What a great service Evenmore Properties gave us as we rented out our first property. They explained exactly what they needed from us and quickly got a lot of viewings for our property. They vetted potential renters and using their experience they offered us a recommendation on the most suitable renter. This was invaluable to us.They helped source some insurance for us allowing us to get a very competitive quote. They have continued to provide a great service, communicating in a timely and helpful manner. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Making the decision to sell your home is not an easy one, especially when it is your first sale, based on this I wanted to ensure I got the best price, hence I had two estate agents working on the sale, but it soon became apparent that this was a one horse race.
The first thing that made Evenmore Properties stand out was the 365 virtual tour of the property, this was carried out and the advert was online the same day I instructed them to sell, giving the prospective buyers that immediate feeling of being inside your home, really does make the advert stand out.
Evenmore Properties provide a brilliant online portal, where you can view all the statistic about your sale, from the number of people viewing the advert per day/week, right down to the number of people who have viewed the 365 virtual tour. Alongside this each and every viewing; offer and potential buyers feedback is available 24/7, allowing both yourself and Evenmore Properties to make informed decisions.
Once you have agreed a sale with a buyer each step of yours and the buyers solicitors process, is displayed with the dates that it has been completed, giving you a full overview of the progression to completion.
However don't think that you will just get a web link, throughout the advertising; offering and completion Wayne and his team kept me updated on a regular basis, they really did provide the personal service, from the valuation and even after the sale they were in regular phone contact and were always happy to answer even the most silliest of my questions, you could really tell they care about their clients.

Went to view a property and put an application in. Several days later was informed the landlord had choose another tenant. I get this happens but the lack of communication is shocking. I rang the estate agent who said they were waiting on landlord response. Today I received a notification of them choosing another application. I just think a 2 min phone call is a better way of communication since I hadn’t heard anything inbetween this.

I am delighted by the service provided by Evenmore Properties both as a landlord and as a seller. At all stages of either renting out or selling l was kept fully informed, which was greatly appreciated. The staff were always very helpful. Some years ago, before using the services of Evenmore, l used another Durham based agent and the experience was not good. I have recommended Evenmore to friends who have rental properties and know of at least one who has engaged the services of Evenmore and their new tenant moves in soon. A very quick and efficient service and a delight to work with. Highly recommended.

I have now quite a few years of experience with Evenmore Properties, first as a buyer of a property and then as a seller. On both occasions the experience has been superb to say the least. As a seller I must say that my experience has been very good from the very first day of posting the pictures online to finally finding a buyer and seeing the sale through, and the whole process in between. They have a small, but extremely efficient, warm hearted and genuinely helpful, team that I want to recommend to anyone trying to sell or buy (or rent) in the Durham city. Among the team members I have interacted with Craig on almost weekly basis, and then also with Alisa (very good photography work) and Lorna. All are very good people.

Unprofessional and petty. They did a house inspection (without masks!!) every 3 months. During the last inspection two people arrived without masks and were incredibly invasive during their inspection. Cupboards were looked in, they shook the garden fence violently to see if it would fall over. One of the people was lovely (I believe they were a trainee) but the other was incredibly rude. An attitude that only appeared when meeting my transgender partner. We paid extra money every money which was called "pet insurance" and then we were denied any of our nearly £800 deposit because of 'damage' done by our cats. The damage cited was either already there when we moved in or was caused by having two kittens. What were we paying the extra money for?? They charged us for the carpeting when we were told when we moved in that it wasn't laid properly and was already coming up. When we contacted them about black mould and water damage in the walls of the bathroom we were ignored for months and then told to use household cleaner to remove it. Every email we sent was ignored and even when we call would their office they said they would get back to us and then didn't. They used the old 'oh looks like our email didn't send' lie most recently when trying to find out about our deposit nearly 2 months after we had moved out and all our emails had been ignored. Unacceptable, do not use this letting agency they have no respect for their tenants and only care about sucking the last penny out of people who really can't afford it. Would give 0 stars if possible. The difference between how we were treated while on a contact vs when we were paying month by month was obvious and disgusting. EDIT: they responded to this review within 2 days of it being posted and on a weekend but we were left weeks if not months without any response to real issues and only after calling their office multiple times. Your attitude is very obvious and no, I will not be taking this review down (as I was asked) and everything said is factual. I was not asked permission for you to enter the property without masks as I would have said no, I was wearing a mask the entire time, why would I have consented? I do not trust that information was documented correctly but it will be my word against yours and you're the one with all the money. You only have to look at the other reviews here to see all the 5star ones are from landlords this company has helped rip off tenants and all the 1 star reviews are from ex tenants. Hm. Interesting, no?

We used Evenmore properties to sell our house, they were amazing, our house was sold within the week. When Ailsa came to do the valuation she asked at the door if we would like her to wear a mask ( we said no it was fine). She asked again when she had to come back to take the photos. We felt like our health and safety was a concern for her.
Either Ailsa or Craig came and did the viewings for us and gave us plenty of notice as to when they were coming and also informed us when they had left the property. They looked after us in every way as it was our first time in selling a house they recommended a brilliant mortgage company for us and then a fantastic solicitor also. Whenever we contacted them if Ailsa or Craig weren't there they would ring us back as soon as they could or the others in the office where there to help us with our queries.
Evenmore provided us with exceptional service, All the staff were helpful and professional but a huge shout out to Ailsa and Craig who helped take the stress out of the sale of our house for us and if we decide to move again we will be calling Evenmore Properties with out a doubt.

I have moved several times in my life and I can honestly say this (I hope my final one) has been made so easy, through using Evenmore Properties. I felt all the negotiations, were transparent, open and honest and I at no time felt stressed by the process, they kept in continuous touch with myself, my purchasers and my solicitor to keep everything moving in a timely and orderly manner. Forever, grateful, they may be one of the smaller local estate agents, but I would not go past them if ever looking to move again, I had the same amount of viewings as I would have anticipated I would have had with some of the larger companies and their personal as well as professional touch offering reassurance and assistance throughout was exceptional. We sold our house through Evenmore, It was only on the market a couple of weeks before they secured us an acceptable offer. The 360 degree tour was ideal in the current climate as people could look around the house without actually having to visit. We were regularly update on how things were progressing and with the online tools we could check how many viewings the property was getting on the internet. We were very please with the service we received and would have no hesitation in recommending Evenmore Properties.

as a student you don’t want to be a tenant with evenmore. will want to turn up without giving 24hr notice, didn’t show up for a viewing so I had to show some freshers around the property. they accused us of causing there to be mould in the property when it was in fact due to the poor ventilation and structure of the house. i had mould in my bedroom and they didn’t seem to care. me and my fellow tenants have spent time writing emails to them for them to either a) ignore or b) reply with grammatical errors and misunderstanding, this is especially disappointing as these people are paid to do this job. if you try to contact them you will get multiple different people replying to you. All in all they seem unprofessional and uncaring about their tenants, very disappointing.

I used Evenmore to help rent out my property for about two years and had no complaints during this time. They were very responsive, easy to deal with and hard working. I decided to use them when selling the property at the start of 2018 and they were fantastic. They kept me informed at all times, were extremely good value for money, and got me a much better price than I had expected (and in a very timely manner). I would thoroughly recommend them for both renting and selling.

The property required lots of minor repairs and they were organised and carried out very efficiently and at a reasonable cost. Easily the best people to go with as a tenant! They have been quick to reply to every query or request and each member of staff is incredibly friendly.
The amount of support when deciding on a house was great. We spent several days discussing individual needs and preferences, I was shown 4 houses, all of which would have been perfect.
Inspections are rare and ample notice is given, they are thorough and honest, helpful for both the tenant and landlord. I won't be tempted to go to anyone else when it comes to buying a house.

My dealings with Evenmore Properties have always been an absolutely great experience, both as a tenant and as a landlord.
As as a tenant, the staff would react immediately when anything was broken and it was very straightforward to contact them.
As a landlord, I was amazed how smooth, uncomplicated and quick their tenant-find service was. I am in regular contact with the staff, which again is quick and uncomplicated despite me living abroad. I can highly recommend their service. Thank you Evenmore Properties for everything you have done for me so far.

Unfortunately as a former tenant I was very unhappy with the service provided by Evenmore. I found that requests for repairs etc would be met with "we've asked the landlord" followed by a long wait, needing frequent pestering. It also feels as if the company makes its money by tricking people with hidden fees. For example when we moved in we asked if it would be ok to have a pet - the response was "no problem, but there is additional cost to the deposit". This additional deposit cost was not the problem (it is reasonable after all, and would be returned if no damage), but when we aquired a pet within the first week and informed the agency we were told that we would need to pay an additional "adding-a-pet-to-the-contract" charge of £75 on top of other costs. I faced similar issues with reduction from the deposit - sadly it feels as if this is where the company makes its money.

I have found my time as a rental tenant with Evenmore very frustrating and disappointing. We lived in a house managed by Evenmore for three years, and during that time we made multiple complaints about the house being infested with SLUGS, about it being damp, and about general repairs needing done - but we do not feel that Evenmore took these issues seriously or addressed these issues quickly enough (some repairs took many months to resolve and the slugs were an on going issue, which prompted us to move out). We had a very negative (and expensive) experience at check out too, despite us leaving the house in a good state and us using a professional cleaner recommended by Evenmore - this is just one example of the ways we felt Evenmore would find additional, unethical ways to charge its tenants unnecessarily. More generally, throughout our time as tenants we felt Evenmore were very intrusive, insensitive and inflexible, e.g. insisting on doing a routine boiler check on a day I was being released from hospital following surgery, or calling us during our honeymoon despite our (understandable!) requests for them not to contact us during this time. I cannot emphasise enough how much I do NOT recommend this agency!

Do not recommend. Certain members of staff were highly unprofessional over both phone conversations and in person, finding them to be abrupt. Additionally, the staff seemed to lack a basic understanding of the legitimacy of a 'signed written agreement'. Following a prolonged conversation with the colleges at the agency, we were not issued an apology, and are still yet to receive any notification of apology/explanation (apart from a very abrupt email). Finally, they gave the impression that they did not take us seriously/did not treat us with respect, I can only assume that this was due to our student status.

This is the second time I have used Evenmore to find a tenant. I can't recommend them enough - an extremely friendly, professional family business. Each time within two weeks they have found excellent tenants.
I have tried other Durham estate agents and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They are interested in your needs, professional and maintain communication throughout! They conduct the viewings and offer an excellent tenant finding service!!

I was one of their long-term tenants and during the period of my tenancy, I found Evenmore Properties to be a very professional and easy agent to deal with. The staff are friendly and helpful and any issues arising were always dealt with promptly and satisfactorily (for example, during my time in their property, Evenmore Properties replaced a fridge and washing machine with brand new items the same day I reported the fault to them).
I would not hesitate to recommend Evenmore Properties to anyone.

When our washing machine broke they rang their trusted contractors and had the problem solved almost immediately. I would definitely recommend this agent to my family and friends.
