Danny was friendly and personable and unlike some other agents was not pushy and didn’t go for the hard sell, rather letting his experience and knowledge of the market speak for itself. He responded quickly to my queries and took any concerns seriously. He was more than happy to come back and retake pictures of the garden as I wasn’t happy with how the first ones came out. My only negative is that I feel the first viewings were put off for too long and could have been done sooner.

I chose Eric Clarke agents as they were local and in business for many years. I was not wrong to do so, my house sold the day after it went on the market! We cannot recommend Eric Clarke highly enough. From the initial valuation to completion of the sale of my late in-laws home, we received a first class service from all the team. Everyone we came into contact with was polite, understanding, helpful, honest in their opinions and knowledgeable. We have no hesitation in recommending Eric Clarke for the sale of a property. The property was vacant with no chain and even though we were told to expect a lot of interest and a quick sale, we did not anticipate 3 offers within 4 days of the property being marketed. In our experience you will receive a first class service from an estate agent who really cares and knows the market.

Rudest staff, no communication within the office, so unhelpful, avoid avoid avoid
Called to book a viewing and was told ‘shes not here so I can’t book it’ I asked ‘when will she be back please’ the women on the phone replied ‘well I don’t know because she’s not here to ask is she’
I let this go and called back a few days later to book the viewing. Got booked in and was sent an application form. Of course I filled out the form. I was then sent a very rude email stating the application would be sent after a viewing, fine, went to the viewing where there were 4 other people viewing at the same time, the estate agent was exceptionally overstretched to the point it came across rude. Having to keep turning her back during conversations, left alone to walk round without any knowledge of the property given and no chance to ask questions and then had to openly discuss finances infront of all the other people viewing. I was told I would be called later that day to state if my application would still be sent off due to it being sent in too early. I was not called, waited until the following day and received an email asking if I wanted to view the property. I replied to the email to find my email had been added to a block list!!!! Absolutely appalling customer service, rude staff, so glad I realised this before committing to a property with them!!!

Eric Clarke estate agent in Farnworth really should change their name to “NOT ERIC CLARKE ANY MORE”. The original Eric Clarke was a well-known friendly, helpful, customer focused family business.
The new Eric Clarke estate doesn’t work on Saturdays so you can’t arrange a viewing on a Saturday. This discriminates against people that have full time jobs. If you ask for a weekend viewing, you are rudely told to “make time” during the week. This means that everyone has to take a day off from their Monday to Friday job if they wish to view an Eric Clarke property. Surely an Estate agent, like any other retailer, should be there for the benefit of their customers, not the other way round?
They are not at all flexible with their viewings, either. The woman on phone told me that I could view a house on a Monday. But I couldn’t get a day off on Monday so I asked for Tuesday. She said NO, they don’t have viewings for Tuesday!
When I asked why Eric Clarke can’t “make time” for the buyers, she just repeated arrogantly, “No, we don’t work on Saturdays” before she hung up on me. What type of customer service is that?
Eric Clarke is the only estate agent I know who won’t allow me to make an offer without having first viewed the property with them.
Over the years I have bought and sold several properties with the original Eric Clarke, including the one that I am currently living in. Now I am interested in a property that they are selling, which I have previously viewed with another estate agent only a few days ago. Inexplicably, they will not allow me to put an offer in on this house because I have not viewed it with “them”. But they refuse to let me view it on a Saturday, which is the only day I am free to view it. Or a Tuesday when I could get someone to cover my shift.
I lost the chance to view/purchase another property with them not long ago due to their inflexibility in their viewing arrangement.
Is Eric Clarke an estate agent? If so, isn’t it your sole job to sell properties for the vendors who pay for your service? Do your vendors even know that you are making it so difficult for people with full time jobs to view their properties?
So Eric Clarke, how can people buy a property with you when they work Monday to Friday, when you do not work Saturdays or Sundays, and don’t do viewings in a flexible way during weekdays?
In my opinion, the new Eric Clarke is making viewing your property difficult because they are so inflexible with their viewing arrangements.

In my opinion, this estate agent should stop using Eric Clarke’s name, because it is an absolute insult to the reputation of the original Eric Clarke family business.

From the initial phone call to ask for information to the end handing over the keys everything was simple and efficient. Dan was available to answer any queries and if he said he would return a call he did. It was my first experience of selling a property, Dan called to value the property and it was sold less than a week later. Very impressed. I would highly recommend this estate agent. Payment for the sale of the house was the same time as the email saying it had been completed. Exceptional.

After placing our property on the market we had a confirmed offer which we accepted within two weeks. Wednesday afternoon 23rd March a house was put on the market that my partner and I were interested in. That evening we sent an email to Eric Clarke stating our interest and made a full offer the seller was asking, even though we hadn't viewed the property. This was followed up the following morning reiterating our interest and again made the offer. This was rejected by the agency as we couldn't make an offer without viewing the property first. I then asked for a viewing as soon as possible as we didn't want to lose out on this property only again to be turned away as they hadn't arranged anything with the vendor to make such arrangements and it would be the following week before anything can be arranged. So, how is it, this property has been sold by Friday 25th March if viewings can't be arranged?

Arranged a viewing with the person on the phone for 13.50. Checked my email before the viewing for the address and it said 12.50. It was clearly their mistake as the phone was on speaker when I made the appointment and everyone I was with at the time also heard 13.50. Called them up at 12.55 and still offered to be there by 13.05 at the latest despite it not being my fault and they refused. I've dealt with many estate agents in the past around the area but have to say these are the worst. Terrible company and avoid at all costs!!!
