After making a business buying and selling properties and always using the same agent we decided it was worth giving a different agent a go at selling for us. This has been our biggest mistake. Asking Palmer snell to sell one of our flats has been chaos and stressful. Within just a few days of signing the contract and being told the property would be listed we became concerned why the property was nowhere to be seen. We contacted the agent who assured us by the next day it would be live online for sale. Imagine our frustration after daily calls, one week later the property was still not even listed. Every day we were told, tomorrow. In the end, I called the agent and said I wanted to terminate the contract if they couldn’t get the property listed that night. So that night a photo of the outside of the building with no description appears online. The next day I called the agent to ask when the information will be put on and all the photos. They said tomorrow!! We decided to leave it 48 hours and call back. At this point, I also discover it’s being sold as a freehold and not a leasehold. Again we are told, don’t worry we have people viewing the property. We will get the information up. Obviously, people would view the property just to see what it looks like rather than viewing it because they like the photos. Here we are now 14 days later still nothing online except the outside photo. No floor plan, no photos, incorrect wording. The agents are refusing to let us out the contract and refusing to post the legally required details to sell a property online. They have now informed us that we have no right to sell it with somebody else and they will be making no effort to get the ad appropriately live and running. As you can imagine, this is a financial disaster when selling a rental property. I hope if anyone reads this, they know never to use Palmer snell.... Read more

Every time you enquiry about a property they add you to their data base and you began getting texts about random propeties you are not interested in. There is no way that you can just ask to view a propery and after checking you are an Ok potencial tenant, they just arrange a viewing! No, they have to call you and make you register whilst you insist is just this one flat I am interested, they have to spam you and some time not even answer emails for the flats you really want to see. Honestly, If I see a property with Palmer Snell or A and W (they are the same) I will not bother to ask for a viewing. You are putting people off with this annoying system, and I am not sure if comply with GDPR.... Read more

To start with the property was over valued. I had 7 no shows! I have sold 4 properties in my life and have never had a no show! This wasted a substantial amount of time wasted cleaning the house for viewings. On one viewing I had a 1 hour notice (which turned out to be a no show, which was rescheduled for later in the day and that was also a no show!). They were not able to contact viewers after all viewings apart from one (and even on a second viewing!). I had to chase for feedback several times. None of my calls were returned. The wrong keys were picked up for one viewing. This had been 5 months of wasted time and costs for me. The whole thing was a shambles and I'm amazed they are still in business! Update: I've already replied to a "I'm sorry your leaving" email from Palmer Snell with the above plus more. This you have clearly not seen.... Read more

Very poor experience while buying a house through Palmer Snell: despite saying themselves that the seller was in a real hurry, and being assured that the memorandum of sale should only take 48 hours to send out, 10 days later there has been no progress whatsoever. Despite multiple phone calls apologising for the delay and assuring me the matter would be 'escalated', instead they have now chosen to simply stop answering the phone. I could not recommend if you are looking for either speed or professionalism in your estate agents. UPDATE, Clearly, the team at Palmer Snell have read my previous review and thought "no no, you haven't seen anything yet, we're capable of being so much more useless". I now find that as far back as 7 weeks ago, the vendor of the property I thought I was buying had in fact ended her contract with Palmer Snell, and not instructed her solicitors to proceed further. Annoying, but such is life. Did Daryl from Palmer Snell think to mention this to me or my solicitors though? They did not. They did email the vendor's solicitors, asking them to try and persuade her to change her mind, which was as unsuccessful as it was unprofessional. Did they think to let me know at least after that didn't work? Once again, no. So today when I hear all this from the ex-vendor's solicitors, via my own, I call up and speak to the lovely Nathan who, after checking their system, reassured me that all looked fine on their side, and the sale should be proceeding with no issues at all as far as they were aware. Reassuring, but unfortunately a complete and utter bare-faced lie. TL;DR Lied, ignored me, omitted vital information which cost me several thousand pounds, lied a lot more. Avoid like the plague....
