An agent that relies on 'old boy networks' with solicitors as friends etcetra to provide false and verbal information to push through sales. This company actually succeeded in stopping me purchasing a property because of their longwinded games, incorrect and withholding information 'to avoid opening a can of worms' or to 'save their client money'.
Huge misinformation givers like 'there are no service charges' to giving the names of the wrong managing agents. Another one is claiming that the sale is a probate when it was power of attorney. Then continuing with these false claims six months later inspite of the real situation being pointed out both by myself and my solicitor.
The house in Horse Sands Close overlooking Langstone Marina (the Lighthouse) has a retaining wall with structural issues and potential liabilities because of a balcony that has no planning permits leaning on it through struts. Albert believes 'a new buyer wont notice the problems'.
A lot of expense on engaging solicitors, surveyors and interest lost on keeping money available on a cash purchase. I can prove everything that I am saying inspite of Albert trying to do all his business with me at the end of days when the phones were off and now claiming his records are clear.
They also like to threaten to sue you for defamation or putting the house back on the market for objecting to their unacceptable behaviour and prolonged time wasting.
Albert and his solicitor friend refused to provide basic information like proving that Dacks was the actual managing agent for the damaged wall after getting it wrong several times. Right from the start both were refusing to provide information like if the property with a collapsed engineered wall within a metre of the house was piled to ensure that it was not sinking like the wall. Forcing me to take a view without the relevant information. The collapsing wall will need tracking for several years and as it is 18inches wide any damage liabilities for it could fall on the house owner.
No doubt there will be a response to this review and the usual approaches with their own "records" to Google to get all negative reviews directly under their site removed but this sort of thing shouldnt be going on and needs to stop. There is a review site for estate agents called 'allagents'. This has a presentation of opinions regarding Fry&Kent of Southsea and, indeed, there is actually a review by a Chantelle Putnam that mentions about a falsified gas certificate introduced by their rentals. MOST OF THE REVIEWS THAT PEOPLE TAKE THE TIME & TROUBLE TO WRITE IS NEGATIVE FOR THIS COMPANY. Apparently according to Albert, Fry&Kent are suing her for defamation. Which is hard to believe for a review site and especially as she holds the evidence. Like me.
I deal with a lot of estate agents on a daily basis and reserve the right to comment on unethical practice to warn others as its expensive, frustrating and stressful.

Fry and Kent sold my property recently, I would highly recommend them. I had a very bad experience with another Portsmouth estate agent so moved to Fry and Kent, they were helpful at all times and Michelle who I mostly dealt with was brilliant, she was great liaising with solicitors during the process.

I genuinely would recommend Fry & Kent to anyone looking to rent.
Previous to Fry & Kent, I had an awful experience renting through Ashbourne's. However Fry & Kent from the start offered incredible service. From letting us view a property the same-day, to a simple reference process which meant I didn't have to wait too long before I had confirmation.
We had some initial trouble with our boiler and washing machine which Faye dealt with immediately and even went above and beyond by bringing round chocolate and flowers for the inconvenience - a super lovely touch.
With Ashbourne's the process of terminating the contract was an absolute nightmare. However Fry & Kent made it feel like a breeze. The agreed date was stuck to, the check-out process was professional and no argument was needed to get the deposit back (I had to go through TDS to get my deposit back when renting through Ashbourne's).
It's been over 6 months since I rented through Fry & Kent and I'm still pleasantly delighted by the whole experience. I would definitely recommend Fry & Kent to anyone looking to rent.
