I was recommended by my client to go with Slades for the sale of our flat in southbourne, she said how great James Greenhalgh was and we went for them and never looked back. We listed our flat back in April 2023 and admittedly it was a tough year for sales but James went the extra mile to make sure we would sell, we had extra photos taken, there was a lot time spent to get our listing attractive. There was never too much to ask. James remained very calm and professional which helpful as it was such a stressful and anxious time. We finally sold and James ensured the sale went as smoothly as possible and any issues I had James would address them and promptly get back to me. My partner and I were givien our two months notice to vacate due to the sale of the property we were living in. (As you can imagine, that situation in iteslf is stressfull due to the current renting market)
The staff at Slades were all smiles until we mentioned we have pets, then the attitude completley changed, they became negative and very unsympathetic to our very stressfull situation.
We dealt with several other letting agents around Bournemouth, and Slades in Southbourne were the least helpfull. (To put it nicely) Best not waste your time here.

Awful experience. Booked a property viewing which was cancelled, rebooked to find out on the day that it was sold. Was stood outside the property in the pouring rain before calling to see if they were running late to be informed that the property had been sold and my appointment was cancelled without me being told. I live 45 mins to an hour away from the property so I wasted half of my day and petrol getting there.
Would not recommend to anyone unprofessional service.

I Used Slades to sell a run down property as part of an estate, and I must say I was very impressed with their professionalism from start to finish.

Having just completed on my first purchase, I must commend Slades, in particular Jack for his exceptional professionalism and service. Firstly Slades managed to make space for me to view this property at very short notice even though they had back to back appointments all day as I was relocating from London and was only in Bournemouth for 1 day to see the property, I found this very accomodating and a great first impression. Emails and phonecalls were promptly answered with all my queries being answered within 48 hours. Jack personally helped with moving the sale along and when we hit snags with the solicitors and as a nervous first time buyer this support went a long way. I wasn't hounded with calls and emails, Slades were very patient and professional when following up on progress and I didn't feel stressed whatsoever throughout the whole process, overall it was a very smooth, efficient service and I would definately reccomend in the future. Slades have just found a beautiful rental home for myself and my daughter. We can’t recommend Slades highly enough. All the staff are friendly, efficient and very professional. If something needs sorting out they deal with it quickly. We only have one property with them and we are aware they have landlords with multiple properties but they still give us the same care and attention which is reassuring.

My Wife and I Retired to Spain over 2 Years ago Letting our Home in Bournemouth to provide a income for us.
We contacted Jason Jacobs from Slades and agreed a Monthly figure that Jason thought we could achieve, and from Memory I think we had a Tenant within a couple of weeks.
For the next 2 Years Jason and the Team from Slades have managed our Property to a very professional standard, notifying us when things need repairing or Safety Certificates need updating.

”Unprofessional business ”I wanted to rent a property, but funny enough; they do everything to stop me.
The Property showed up on the internet, and same morning I phone the Slade Estate Agent then they said let agreed straight away, after two days property was still available on the internet and I phoned again. Then they said it's available. I wanted to put up a deposit but NO, wanted to send my paperwork to proof my position to the landlord but NO after 6 days of waiting they said the landlord accepted someone else Application. But how? They didn't even ask anyt paperwork from me, probably didn't mention my name to the landlord anyway. I just lost a week but learned my lesson. They lost a customer a one for the near future. As a landlord, I will keep working with Open Rent.
RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: Your answer is also misleading because:
1- You didn't Let me fill out an APPLICATION ( do not twist the words like you did let me apply)
2- You told me that the landlord would choose the tenant And I don't need to send you any documents.
I wonder How on earth the landlord can choose anybody if you didn't let APPLY ? with his Crystal ball? ???????
3- It's very Likely you Judged me With my Accent And Didn't want Me to APPLY and Rent the property.
4- Also I believe you misleadingly directing the landlords as you offering them only what applicants you want.
5- Verrrrrrry Interesting but still, the property is on the market.
6- I am always very generous and clear to share my experience with peoples around me and on the internet but I should have read the comments about Slades Estate carefully.

Sold our house through Slades in Feb 20. Very happy the price they achieved and the overall outcome. Only minor negative point was slight miscommunication at times, being told one thing by 1 person and something different by someone else - may be better if 1 dedicated person dealt with the entire transaction. Overall very satisfied and would use again and recommend.

I went to Slades in Highcliffe, Dorset after finding a property I liked the look of on "On the Market". Viewed the property, loved it, put in an offer.
There were some very interesting hurdles along the way, but James Cotrill and the team steered everything with a calm, friendly and proffesional attitude, keeping me well informed, they actually do care! I would certainly recommend them as a good honest estate agent.
