Fantastic service from Whites Letting agents. Work was needed between tenancies, painting, flooring & repairs and they scheduled all the contractors for quotes, then the work to be carried out all in time for the new tenants move in date! I’m so pleased with how the house looks, so are the new tenants. A special mention for Alex who kept me up to date throughout with the schedule and completion. Really took the stress away for me. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. If I could give 0 stars I would. Unfortunately that is not an option! If you are thinking of getting an accommodation with them, think again. Right from the customer service to the booking process. I would not reccomend!
Their lack of professionalism is alarming, I spoke to Emma who was so unprofessional, childish and disrespectful. She spoke to me in a condescending manner. It felt like a shouting competition. Her tone of voice was so loud I had to turn down my volume on the phone. When I began to show evidence that there was a lack of communication on their end, Emma began to be passive aggressive towards me. Not only insulting me but also my mother. My sister overhead the conversation and decided to speak in an attempt to diffuse the conversation. To which Emma replied “and who the hell is this I am speaking to now. I don’t need to speak to you. I’ve already spoken to your mum and sister”. She was so rude which her colleagues overheard so I then spoke to Ben (her colleague) Even after giving over the phone she was demanding Ben to to disregard my questions and continue to emphasise her point (which was invalid).
This company also failed to conform to their own terms and conditions. Which stated I have 15 days to respond after sending my deposit. Instead they called me 5 days prior to the deadline and told me I have until the end of that day. Following this, the staff blackmailed me verbatim ‘you won’t be given the accommodation if …’. Not only is it clear that they are scammers who are eager to get the highest bidder. (As there is high demand but lack of supply). It also shows a lack of human decency and no training in customer service. They have demonstrated minimal remorse about this situation despite the personal email I sent to them.
This has made me revaluate whether living there would be a smart idea. As I am unsure if they will be petty and give me an unsuitable accommodation. Tantamount to this I fear for my safety after the blackmail and verbal threats made on the phone. It appears they had a personal issue with me. Baring in mind I have been nothing but polite! Ironically, they tried to flip the situation and say I was rude whilst also denying any responsibility; until I told them I recorded the conversation. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE USE OTHER HOUSING AGENCIES TO AVOID GOING THROUGH SUCH A HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. I FEAR THE RISK OF BEING HOMELESS OR HAVING TO STAY IN NY HOMETOWN TO STUDY AS THEY HAVE NOT FOLLOWED THE HOUSING PROCESS.

We rented a property managed by whites and were very impressed with the efficiency of the whole process, from signing the lease, to the inspection report to booking and managing the maintenance. Mr. Alex Houghton has been amazing as a property manager. He’s been super helpful, professional, and very responsive each and every time. Where do I start, the agents have been nothing but helpful, we were in a bind in December where we only had two weeks to move out of our old property, due to the landlord selling the house. We contacted Whites and within two days had a house view put in place, they made the rent contract process so easy and even went as far as assisting us by allowing us to bring out move in date forward, each minor repair that was required before us moving in, was either completed by our move in date or immediately sorted out on a date that was convenient to us. We couldn’t have asked for a more friendly & helpful agency. :)

Extremely displeased and disappointed with the service I have received.
My mother is keen to move now so I found someone to rent her current home and advised that she should start looking at properties. She came across one on Whites’ website and expressed to me that she really liked it so I called Carol and made an offer which was accepted.
Couple days after this, my mother had seen another property on Zoopla which had everything she had told Carol she was looking for. Having a great deal of experience in this field, I was immediately suspicious of this and called Whites to arrange a viewing on both (the one she had an offer accepted on and the other one my mother was not told about) so I could see them myself. When I called, I spoke to Carol again who tried putting me off the 2nd one saying it needs too much work and I should just go full steam ahead on the current one as there are other offers she could put forward. After some back and forth, she reluctantly confirmed my viewings for the properties for Friday 22nd April as she has a hair appointment in for Saturday 23rd. Totally fine as I could get the day off work for Friday.
Fast forward today (Thurs 21st) and my mother gets an email from Carol saying both properties are no longer available and viewings are cancelled. But hang on…1) no phone call as a courtesy to see if we wanted to increase the current offer (which has already been accepted and verified by the way)… 2) not honouring the viewings that had already been booked in before any offers had been accepted…3) not even apologising but instead, waffling on about the “state of the current property market”. In all my 7 years of working with Estate agents for sales and lettings, this has been THE worse experience yet. Won’t be returning and I advise you use with extreme caution.

We rented a property from Whites for 8 years, and during that time they have been professional, approachable and proactive. Despite our landlord living abroad, any issues we had were dealt with as quickly as they could be. We've just moved out, and as stressful as that whole process is, Whites have been respectful and provided us with excellent communication and advice throughout. We even came away with 100% of our deposit and in 20+ years of renting...thats a new experience for us!
We wouldn't hesitate to use them again if the opportunity arose.

They were very responsive with any issues, having people come out and see us on the same day for boiler problems for example. Always quick to respond to emails or any queries. I was lied to and deceived when trying to end the tenancy and was kept in the tenancy 5 months longer than I should have, until I got independent legal advice. Whites took me to court, once I openly stated their lies and deceit, they backed off. Very unprofessional and borderline unlawful. Watch out.

New students be aware this agent will not work for you but the landlord only!
Whites started out being great at the time we were looking for a student property. However Covid presented a different need and they were sadly lacking in their approach to their paying customers and displayed no empathy whatsoever in whst might be happening to those customers.
Whites sadly have not learned about consumer bahviour: how an organisation behaves in a time of crisis - a time of crisis for ALL not just themselves and greedy landlords - is very telling. We will NOT be recommending them.

I have rented my flat from Whites for around 6 years now and have always found them very friendly and helpful if I have any problems. They always contact the Landlord quickly to get any repairs carried out and keep me up to date with the progress. Recently when my heating was not working they provided me with some heaters while it was being repaired which really helpful. Me and my girlfriend have been with them almost a year now and have had no issues. Our previous landlords gave us a hard time but whites are very accommodating and helpful! They found a property we loved and made the process nice and stress free. They are effecient at resolvong any issues with the property and happily just let us get on with living. Unfortunately for me I saw an interesting house rented via this agency. It’s start with a viewing on Saturday made by someone called Alex which hadn’t no clue about where the parking space is and for all our questions his answer was:” this is what it is” then we’ve been to the agency thinking that we may get some clarifications, there we’ve meet Steven which was really understanding according to the way he treated us. Monday instead everything been changed in the way Steven talk to me.
Let me be clear, I said that this property is what I am looking for, only if possible to ask landlord to remove the cooking hub as we may have one and if there are any fees for changing the letters from prepaid based one to the monthly one who will going to pay for as I didn’t knew that it may not be any fees at all.
So Monday when I called Steven was trying to get in touch with landlord in the morning, as he said 40 minutes after they opened” and few minutes after someone suddenly appear after they say the property on Saturday(which is not true as I’ve been around the property until 5:30pm on Saturday and nobody was there) and they signed the paper work and at the end the landlord accept them, because????? Because this agency staff don’t accept people to ask questions, this is why.

Gave whites 1 star for turning up on time to the viewing. Really liked property was told by agent from whites that they would let us know later that day (Friday) or tomorrow but didn't hear from them so Monday I emailed and got no reply so Tuesday morning I phoned was told that Ben who deals with this property would call back. No call back. Phoned again Wednesday afternoon told that Ben would call back but nothing. I gave up. So would not go through whites again. It's bad business not to keep customers informed. I'm gutted I did not get property so still looking

Adrian and his team have provided fantastic advice & support whilst their recommended contractors carry out work to my property to meet the HMO standards. Nothing appears too much trouble!
Tenants were found within the first week it was marketed whilst the property was still a building site.
I highly recommend Whites to other landlords who want an efficient stress-free service.

Horrible experience, not trustworthy. After 15 to 20 mins of waiting out side the property ,We had called in to view a property and decided to take it then and there. But the lady who showed the property asked us to go to the office and make payment. I had to rush to their office, but somehow managed to reach there. To my surprise it gone by then. I didnt know at that time, that they had already decided to give it to someone else (the person who saw the property after me). So when i reached their office they informed us that its already gone. It was a trickery. If they didnt want me to take the property, they could have at least told me straight and plain.
Honesty and Trust are the most fundamental aspect of being an estate agent. Unfortunately they dont have both and I wont recommend them. Very bad people.

Whites have been my Partners letting agent for 5 years now. Recently he went into the office wanting to move from the flat he was renting through whites.
He could not have been treated any better. An appointment was made for a viewing of a property that took his eye. He loved the property and went back to the office and the paperwork was ready to be singed . Everything went so smoothly. His old property was inspected two week before vacating. Advice in this visit can be given to help you achieve full deposit back.
Pete could not believe that one day after the end of tenancy his deposit was in his bank as cleared funds. So efficient.
Had a couple of minor teething issues in new property and within two hrs of calling a plumber was at his house and fixed the problem.
A special thanks to Alex Pete's agent. Also to the whole team who are very professional friendly and efficient. They made Pete's move run smoothly and with very little stress. Pete looks forward to his continued business with Whites lettings.

Finally an agent who lives up to the expectations of what they are supposed to deliver in terms of all round service. Would highly recommend for rentals, sales and landlords. Nothing has been too much trouble and they have been careful to find the kind of tenants you'd like in your property. The whole team at Whites have consistently given us first class customer service, often going well above and beyond what you could reasonably expect from a lettings agency. This has been invaluable, as we moved to a different part of the country and were completely reliant on them for everything. Even the MD rolls up his sleeves to sort out issues if necessary, and when it comes to selling his experience and knowledge of the local market is second to none. Excellent service at our property. Any maintenance issues were dealt with promptly and thoroughly. We always had a point of contact at Whites office and we're notified before anyone entered our property.
Most importantly we received our deposit back in full, no deductions were made for wear and tear or minor issues (this has not been my experience with previous letting agencies!)
Overall we found Whites to be very reasonable and would highly recommended them as a letting agency. The best agency I've used so far.
