It’s been a pleasure to deal with Mortimers at Blackburn. As a buyer, you want good communication, and honesty, and Veda Banks has these traits in abundance.
Sometimes, when you go through a house purchase, it’s difficult to tell the hard truths, but Veda never shied away from telling my how things were progressing (even though it was slow, which was due to the solicitors), even though they were extremely difficult conversations.
I’d have no hesitation in using and recommending Mortimers to sell a property for me in the future.

Joanne at the Blackburn was fantastic from start to finish. She kept us up to date regularly and made the whole process a pleasure to deal with. I wish other professionals in the process had been as friendly, helpful and efficient in this process! I think she could teach solicitors a thing or two about great service!!
I wouldn’t hesitate in using Mortimers again (as long as I could deal with Joanne) and would hesitate to recommend her to anyone that asked.

We sold our property with Mortimers firstly for their excellent reputation. We used the Blackburn, King William St branch and Veda Banks looked after the sale. She was brilliant. She was very proactive and responsive to keep everything moving along. Like any house sale there is always a glitch or two and Veda was on it like a bonnet. Took approx 4 months from initial contact to sale completion. Very happy and would thoroughly recommend. Thanks Veda and team.

We have had a professional and fantastic experience with Veda banks at Mortimers in Blackburn. As I called it “my favourite estate agent”. We have been in the process of buying this house since April and considering there were some barrows regarding the chain, Veda was on call to chase these up ASAP and she got back to us straight away. The luck of the draw landed us in the middle of a large chain with quite a few complications at the bottom which caused a number of delays. Joanne has been amazing throughout! Well where to start?!! What a fantastic experience of using my first estate agent in Blackburn and I will certainly be using them again and recommending them to my friends. Joanne Waddington was the lady who was selling the property I was purchasing and from the moment the property came to the market it was a difficult sale for a variety of reasons.
Throughout the trying process Joanne was prompt, courteous and very responsive. It was due to Joanne's prompt efficiency that I managed to secure the property within two hours in front of a number of other purchasers.
Even though the vendor's solicitors were very poor to deal with Joanne has constantly kept pushing on the sale and finally we are looking to complete tomorrow.
First class service from Joanne and Mortimers, either buy or sell your house through them and I am sure that you will leave as a very happy customer.

Before choosing Mortimers Blackburn in order to sell Mum's house, we had visits from a total of 3 estate agents. We consider that we have had extremely good value as the service has been excellent, with willing responses to requests for updates as well as access to the helpful online tracker. The fact that we live far away from Lancashire meant that we were relying on such service quality and Veda was supportive throughout via phone calls and emails.
Veda Banks was the person who took care of our sale. She was well-informed about our case and always helpful, patiently responding to our often stressful enquiries! Information sharing, often proactively, meant that there were never any gaps. We were kept well informed throughout, both by phone and email.

Before choosing Mortimers Blackburn in order to sell my Mum's house, we had visits from a total of 4 estate agents. Mortimers' fees were slightly higher. However, I feel we have had extremely good value as the service has been superb.
Joanne Waddington was the person who took care of our sale. She was lovely from the start - warm, friendly and human, while also being professional and knowledgeable - and she always did her utmost to help. The service felt very personal, and it seemed Joanne was always there for us, and a very safe pair of hands. On the few occasions when Joanne could not be available, Veda was similarly warm, well-informed about our case and always helpful - the sharing of information and culture of caring meant there were never any gaps. We were kept well informed throughout, both by phone and email; my emails were answered quickly, as were phone calls.
This has resulted in a sale we're very very happy with, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mortimers Blackburn to others looking for a streamlined, efficient, friendly and professional service.

I am an investor who purchases many properties in the local area. This is the only company I avoid at all costs. Trust me run and save yourself the hassle.
On two different occasions I have witnessed the same pattern. I have offered the full amount and showed my proof funds. A week later I keep getting pushed to increase my offer as though I am bidding in a price war. The last time this happened it felt like they chose an individual they wanted to sell it to and didn’t bother with anybody else despite me offering the full asking price. This is not at all professional.
Please avoid this company at all costs. Not only are the staff unhelpful but so is the manager Ben.

Had a few dealing with this estate agency as a buyer, each time it was an awful experience, the latter being the one I am going to focus on.
I put an offer in for a property almost immediately after being one of the first to view - offer was inches away from the asking price. I subsequently requested for the property to be taken of the market but this was not accommodated and wanted another £1k from me to do so, despite offering over 98.5% of the asking price (property well over £350k) and provided all the finance proof inc DIP.
House was then sold to someone else! who I have since learnt also offered the EXACT SAME amount ** a week later ** , and the estate agents excuse was they're paying CASH, which was not the case either!
Dealt with a person from start to finish who's name begins with "E", who then left the matter with the girls to inform me that I haven't secured it ,rather than speaking to me directly (he knew how badly I wanted the house). I tried to bump up my offer immediately, but was faced with a negative tone and nothing came of it. Felt it was all 'manufactured' to sell to the other party.
Hope I never have to deal with Mortimers ever again and glad sellers are using them less and less in my catchment areas.

When offers in the region off actually means not willing to negotiate at all and all to happy to drag out the negotiation process because they have more viewings next week! Was also shown a house in Rudyard Drive, Blackburn covered in 1970 artex but no mention of the risk of asbestos in the sales information which is a direct breach of the CPRs.

The worst estate agents ever! Do not have customer satisfaction as a priority! They ignore you completely unless it’s money gain concerned! Allow customer gazhamping if they get paid a little extra under the table! Stay away!
