I’ll second say that I’m at the sale agreed stage, solicitors actioned, passed from the Consett team to a named individual in J W Wood’s Sale Progression team which is based in Durham.
I’m hopeful and confident that they will be as good as the people I’ve dealt with so far.
I’ve been impressed by J W Wood, Consett. Welcoming and friendly but also, unlike some other estate agents in the area, efficient and professional.
The situation so far has been fairly straightforward but any member of their small team has been able to pick up on the situation and deal with any question that I might have.

They were informative with updates and kept us in the loop and would always ensure viewings at the premises would go ahead if we couldn't make them personally.
When taking the photos of the house feedback was given in terms of ensuring we got the best photos and revisits for the rooms that weren't quite right for the photos.

Firstly I have never used this Estate Agent before, however they came highly recommended by a friend of my Dad.
In simple terms if there was a 6th star then I would have given them that.
From the very beginning they have been ultra professional in everything they have done. The process and the communications have been prompt and user friendly as everything was made clear and my understanding was checked at every stage.
The ladies in the office are very polite, helpful and efficient and are a credit to the organisation however I must make a special mention of Adele. This lady is the person whom I have dealt with the most and she deserves to be recognised. She went above and beyond the normal protocols when dealing with me and was patient in giving me time to make the necessary decisions. She explained every stage and kept me up to date on the activity which I really appreciate, thank you Adele.
The whole process from beginning to end has been so easy and I cannot thank and praise them all enough. From the lady who completed the photography to a very high standard, to quick placement onto the website, the advice on a realistic asking price, to the offer of support with Mortgages and Legal Services, in my opinion you simply cannot go wrong.
While I have no experience of using them for property management, if they have the same people involved with the same standards I do not see there being any issues in this area either.
I highly recommend this Estate Agent to anyone thinking of selling a property.

The team at Consett branch have been fantastic supporting me through the marketing and sale of my property which only took 3 weeks to find a buyer.
Adele, Claire & Olivia have been very professional throughout in terms of communication, providing appointment bookings and updates, as a customer you could not wish for more.
After the sale was agreed Amanda took over and from start to completion I received updates on a weekly basis allowing me to plan my move perfectly, everything went extremely smooth and Amanda was very professional and efficient at all times.

I am not risking selling a home that I love unless I have found a new home that I have viewed and decided to purchase. We recently moved house with JW Wood handling both our sale and purchase, and would have no hesitation using them again. Everyone who helped us during the process was professional and great at their job, but at the same time very friendly and down-to-earth with a genuine desire to help things to progress as quickly and smoothly as possible. Pricing was reasonable and comparable with other agents - and excellent value for the service received.
On the sale side, Alex took some great photos despite a dreary day and provided helpful advice on the valuation, which was in line with our expectations. Dell, Olivia and Clare at the Consett office provided extremely prompt updates and valuable advice during the selling process. Because of interested buyers already on JWW's books, we had viewings lined up even before the property went live online.
On our purchase there were several unexpected technical issues that had to be resolved during the conveyancing process and this took some time (through no fault of JWW). Louise did a superb job of keeping everyone in the chain informed of the latest situation while helping to chase solicitors and facilitating communication to speed things along, all with a very friendly yet professional approach. If it wasn't for her responsiveness and enthusiasm to see progress, it would have taken even longer than it did.
Sometimes glowing online reviews are hard to trust, but please be assured that this one is genuine. Thank you to the whole team at JW Wood for making what turned out to be quite a long and complex process as smooth and pleasant as it could have been.

Unfortunately our sale took a good amount of time (22 weeks for a vacant property with no chain involved!) but that was due to delays beyond the agents control. We had a good experience from the start with Chris Clarkson who took the details, the photos and initially advertised the house for us very professionally. Since then, my dealings have all been with Gill Anderson who I have to say has been superb throughout. She has a very friendly manner and has kept me regularly informed on any news connected to the house sale. As well as phoning me at regular intervals with updates, she responded immediately to my emails or phonecalls. I cannot praise her enough and if my experience with JW Woods is anything to go by, I can thoroughly recommend them as estate agents.

Always professional and willing to help through some testing times. A lovely person to deal with and a credit to the firm.
