Terrible experience with them. I read the review stupidly before i didnt listen so hopefully the next person does. Firstly, contact is poor, very rude administration, i paid 4 months of rent a week early / days early sometimes (i don’t have to) one day i paid rent they accused me of not paying on time as they’d left office early on a Friday and claimed I was a day late and was extremely rude to me, I provided proof and they admitted they were wrong. Secondly the repairs they provide are abysmal. My hob cooker was on max level hest ad the previous tenant had ruined it, they replaced all non-matching odd buttons, looks awful. Didnt even fix it either, wallpaper was cracking due to poor installation and air gaps, and their repair man came out to complete a patch up job of some form of grey adhesive on white wallpaper, and didnt even cover the cracks. Complete disregard to peoples problems and just want money out of you, also the older woman said i could end my tenancy as long as i give notice, now they changed their mind and want me to pay £500 or they wont communicate with the landlord Avoid at all costs.... I advise everybody to avoid Carters Letting Agents and local Landlord William Bruce. This year I was seriously ill for six months, resulting in emergency surgery to save my life. During this time they issued me a section 21, and I moved into a new property the day after I was released from hospital afyer being there for 4 weeks, still with two surgical drains attached, and incredibly limited mobility. Being fully aware of this information they went after my deposit and have today been awarded just over 1000 pounds, after the section 21 cost me nearly 3 grand, and rinsed the rest of my savings. During the time I was in hospital they issued notice to my landlord without my consent and before my new property had been confirmed. I questioned this whilst I was in hospital and was told 'not to worry' despite this being a move that could have made me and my 15 year old son homeless, and given on a date that left me no time to have the property cleaned properly. They have made no allowances for my very serious illness desite being fully informed, and created extra stress and financial worry. In the meantime the house has been renovated for sale, and I believe my deposit is paying for that. Their behaviour towards me after 5 years of tenancy has been disgusting, and they have used my vunarability as a tool to extract more money. Apparently this landlord owns numbers of houses in wolverton. Beware.... Read more

Firstly try to deal with Kelly, she’s polite and courteous and does what she says. Unfortunately the rest were fairly unhelpful I emailed a director twice after he gave me incorrect information resulting in me paying for searches only to find out my buyer didn’t have an adequate mortgage offer in place and hadn’t completed on her sale as we were advised. 4 weeks later we were informed this hadn’t happened my sale fell through and I lost the property I was due to buy and money I could ill afford. I used Carters Estate Agents in Stony to sell my house. From first contact to completion day, the service was professional, friendly, responsive and caring. Dave Webb and Kelly Manser have a wealth of property sales knowledge and guided me throughout. The photographs and brochure were excellent too. There is always someone in the office so no call went unanswered and all my queries were followed up with action and answers. Highly recommended and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.... Really awful. Firstly the agent didn’t turn up to the viewing he had scheduled with us and when we rang the office we were told he was off and no one was aware the viewing was booked. Luckily the office was only round the corner and someone else came to show us round. The next morning we emailed the agent to let him know we were interested in going forward with a tenancy and we had a quick response which suggested to me we were good to go as the email noted he just had to “check a couple of things with the tenant” and would get back to us. Three days later after no answer we rang to chase and were told the property had been let to someone else. Absolutely no transparency - if we were advised in the first instance that other tenants were being considered then we would have carried on looking elsewhere. Or even just letting us know as soon as possible that the landlord had other options and chose another tenant but I really don’t think they would have got back to us if we didn’t ring and chase. I aired my frustrations on the phone and the response initially was “you should always call as these properties go quick”. I think that sums it up really.... Read more

I would like to advise to anyone that is going to make a contract with them , they will do a final inspection and take your 100% deposit and give you 0 back , as they pay ''contractors'' for a x10 of the amount that a normal person would pay. We have spent over 200pounds to leave the house as it was , and the result is they charging us even for gardening when i actually cut the garden and the front garden ( neighbours as witness ) the day before they came to see it and spent 100quid on a good cut machine. They charged us 505 pounds for maintenance and 390 for cleaning , who have they called superwoman? This an absolute joke. Hope this solve the question of NOT GOING WITH THEM. **UPDATE 7 DAYS LATER , we still have not had any confirmation of invoices from THEM as probably dont exist , and they re trying to avoid as as much as we can without giving any information*** Please people this is the worst agent in 10 years I have been renting ! I would not recommend Carters to my worst enemy, the service was shocking from start to finish. We lived in a mouldy home which they was made aware of when we moved in. Took 3 attempts to have the issue resolved but never was properly addressed, until the council was involved. There seems to be a lack of professionalism from certain individuals. The only positive thing I can say is that we were allowed to exit early from the agreement.... Read more

Excellent effort from all the staff here. Sold my property within 1 week, never had any problems. Gave them a key and they carried out all the viewings without needing anything from me. Amy has been brilliant the whole way through keeping me updated when needed along with Emily. Everything from my initial enquiry with Kelly, Mark coming round to value the house right through to exchange has been relatively stress free. A great place to do business with. Would use again in the future if I decide to move again. They were cheaper than the majority of the other agents and provided me with a better service from the off set.... Read more

Please if you have any common sense, do not use this agency. I was treated unfairly by the staff, who were unhelpful during the tenancy and even worse afterwards. They are not honest and will do anything to get money out of you. I was only with them for 6 months and it was the worst experience I've had with any agency. The house you want is not worth it if it's with them.... Read more
