Cardens have been the agent for the flat I've been renting for the last 12+ years, and they have always been incredibly helpful.
Whenever I've had to contact them about something I get a reply quickly. Beverley in particular has always done her best to help, despite not being the assigned manager for my property she has still been happy to be my point of contact and replied to every single email I've sent over the years. She has also been very approachable, in fact all of the Cardens staff I've interacted with have been friendly.
I was actually going through some difficult times a couple of years back and Cardens really went above and beyond to help, whereas most landlords & estate agents would've simply just moved on to another tenant.
Of course having a fantastic landlord who is very understanding helps, but Cardens have been just as great and thanks to their help I am in a far better situation now. I am grateful to have been able to keep my tenancy for 12 years, which gives a sense of security even during these difficult economic times.
From my experience I would definitely recommend Cardens as a lettings agent.

Cardens is a great agency, both Adam and James have always been extremely reactive as well as kind throughout my tenancy. Adam was particularly helpful and proactive in helping me get my tenancy taken over!

Avoid these like the plague. I lived in a property for 8-5 years. They’ve not returned my deposit. I looked after the place like my own. I’ve referred to the tds scheme. My advice is do not pay your last month rent when moving out. They are scamming you. Joke.

Was with Cardens for a few years, and they're certainly not the best. I was spoken to in a patronising way when I first moved in by the agents, then throughout the tenancy the communication from them was either flippant or lacked any sort of urgency, where I had to send chasers for emails I had sent them on multiple occasions.
When one tenant moved out and another in, I was assured that that the contract wouldn't have to change with no further minimum 6 months tenancy period, for them to write up a new contract and change their mind the day before the new tenant was to move in with an admin fee that I was previously uninformed of.
They also conducted a visit without informing either of the tenants and then claimed they had contacted us before their visit, which was untrue and couldn't provide any emails to back up their argument.
On the positive side, the property manager at the end of my tenancy was polite and friendly, which was a change from what I had previously encountered.

I couldn't recommend this agency more. All of my dealings were with Adam. He was so helpful setting up my tenancy and when I had to drop out and find a replacement, he helped me with everything and kept me completely updated with what was happening with the landlord and the prospective tenant. Adam was so kind and I felt that I could ring him with any questions I had. I would definitely use Cardens again.

I rented a room through this agency during my semester abroad. Several details about the rental property were not correct. The washing machine could only be used after the tenants themselves bought an extension cable at the DIY store. The house was in a run-down condition. After my semester abroad ended, the agency made no effort whatsoever to help me find a new tenant, even though I was in dire financial straits. I had to pay two thirds of the rent for a vacant room. Although I only lived in the room for a short time and I was almost never in the room, the agency tried to keep my deposit by all means. The agency claimed that there had been a cleaning for several hundred pounds. We tenants were able to prove that this cleaning never took place and the agency could not produce a bill. After being caught lying, they paid the deposit several weeks after the end of the tenancy. Although she could no longer claim any defects, I was paid £50 too little. My enquiry about this has been ignored ever since. It is no exaggeration to say that this agency is corrupt and has no qualms about exploiting people.

Andy helped us through an aggregated sale with multiple parties. It was a pleasure working with him and his personable approach gave us confidence during the sale. He acted as a great mediator between both parties during the negotiation stage and was always very responsive when we needed any additional information. I would highly recommend Cardens.

We went with Students at Cardens and had a fantastic experience all year. The landlady left the house immaculately for us to move into. Ethan and the team were very helpful throughout the year and responded quickly to any issues that arose.

Cardens took over the tenancy of our student house half-way through the year, and immediately the improvements we saw in the management was significantly better. Ethan was our property manager and he was extremely attentive. Monthly check ins to make sure we didn't have any issues, new bathrooms, new boiler and any other issues we had were solved in a matter of months. There is still a lot to be done with the house but they were very respectful of our wishes to postpone construction until we weren't living in there anymore. I hope next year's tenants are able to enjoy appreciate the new features of the house as well Cardens management as much as we did.
