I just viewed a flat for 1350 per month. The letting agent told me to take off my shoes only for my clean socks to have to touch a filthy carpet and very mouldy bathroom (including the floor). Ok I wouldn’t know without viewing, but what got me was the letting agent then said there already been many offers for the flat. That’s the same as the flat being taken. I told her if I knew I wouldn’t have taken half a day off work to view (which I have to make up for). That alone made it a waste of my time. I also emailed the agency about this. Both the letting agent and the agency responded with the same rhetoric that they haven’t sent the offers to the landlord yet and I can compete. You have got to be joking right? Even if I wanted a flat I’m not wasting my time going against loads of applicants. The agency could have least let me know before today so I didn’t lose half a day off work for nothing. If they got loads of offers, why even bother showing the place, it’s misleading.

I cannot speak more highly of Grantley, in particular Charlie at Godalming and Gemma at Haslemere branches. This couldn’t have been further from experience I’ve had with any other estate agents. We could not recommend Grantley and, specifically, Ed Brett-Field enough. Ed was instrumental in ensuring that our purchase was smooth and stress-free. He was constantly available, helped to liaise with the previous owners and the lawyers and was a reassuring presence all the way from the first showing to the day of our closing (even showing up in the evening with a bottle of champagne to celebrate together). Great experience! It was our first time renting and we where naturally nervous with all of the paperwork and detail on emails with not having a solicitor review everything like you would when buying and selling, but the team made us feel super comfortable and took us through everything we needed to know. Charlie was very responsive on all emails and questions all the way up to the day we moved in and even met us with the keys! Great experience!

As a tenant I can thoroughly recommend Shonda Underwood of Grantleys Haslemere. With so little stock we needed to act quickly to secure a rental property. Shonda was supremely efficient and quick to respond and I really felt she pushed things along and facilitated the process at every stage.She is friendly, sensible and very professional. Best letting agents I”ve ever experienced. Shonda looked after us in our rented home, she was responsive and always came back quickly with solutions to our little teething problems when we moved in.
Moving in was made simple and we were provided with an in-depth tour of the workings of the house, so we weren’t left to figure things out for ourselves.

I was very disappointed with the service I received from Shonda. Gemma had made an appointment with me & had rescheduled the time for me, knowing fully well I was travelling from far. Shonda then rang me when I had already travelled 3/4 of my journey to cancel. She did not bother to rearrange another time or day saying 3 people had already expressed interest. In my experience of property management expressing interest and actually reserving a property are two different things. I was very disappointed with this kind of treatment given that fuel prices are rising, that she could just drop my viewing at the drop of a hat. Also it seems to me that there is a lot of unnecessary profiling as this funny behaviour only started after I received an email asking me to confirm my surname!! Very sad to see that we still live in ancient times. Please be professional every one has rights despite their ethnic origin!

Susie from Grantley was an absolute godsend and the most helpful and caring estate agent I've ever worked with. I went through a month of house hunting and agencies trying to relocate from the US to the UK, having not the best experience at all and panicking at the process. But finally finding Grantley, Susie made the experience seamless and helped me so much with be being overseas during most of it and being unfamiliar with the UK process. She even helped me find suggestions for yards for my horse. I feel completely at ease knowing I'm taken care of I would recommend Susie and Grantley a thousand times over in this fast paced world where you feel as if you're just another number in the queue.

We had a lunch on Saturday with friends, My wife and I ordered Crab fish cakes, well there was no detectable crab in the mash, some kind of fish though, but not much mainly potato, and for £8.50 a rip off, I then had a chicken satay salad, the salad was good however the few pieces of chicken had been cooked and then had peanut sauce dribbled over, very underwhelming and very overpriced, this used to be a great food pub until Youngs Pubs took it over, what a shame, I was in no position to complain as it was a treat by our friends for her birthday.
We will not be coming back.

Nice pub, friendly staff and fast service especially through the app, but truly terrible burger. Pretty much raw, swimming in grease and blue cheese was so overpowering. Missed the mark by such a long way. Genuinely the worst pub lunch I can remember. Shame because a lovely pub and doesn’t see to be what others have experienced. I guess you’ll just have to find out for yourself!

The Grantley Arms is a good reliable eat, the menu always recognisable but seldom without some change and usually more interesting than most.
We prefer to eat there at midday and in the upper bar. This is not our preferred time to eat but the staff are less anxious and the median clientele less shouty than in the evening. We like the staff; the beer is well kept; we feel comfortable there. A good popular pub.

We had such a good experience with Grantley Godalming Office. We found the property and rang up to arrange a viewing. Charlie booked us in the following day to view the property. He was extremely professional, but at the same time gave us a friendly, warm welcome. The transaction was extremely fast paced. From the day of the viewing, it only took us 2 weeks from the start of the transaction to moving in. THE BEST experience I have had with an estate agent and renting. We mainly dealt with Charlie but the whole team have been wonderful answering any questions we have had- no matter how small they seemed.
Charlie was quick to get us a viewing for our flat, and helped us through every step of the application process. The response to emails/ calls was always quick, and he met us on move in day for our key exchange and to welcome us.
The flat was immaculate, and we were given an information pack with everything we needed in it. I felt like the whole experience was very professional and I could not recommend Grantley enough.

The menu is clever and presentably English. Quality of the food is very good. Space is relaxed and calm. If I were to have a comment that may have cost a star in the evaluation, it would be slow service. We were perched ready and waiting for a goodly time before our order was taken. This was a very different experience from my previous visits where staff attentiveness might be considered over overpowering.
A great lunchtime dining experience. Loved it as a kick off to a weekend.

I was so impressed by everyone who looked after us: nothing was too much trouble, service was impeccable, and they even managed to be friendly, warm and welcoming despite all the masks and social distancing. Also: the food was delicious and the garden absolutely lovely.

I phoned Grantley one morning recently to view a prospective rental property. Susie Salmon answered the phone. Less than an hour later I met Susie at the property. Susie was exceptionally professional, she knew all the details of the property so the viewing left me with no unanswered questions. She smoothed the way to a successful conclusion and thanks to her efficiency I will be taking on the tenancy at the beginning of April. I sent Susie a couple of follow up emails with some queries and her response was immediate with the answers. I’ve been renting for a number of years and have dealt with other agents. Susie leaves them standing and she is a credit to Grantley. A very professional and knowledgeable lady.

We would like to give Ms Susie Salmon a five star review for her excellent service. She matched our criteria with what is available in the market. Her virtual tour video stood out as she included a great and compelling narration. We chose Grantley because of Susie.
What is especially worth mentioning is how considerate and understanding she is and her extraordinary interpersonal skills to mediate between different parties. We were not entirely happy with Grantley's approach to outsource the background check of tenants to another company. But Susie has resourcefully sorted out this particular issue and showed great understanding of our concerns.

We've eaten here twice now and the food was lovely. The second time we sat outside in the heated gazebo and enjoyed the mulled apple cider with sliced rum, if you can get there for Christmas whilst that's still on the menu you'll be doing yourself a kindness!

At first I thought it was individual personality when I was viewing the property but then I met other staff who further proved the professional and friendly culture embedded in the whole organisation. They also didn’t seem to want to do anything about the mould in our flat. Mark was the only saving grace, but some of his colleagues were very unprofessional.

We were staying overnight at a local hotel and saw the reviews for this pub so gave them a call.
Table booked. Hassle-free. So we rolled up.
It was extremely busy (testament to them doing the right thing clearly) but not overly busy as to spoil the night or be heard.
We were seated in the "bar" area and ordered food.
We were served by Chris and he was fantastic. Extremely attentive, advising us on our choices and nothing was too much trouble.
The food was superb and very well priced.
We had a bottle of wine, a coke 2 x mains and 2 x desserts and, as well as tasting fantastic, was less than £70.
Would definitely recommend. 100%. Well done guys and thank you ????

The venison bourguignon was dry, this included the meat and sauce. Apparently it's how the chef wanted it to be (convenient) but his/her guests clearly thought it was very dry (3 out of 8 people at the table chose this dish). The portion of meat in this dish was huge, maybe they were getting rid of it and wanted to reduce their wastage, it would explain why it was dry as it was coming to the end of it's prepared life.

Had a great meal at The Grantley last night - really delicious food (and some creative and interesting choices on the menu). I had the spicy prawns and squid as a starter, and the Kerala veggie curry as a main - both fantastic. I would normally opt for steak but decided to try something different and was glad I did!
Staff were friendly and attentive without being pushy - just right.

First time we went there, was very busy, i waited a lot from that five star pub in surrey, but a bit disapointed, when we got one table, they not clean it after the previous guests, just put it on our order on them crumbs, rubbish, etc. what they left. I moved to the other table many glasses, etc, to clean our table. The food was taste and lovely, the place nice the staff friendly.

What an amazing place and highly recommended for dining. Not sure how this place is managed but the results are an excellent attentive team who made you feel like you were the only people in the place dining. The vegetarian options were very good with options to customise your dish as needed. The veggie curry was brilliant.

My house in Godalming had been on the market with 3 other agents over the course of 18 months. Grantley took it on and from the outset the process took on a service "head & shoulders" above our previous experiences. We were given excellent advice on preparing the house properly for market, potential buyers were thoughtfully and selectively introduced; resulting in excellent feedback and an acceptable offer in a timely fashion all handled by Jennifer. The attention to detail and constant communication throughout the conveyancing process was faultless. Problems were dealt with , both sides of the transaction treated professionally and with care and consideration. After sitting down for only about 5 mins the owner of the pub attacked us and told us to "get the f out her pub" if we weren't going to buy anything, she was absolutely awful and rude, I have never in my life been served in this disgusting way, I do not recommend.
Fortunately this bad service does not run through all the pubs staff as the people at the bar and the waiters and waitresses were very nice.

OK eating and reasonable beer in a Surrey village pub. It's a shame chef doesn't taste the food he produces or, if he does , perhaps he likes it bland (if competently cooked). Dishes of particular note to avoid are pan roasted pollack - tasteless on watery possibly frozen spinach and the tiffin which, whilst tasty in itself, was covered with 1970's style chocolate coverture which added a slimy, fatty finish to a dense biscuit/chocolate confection. I can, however, recommend the burger - really well put together, great flavour and better value than many I have eaten in the past. Overall the Grantley is good enough but could do much better.

My husband and I have just enjoyed our first supper at the recently refurbished Grantley Arms, and it certainly won't be our last! We both chose 'Serrano wrapped monk-fish' off the specials board- a truly delicious choice, served on piping hot plates by friendly, attentive staff. The atmosphere was lovely, a log fire in the corner, candle on the tables and a vibrant buzz about the place. Just about every table full- that speaks for itself on a damp Wednesday October evening. The service wasn't the greatest! We eventually placed our order at the Bar and they weren't that busy!! If waiters keep passing you without a glance and you have been sitting at your table for 20min. It gets a bit annoying especially as we already sat in lounge area having a drink before that.

Wouldn't be in any rush to go back there although we have heard it was a lovely place and it does look very nice!!

Food is poor value for money. The soup ordered was awful; potato and leek; there was not enough to feed a canary in a huge dish. no bread to go with it. Tasted like a packet soup. For a £5 was poor value. The main meal was also poor value. Cold peas, Yorkshire pudding with more air than pudding. And all for £20. The glass of larger for a £5 is very expensive.
The person posting that a family of four can eat and drink for £50 is completely wrong. My meal with a drink was £30.

The staff who brought the food to us and the chips we had were both fantastic and friendly, willing to smile and engage in conversation. However, inside this 'country pub' they were playing elevator/strange music for the beautiful setting. We ordered drinks at the bar from whom I perceived to be the manager who was neither friendly nor welcoming of our presence in the fairly empty pub. He came across as if we needed him to take our order more than he needed our custom and did not fill up the pint glass to the marked line. It has such great potential and I do want to come back, but the combination of these two let-downs was disappointing and I'll look elsewhere in the area prior to giving this pub another go!

Four years ago Grantley were the agents for a beautiful old house needing major renovation just outside Guildford. We viewed on several occasions, trying to work out if it was "the one". We did indeed buy the house and throughout the purchase process the team at Grantley were professional, patient, accessible, helpful and generally a pleasure to deal with. I am now once again house hunting and know that Grantley will be the key agents I look to in order to find another special home.

People claiming this place has lost its character are stuck in the 1950's. I've lived in Wonersh for 25 years and the recent renovation of this pub is one of the best things to happen to the village. People are coming from miles around and rightly so. Very friendly bar staff, the food in the restaurant and the bar is fantastic. Well done.

Lost the previous character to become just another gastro pub. Might as well stick to the Red Lion for fine dining or the jolly farmer for added character.

The refurb! Just wow! Our local has jumped through the roof. Looks beautiful and a great wine list. Friendly bar staff and a great fire relaxation area. Looking forward to the food!

Just been fully refurbished and it's the place to be. Loved the whole pub. Be a great place for a group meal. Will be back lots

Great atmosphere in this very traditional looking English pub. Relatively new ownership has brought refreshed menu and a new sense of vibrancy. Prices comparable to other gastro pubs in the area which makes it shockingly expensive but nice for a treat. Important to book especially at weekends.

Excellent we have eaten in 1 2 & 3 star Michelin restaurants.. I would give my watermelon starter a 10 and the salmon main a 9 only as samphire could have been one notch more cooked but what do I know.. My extremely picky nephew enjoyed his custom plain burger which is a first. Staff excellent. Was a party of 18 with regular celebrations which can go horribly wrong. Not in this case. The Grantley is extremely well managed.
