Fiona has been so helpful and efficient throughout the whole process of selling our house, and a really reassuring, friendly and knowledgeable source of support and information throughout the conveyancing process. She was responsive and on top of things, often chasing other people in the chain and taking responsibility for keeping things moving. We really valued her transparency and straight-forwardness, and clear communication. We were impressed with her during our initial meeting and choose Hinton & Downes because of how well she came across, and are very pleased with that decision now we've reached the end of the process.

Hinton and Downes is the worst estate agents. I asked to view a 2/3 bed property in Harrow Weald and was shown the property by Sophie. I showed my interest on the same day of the viewing and sent the form back and I never got any response back. I sent emails, messages and visited the estate agents personally and asked to speak to Sophie and she wasn't at her desk. When Sophie came out she was abrupt like anything and said 'can I help you' in such an unprofessional and horrible tone. No sense of manners at all. Sophie is definitely in the wrong role and rude like anything you don't want her to be dealing with your lettings. And to this date since over 3 weeks now I havent heard back from Sophie and nor has she even bothered to respond to my messages. With lettings it is a YES or NO answer and if the property is no longer available at least let me know that apologies but this property is no longer available but no, nothing.
If I could it would be a 0 star rating because I have seen lots of properties through loads of estate agents and all have been lovely and filled with manners unlike yourselves.

I was shown a 2 bed flat I really liked because of the price and location. Same day, I sent offer for the property. The lady never bothered to reply. I have emailed her,sent her emails, left voicemails etc. however she is never in the office.
And one time she set viewing for 2 bed house, when I was reached property. She told us tenant is not available right now, I will call or send you email for more update. But she never send email or reply back.
If possible then I will give 0 star.
Very poor communication as they kept me hanging.

Grace (Head of lettings) and Fiona (Sales manager) are everything estate agents should be. Honest, caring, super organised and brilliant communication. I had issues with tenants and with conveyance solictors and I couldnt have got through the problems without Grace and Fiona. Super diligent, professional and going beyond to get things moving. I once went to Hinton and Downs four years ago, while having a walk on high street as I had some extra space to rent and asked for their opinion. Grace attended, listened and and gave me option of renting some part of my house. After two days tenants were viewing my place and new tenants moved in a week's time. It started paying 50% of my mortgage. Recently, again rented the place on a higher rent. Things are even getting better with time so I am one happy customer of Hinton & Downs. All the team is friendly, helpful and very professional.

My mom is a tennant and I noticed the flooring and toilet needed attention. Called hinton and downes over the phone and an arrangement was setup with contractor. Very friendly and professional. Very quickly next 2 working days recieved a phone call for a contractor visitor. The flooring which requires more work is going to be worked on today. Happy with the fact that I recieved updates regarding the situation and the manner in which it was dealt with. Good experience.

0 stars if possible. whilst looking for my next property investments in last 2-3 months around 3/4 properties that were of interest were with this company when looking thorugh rightmove/zoopla etc. on all occasions i phoned to try to book a viewing i was always told all sales staff are busy and someone will call me back. no one ever did. one was of much interest and would have been willing to pay well over asking price. again loss of the seller as never got a call back. also accidently phoned them instead of 'hilton & fox' on one occasion due to similair sounding names as i wanted to put a offer in on a property bid seen (with hilton & fox) but had become sold day before, so wanted to leave a next opportunity offer if things didnt work out with the offer that was accepted already down the ine (it was with hilton and fox and not these clowns). The guy on the phone at hinton and downes took the offer very well knowing kowing its not even a property they have, told me to hold on 1 second while he pullled up my account and said yeah i've noted that ( didnt even ask for my name or anything) i'm not even registered with them as never managed to get a single viewing with them let alone talk to a sales staff to even get registered, so that was abosulote unprofessional garbage, simply should have said we dont have this property maybe youve called the wrong agents...
anyway, i've brought two properties one completed/exchanged and one near enough at time of wirting, (clearly not any that were/are being sold through this incompetent outfit), also the property i was very intersted in buying that was with hinton and downes and they coudnt even get a call back to arrange a viewing after calling 3 times over 3 days, i see is still on the market 3-4 months onwards... unfortunate for the seller.
would not ever do any business with hinton and downes and would never bother calling them again for any porperty listed with them for purchase just a waste of my time even botheing to try and call them.
im assuming all their good reviews are from some satisfied customers, and perhaps they actively ask those ones where they know theyve done well to leave such reviewd, but in reality its a business that simply cant do the basics with all potential buyers and for all there clients selling...
i will stay well clear from them...

I have recently sold and purchased a home with Hinton and Downes. Andrew was fantastic through the whole process, helping and guiding me through the process. I was unable to sell my property with another agent but as soon as Andrew started showing people around, it was sold within a couple of weeks.
For various reasons, the process of both my sale and purchase took quite some time, but Andrew was always supportive and patient with ensuring i didn't lose faith.
I am now so happy in my new home and could not have achieved this without the superb and professionalism service and support from Andrew.

I went to H&D as a first time landlord to seek their help finding suitable tenants. Grace visited me at home to advise what rent to charge and what type of tenant I would like to have. She was knowledgeable and helpful. A number of possible tenants came to view, but the family who moved in were already known to Grace from a previous rental. This was good, because she already knew they were reliable.
There will always be a measure of luck in the tenants you get, but this family was great for the 5 years they rented. There were problems about them leaving, but this was not something Grace could be held responsible for. She did try to negotiate with them. They have left now.
I would recommend Grace and H&D for landlords.

Having lived in Harrow Weald for over 30 years Steve Downes has valued our property approximately once every 8 years so it only seemed right that we should offer our home to Hinton and Downes for marketing when we finally decided to move in October 2017.
Within a week we'd had a very acceptable offer on our house meaning we could then make an offer on the house of our dreams in Bedfordshire. Unfortunately what should have been an easy and straightforward conveyance turned into the transaction from hell.
Over the next 10 months not only did the chain collapse but we also lost the house we wanted so desperately to buy. With pressure from the top of the chain, complexities at the bottom and anxiety and stress in the middle there were many occasions when it would just have been easier to stay put and not move at all.
Thankfully due to the care, consideration and professionalism from Hinton and Downes and their ability to work with other Agents in the chain we were able to re-secure the purchase of our dream-home once more.
Steve Downes has worked tirelessly over many, many months to get us where we all are today, which is completing tomorrow. Steve's communication with all parties has shown dedication, emotional intelligence, professionalism and kindness.
We can not recommend Hinton and Downes highly enough.

I was shown a 1 bed flat I really liked because of the price and location. The next day I put down an offer for the property. The lady never bothered to reply. I have emailed her,sent her emails, left voicemails etc. however she is never in the office and one of her colleagues is "investigating" what happened...
Very poor communication as they kept me hanging.
