Big regret trying to sell my property through Palmer snell after giving them multiple chances. Incompetent staff and complete lack of communication. Viewings consisted of far too many no shows and 90% of the ones who did show “provided no feedback”. Lights were left on during viewings when we were away on several occasions which shows how little they care..
There is only one manager within the Boscombe branch, Daryl. So if he is away, there’s no one you can really speak to- which was confirmed to me over the phone.
When we finally secured an offer, I was awaiting the memorandum of sale. Which I waited for for over 3 weeks. After phoning, calling etc, I was told after 3 weeks that the offer had been withdrawn.
I do wonder how long they have known about this for… so, we set a week to secure a new buyer as quickly as possible. After which a viewer cancelled half an hour before the viewing… I asked to speak to Daryl, and was told he was not in the office for that week!
Now, is this a lie also?
I’ve asked the property to be delisted and I will use an estate agent who has time and truly cares. The property is still not delisted after over 2 days.
Absolute chaos..
wish this review was positive but my experience was far from it. Stay away!

Waste of time company.
Estate agent doesn’t have the right keys the first time when booked for a viewing. We reschedule and they cancel 5 minutes before the viewing when we already have arrived at the property.
If you’re trying to sell with this branch I would AVOID.

I recommend staying away from these agents. Was dealing with Daryl the manager. Little to no communication at all and when yes, they were dishonest. They just tried holding my listing as long as they could by pretending they have a buyer. I finally listed elsewhere with an honest and reputable agency and got a buyer in two weeks.

After making a business buying and selling properties and always using the same agent we decided it was worth giving a different agent a go at selling for us.
This has been our biggest mistake. Asking Palmer snell to sell one of our flats has been chaos and stressful.
Within just a few days of signing the contract and being told the property would be listed we became concerned why the property was nowhere to be seen. We contacted the agent who assured us by the next day it would be live online for sale.
Imagine our frustration after daily calls, one week later the property was still not even listed. Every day we were told, tomorrow.
In the end, I called the agent and said I wanted to terminate the contract if they couldn’t get the property listed that night.
So that night a photo of the outside of the building with no description appears online. The next day I called the agent to ask when the information will be put on and all the photos. They said tomorrow!!
We decided to leave it 48 hours and call back.
At this point, I also discover it’s being sold as a freehold and not a leasehold. Again we are told, don’t worry we have people viewing the property. We will get the information up. Obviously, people would view the property just to see what it looks like rather than viewing it because they like the photos. Here we are now 14 days later still nothing online except the outside photo. No floor plan, no photos, incorrect wording.
The agents are refusing to let us out the contract and refusing to post the legally required details to sell a property online. They have now informed us that we have no right to sell it with somebody else and they will be making no effort to get the ad appropriately live and running.
As you can imagine, this is a financial disaster when selling a rental property.
I hope if anyone reads this, they know never to use Palmer snell.

Can’t recommend Palmer Snell in Boscombe enough! They made things move so smoothly and as simply as possible for us. We were constantly kept up to date with things. Every time you enquiry about a property they add you to their data base and you began getting texts about random propeties you are not interested in. There is no way that you can just ask to view a propery and after checking you are an Ok potencial tenant, they just arrange a viewing! No, they have to call you and make you register whilst you insist is just this one flat I am interested, they have to spam you and some time not even answer emails for the flats you really want to see. Honestly, If I see a property with Palmer Snell or A and W (they are the same) I will not bother to ask for a viewing. You are putting people off with this annoying system, and I am not sure if comply with GDPR.

To start with the property was over valued. I had 7 no shows! I have sold 4 properties in my life and have never had a no show! This wasted a substantial amount of time wasted cleaning the house for viewings. On one viewing I had a 1 hour notice (which turned out to be a no show, which was rescheduled for later in the day and that was also a no show!). They were not able to contact viewers after all viewings apart from one (and even on a second viewing!). I had to chase for feedback several times. None of my calls were returned. The wrong keys were picked up for one viewing. This had been 5 months of wasted time and costs for me. The whole thing was a shambles and I'm amazed they are still in business!
Update: I've already replied to a "I'm sorry your leaving" email from Palmer Snell with the above plus more. This you have clearly not seen.

Very poor experience while buying a house through Palmer Snell: despite saying themselves that the seller was in a real hurry, and being assured that the memorandum of sale should only take 48 hours to send out, 10 days later there has been no progress whatsoever. Despite multiple phone calls apologising for the delay and assuring me the matter would be 'escalated', instead they have now chosen to simply stop answering the phone. I could not recommend if you are looking for either speed or professionalism in your estate agents.
UPDATE,
Clearly, the team at Palmer Snell have read my previous review and thought "no no, you haven't seen anything yet, we're capable of being so much more useless". I now find that as far back as 7 weeks ago, the vendor of the property I thought I was buying had in fact ended her contract with Palmer Snell, and not instructed her solicitors to proceed further. Annoying, but such is life. Did Daryl from Palmer Snell think to mention this to me or my solicitors though? They did not. They did email the vendor's solicitors, asking them to try and persuade her to change her mind, which was as unsuccessful as it was unprofessional. Did they think to let me know at least after that didn't work? Once again, no. So today when I hear all this from the ex-vendor's solicitors, via my own, I call up and speak to the lovely Nathan who, after checking their system, reassured me that all looked fine on their side, and the sale should be proceeding with no issues at all as far as they were aware. Reassuring, but unfortunately a complete and utter bare-faced lie.
TL;DR
Lied, ignored me, omitted vital information which cost me several thousand pounds, lied a lot more.
Avoid like the plague.

Really poor service. Failed to adhere to the code of practice and caused us a lot of legal drama. When questioned, they became rude and refused to help. Terminated the contract with the landlord and moved our deposit without giving us the appropriate notice. Don’t waste your money.

I have been with Palmer Snell for approx 17 years now and have always been happy with the service provided. Both Lee and Emily have been fantastic on the recent change of tenant. I am confident they have found yet another happy long term tenant as the previous ones.
A good review is honest and balanced, so I need to mention this otherwise why believe the good ???????
Over these 17ish years there has been one sad tenant who ended up causing a problem and damage. Lee and the team helped sort things out in a timely manner. I had to bite the bullet on a complete refurb, but it was about due anyway. Excellent statistics in my book!
It’s always a pleasure to chat with the guys, they make themselves available. Very knowledgeable, fingers on the property pulse, which is important to me as I live away from the area.
Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Emily, Lee and Palmer Snell to rent and manage your property.

My property has been let and managed by PalmerSnell Boscombe for nearly 2 years now. The Letting team (originally Liza Franklin, now Lee Gilmore and Emily) have been very helpful finding tenants, viewing and contract management. I know several estate agents in Bournemouth area, who has disappointed me in the past. The management teams have been sorting out all the maintenance issues without me running down to Bournemouth from London. Repairs were done by first getting reasonable quotes for me then allowing me to decide and choose the most cost-effective option for me. Not many agents do this. Though communication was disrupted and slow during this recent lockdown, I was still able to maintain reasonable contact with the agency. So far I have received an acceptable level of service which I am happy with and I hope this will continue.

We recently let out our property. Really happy with the service and fair landlord fees.
Their start up fees are higher than most, however the monthly percentage is a lot lower, so worth checking.
We are moving from the area, so I asked for the property to be managed fully, and Lee made it so easy.
Unfortunately there was some damage in the property resulting in a leak that affected the neighbours. Lucky for us the palmer snell team sorted everything. One thing to note, when telling us the costs for the repairs etc we where given options in the price, we weren't just forced to pay something. Also they went though everything step by step.

ALL THIS AGENT CARES ABOUT IS SCAMMING YOU!!
Upon our initial viewing of the property we now live in Zach (who now doesn't work there anymore... strange) told us we were allowed pets provided we pay extra on top of the non-refundable agency fee -- keep in mind that if we were not allowed pets, we would have never even considered moving here in the first place.
Lisa was aware of this too, who strangely doesn't work there anymore either.
All has been going okay for the past 6 months until we received a letter yesterday expressing the landlord's disappointment to hear that we had pets and to dispose of them soon as possible. All this time we were led to believe the landlord was okay with our pets but as it turns out Palmer Snell either never told him or just don't care. Palmer Snell LIED TO US and SCREWED US OVER for the purpose of scamming us out of extra £££ for their fees. We refuse to just get rid of our beloved animals like objects because of this thieving agency lying through their teeth so now we've had to cancel our upcoming holiday (which we've been looking forward to all year, thanks a lot) for the purpose of searching for a new place.
I will definitely never consider Palmer Snell again and advise everyone I know not to work with them. DISHONEST LIARS.

Good presentation but did not offer as much as others. Asked for money for photos and improvements other agents provide for free.
Was looking for someone with better local knowledge and experience in the industry

I have just rent a house with them in Bournemouth and Zach, the agent who has been with me during all the process, has done a really good job, he has been friendly and he explained me everything really good, so right now I am really happy with them.

Unfortunately I was very disappointed. Agents don't tell about all costs of buying property and of owning it later, even when I asked about it. I resigned from buying, explained why, didn't hear "sorry to hear about it". Measurements of flat wrong given, I had to measure my own in front of agent and when said how different these figures are, I've heard "Oh, really?". Very professional! Never received call from agent when he promised to call regards refund money paid to lawyers. I had to call lawyers on my own. I just feel there is no professionalism, no passion, no care.

After dealing with several other agents in the Boscombe area I can only say that dealing with Palmer Snell was a breath of fresh air. For a start they are honest. The manager, Chris Rowley told me what my property was worth (was higher than what the other agents said) and showed me what he will do to find me a buyer. He then did exactly that and in a week. If I had gone with the other agents I would of sold for less money and in fact lost £15,000. In a time where money is tight and every penny counts I cant thank Palmer Snell enough. Thank you.

Horrendous. Palmer Snell have consistently been the worst estate agent I have come across. From having to have my contract corrected 4 times, to taking money for things I didn't ask for, the staff are a joke. Avoid!
