correspond via email because of this. . I also was only in my previous property for 4 years not 7.... so clearly they are not speaking about me and can't even get this information correct. .. the service I've come to expect for this company.
I have email evidence of how rude and unprofessional you have been towards me and have no desire to continue this 'back and forth' with you. .. you know full well what you did and how you behaved towards me. . Let's just be glad we no longer have to deal with each other.....
Your argument would be more valid if you didn't have all the other similar reviews.

It is a thoroughly miserable experience letting a property with this company, avoid at all costs. I (like every other seemingly genuine review I can see) wish I could give zero stars rather than one; perhaps even that would be too generous.
Having now moved to a different south-west London estate agency, I now receive constant and polite care from landlords and letting agents who accept we are all on the same side and I could not be happier so perhaps I should be grateful to C James for demonstrating just how horrific letting can be. Now I cherish every time I communicate with sensible, polite people.
The properties may be reasonable in price at C James but the cost to your long term wellbeing is not worth it.

Phil and Mark have always been very helpful and attended any tenant issues very quickly and professionally. I also bought the flat through the company and Bob and Simon were again very professional and resolved all the queries without any fuss.

its a shame you cant give 0 stars. I own a property below one that is managed by CJames, i have had to repair my celling twice already and just had a third leak from the property managed by them, they have sent round people to "fix" the issue up stairs but refused to repaint my celling both times. However the most recent time the leak was so bad the celling needs replacing as does the floor. If CJames had done their job the first or second time round and fixed whatever issue is causing so much recurring damage to my property it wouldn't be so bad but the last leak was only around 4 months ago.
Just to add to this review I have left a few months ago, This issue is still on going. CJames agreed to repay the costs of the repair after I served them with a Letter before action prior to taking them to court. However after having paid for the repair I still have not been reimbursed and have been left out of pocket. They have since refused to repay me and said that the owner will repay me directly (also yet to happen). Court proceedings are being started on the 25th of Feb. I will update this post with the outcomes. unfortunately belligerence seems to be the only way to deal with CJames, I would strongly suggest never to use them.

I am basing this on my first interaction with this company a few months ago. The company is absolutely ghastly in terms of customer service. It’s a shame there are so many good properties with them, however i would rather pay a higher rent and go to a different agent. There is a lady by the name of Grace who is shockingly rude, and very dismissive, I would avoid going in when she is there at all costs due to the absolute lack of professionalism. No-one in the office has any clue what they are doing. I feel very sorry for the current tenants who are with this company. Not even worth one star.

Terrible agency, they don't care about nothing. 0 comunication between them and tenants, rude and arrogant stuff. They won't help you with anything, don't even come to work some days they should be open. The worst experience ever. Not recommended, avoid at any cost

Terrible experience. C James are awful letting agents. When trying to get damage fixed at our flat they were slow, poor with contact, and cantankerous when we tried to make a formal complaint. They are absolutely not worth the money they charge.
I would love to give a 0/5 review but it's just not possible on Google.

Unfortunately my land lord is using them as agency. I talked few times to agents trying to sort out few problem in a flat I am renting. Last time I've been tread with disrespect and I felt NO attitude each time I had to talk to them. I must mention the name: Mark - this agent is best making my mind to give C James lowest score possible. Avoid them if you can!
