Dexters Chelsea is an absolute gem of a real estate office. I recently moved out of a property managed by Dexters Chelsea & Belgravia and this has been one of the worst renting experiences of my life.
During my tenancy, it took 3 MONTHS for someone to come to fix a non-working cold water tap. I'll let you imagine what it's like to live without cold water (health and safety??). Furthermore, it took a year for someone to replace a MOULDY sealant...
On top of everything else, I am facing a deposit return issue. It has now been 20 days, and I have just been told that they will keep 150GBP of my initial deposit... for what seems to me like normal wear and tear. I also, have yet to receive a report on the so called 'dilapidations'.
Finally, moving into the property was not an enjoyable experience, as the previous tenant had left soiled bedsheets, clothes, pillows which were stated in the inventory as having HAIR on them... and lots of rusty cutlery. It seems that the landlord is complaining about me getting rid of these unhygienic items... What are your thoughts? Should I have kept stained bedsheets and dirty pillows?
I have also been trying to get in touch with them to get a report on why they are charging me 150GBP, with no reply of course...
This has been a very tedious experience for me, I would have hoped that they would show some sort of empathy, understanding or even just acknowledgment of my situation.
I don't recommend renting from or through Dexters Chelsea & Belgravia.

My partner and I are first-time renters and were initially nervous about renting: especially in London. We shouldn't have worried! Percy Bodington and the team at Dexters were extremely helpful and very responsive - every call I made reached a friendly team member and every concern was addressed promptly. One of the most unprofessional dealings I have had with an agency.
I made an offer on a property which was accepted. Soon after there were clear signs that the seller was not serious about the sale, constantly stalling and not providing simple required documents to the solicitors. At that point I was ready to just move on and cut my losses.
Yet the agent consistently assured me that everything was ok, that they personally knew the seller very well, and were in daily contact. Then after nearly 4 months of wait and empty assurances, they simply advised me that the seller had dropped out, and they couldn't do anything about it! The so-called 'great relationship' with the seller was suddenly non-existent.
As a result I incurred significant losses in solicitor fees etc, and missed out on other opportunities. It is also worth adding that during these 4 months I was passed around 3 different agents, including the sales manager himself.
I rarely post reviews, but in this case I feel obliged to warn others not to trust this agency's empty words or promises, and to go with your gut instead. Like I should have done.

Even through the hiccup due to our mortgage company Percy and Fred stayed positive, professional and helped secure the property for us. With the support from Dexters Chelsea I recently rented out a property and subsequently sold a property in SW10. On the lettings side, the process was entirely stress free. Communication was excellent and if at any stage a problem occurred Aaron contacted me with an excellent solution and fixed the problem. During the viewings process i was kept up to date, feedback and advice was honest and effective. After accepting an offer, the team worked tirelessly on my behalf and were always at the end of the phone. Percy worked incredibly hard behind the scenes, was dynamic, approachable and invaluable in achieving a swift exchange of contracts. Although Dexters didn’t manage to actually let my two Chelsea studio flats...I found Hugh, in particular, to be extremely responsive and very helpful with advice. They had a difficult task with very limited viewings between Airbnb guests but were able to block book viewings in the gaps and were always polite and efficient in notifying me of all viewings ...When the current tenancies expire, I will instruct them again!

When I decided to move to Chelsea area a year ago I sent multiple emails to various Estate Agents to try and find a home that covered my needs, Dexters was the first Estate Agent that really understood what I was looking for and the Team made great efforts to try and accommodate property viewings into my busy schedule. I found my home within 2 weeks since the viewings started and one of the reasons why I chose it was because it was managed by Dexters and after the positive experience that I had while looking for a house I knew I would be in good hands.
Dexter Property management Team has always done a good job when issues arose but my new property manager Rupal P. has gone over and beyond the expectations. She has always done an excellent job since she took over the management of the property by coordinating services when inconveniences happened to ensure everything was done at convenient times and meeting high standards, she would always respond to my emails within minutes if on duty and would try to contact me via telephone to keep me updated me on progress of works and other property issues within the next working day.
Overall, I am very happy I made the decision of renting this property with Dexters and I would highly recommend Dexters Chelsea Agents.

We needed to complete purchase in 4-6 weeks, Lucy at Dexters made it happen. We can't thank her enough for the personal service. Every time we phoned or emailed we received virtually an immediate response. If she wasn't available every other member of staff was friendly, helpful and passed messages on. We continually felt our business was important to them and we were supported. We hope our next purchase can be though Lucy and Dexters again, so easy.

Before I went to Dexter, I contacted a few agencies. They showed me a few decent flats, but they were still not quite what I was looking for. Since the Dexter has many flats and houses for the area that I wanted to live , I decided to contact them. Matt at Chelsea office came back to me with a house it was a perfect match for what I wanted. Every time when I come up with questions, I would write him and he would come back to me immediately by a call or mail within the day. Before I contacted Dexters, I looked for a house to move for more than a month, but with Dexters it took me a day!

I was about to give the gig to another agent but Dexters were persistent (not to the point of irritation). My thoughts were that they would hopefully replicate this energy and enthusiasm re selling the property so I was turned at the last minute. Very pleased that I was. It was a tough market but they kept on picking up the phone and generating viewings. A very no nonsense approach. In the end they managed to grind out a result so am pleased that I gave them the instruction. Would highly recommend.

We contacted a number of letting agents earlier this year and Dexters in Chelsea were by far the best. They provided a wide selection of high quality flats to rent in the Sloane Square area matching our criteria. Ashley and his colleagues were very helpful and knowledgeable and we ended up paying a bit more than we planned for a great flat in a great location.
