Ella was at the property when I arrived. She was very bubbly, a big smile, smartly dressed and very friendly.
We removed our shoes before we viewed the property, which showed she had a lot of respect for the landlord's property.
Ella showed me round the bungalow and the gardens and I expressed I was interested, so she explained everything about the Application process and said she would email this to me so I had it when I returned home. Which she did.
I sent all the documents to her email and she kindly acknowledged receipt. We are just waiting now to see if we are accepted by the landlord.

I have had a great experience, having previously rented with Robert Ellis, our flat was in great condition and reasonably priced. Any requests and maintenance issues were properly dealt with by Daniel, and the staff have always shown professionalism whilst being personable.
Now wishing to rent with them again, I am still met with professional and friendly staff, Daniel is prompt in responding to any emails sent and I was recently shown around a beautiful property by Joe who was punctual, kind and able to answer any questions I had about the property and application process.

I Recently contacted Robert Ellis to fully manage one of my properties.
Daniel Burkey stood out as particular impressive, very professional and informative and exceptional polite. He responded to me emails very quickly even outside of office hours and kept me well informed throughout the rental processes, including detailed write ups on all applicants.
The property was let within two weeks of Robert Ellis taking over management. Pricing for annual certification and general maintenance also seems comparable with market rates.

My experience with this letting agency was positive. I have received emails and texts quickly with detailed information about my requests and the team is helpful and friendly.
My viewing with Joe was very good, he was very professional and informative when I asked questions about the property. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the viewing inside the house was without him but he gave us plenty of information before entering the house and after the viewing.

My flat has been let via Robert Ellis for over 5 years, to several tenants. They have responded to feedback and overhauled maintenance processes. I am very satisfied with both the finding of tenants and the care of the property once tenants are in situ.
Daniel Burkey has acted as lettings negotiator several times and works very hard to find suitable tenants, with a short turnaround time, so my costs of the property being vacant are minimised. The payment and accounts process is straightforward. Maintenance issues are addressed promptly and their local knowledge means they engage excellent tradesmen to fix issues arising at reasonable cost.

The agency staff is past due a training in pro-client orientation and non-violent communication. Word of mouth travels quickly and number of disappointed potential customers who turned to competitor is growing (not only on our side).
Previous year (as a group of students) we were interested in renting a property. So I went to RE to ask for possible renting options. Very uninterested and borderline rude lady said to look online that everything is advertised and why am I bothering them there. After this we went right across the street to a competitor and were met with a completely different approach - a professional one.
This year (as a professional couple) we emailed RE about property viewings (as at that time they had the most properties suitable for us). After inquiring about couple of properties, a lettings co-ordinator emailed us that it has been Let (their webpage said the opposite). We then had a booked viewing, after the same lettings co-ordinator reluctantly gave us a date in two weeks time. Upon searching for properties, we have found out property has been let:
a) no one gave us a courtesy of informing us, even though we had a booked appointment
b) upon emailing, we received an automated email about the lettings co-ordinator being on annual leave (who was taking care of her customers?)
c) find this unprofessional as we had to cancel plans for the house viewing
d) what if we didn’t notice and just showed up?
Again after the right property has appeared on the market we have taken our business to the same competitor as previous year (CP Walker), where we have had a completely different experience with the staff members.
It’s sad how two businesses and their approach to customers can differ. Disappointing.

I'm a Landlady of a property, they've looked after me for well over 20 years .
Tenants come and go some or good and some I'd rather not comment on.
I presume the same can be said about landlords and landlady' s, but you can't blame the agents for other people's faults.
So to finalise I think they do a wonderful job.

Recently I wanted to rent the house advertised on their website , however after viewing the place they didn't even bother to send me the application form even though they told me that they would. Definitely customer service is very unsatisfying - I wouldn't recommend this agent at all after my awful and long hour waiting experience.

Currently renting a property from Robert Ellis. The house we are in is very dated and there have been a few issues, however Robert Ellis are very responsive and have managed to get them all fixed in an appropriate amount of time.
The reason I gave them 3 stars is because of the high application fees. We had to pay them £360 (£180 per person). I think this is too high and unfortunately due to us living in England (Letting Agents can't charge fees in Scotland) its something that can't be avoided.

Rating one star because i cant rate any below as google wont let me... Last Friday was talking to a David on the phone who I was trying to explain that I got 2 bookings cancelled with RE because the properties have gone during the week so since I had another 3 viewings with them i asked to replace my 2 cancelled viewings with new ones... And he said its not possible as they are fully booked!!! I smiled on the other end of the line... Thinking how funny it is when someone trying to sound so professional on the phone when they are empty head! Their service is very poor and they bully you expect you to pay for it. No chance for negotiating. Let me also mention that when you call them they just pass you on to other colleagues as ping pong ball! So coming back to David, he said to me "oh you are so lucky today! we just got a booking cancelled just now so we can book you in!!!" I had to bite my tongue not to laugh out loud! Actually it was what ive beenbtrying to explain to him that my viewings just got cancelled with RE thats why he could book me in again!!! I still tried to tell him "it's me it's my viewings that got cancelled on your system" still got no reaction from him he did not realise what was going on. Turns out now that me and my husband like the property that they didnt want to book us for on last Saturday and now they were urging my husband to pay 360 for both apps to book the property whether you fail the credit check after or not it does not matter. No negiotiating when you are the one who's hiring their service. I asked the landlord to consider me as permitted occupier i doubt whether they really pass on the msg to the landlord... RE said the landlord refused!

I'd had a difficult day trying to find a letting agent that would take on a student and a cat. However, Robert Ellis not only got me a viewing the same day I visited them, but they fought my corner really well in regards to the cat. All the payments etc went really smoothly too. Hard to comment on other people's remarks that they are a bit expensive. I am moving from the South where a double room is £500 a month, so for me, a whole flat for about the same was amazing! But yea, they have been great for me and I would highly recommend them.

Avoid if possible. I rented from Robert Ellis for a number of years and have an endless list of complaints; the worst however, was that we were often electrocuted by faulty electrical items and RE's electricians seemed unable to identify the problem - therefore simply declared it safe!

Awful experience. let me put application £720 in fees in for a property in and then rang up to tell me that it had been let to someone else already. Slow on contacting, had to chase. Did not seem to share information between staff so if the person you were dealing with was not in then they couldn't tell you anything. Would not lower the application fees or combine them as we were a group, saying they were competitive, when others in the area several hundreds of pounds lower, and will combine fees. I wouldn't touch them again! they make it unaffordable to find somewhere to live!

Out of all the letting agencies i have rented from, Robert Ellis has been the most easy going and stressless of all. the staff were great Ash and Harriet were both very helpful when it came to signing for the property and if i have had any problems they have been straight on the case to sort it. I am now 7 months into my tenancy with no complaints

Harriet deserves high praise for the job she does with Robert ellis. Shes been so helpful to me and my girlfriend with regards to our new rental. It's been a pleasure to have her taking us through the process and has really been thorough with everything.
Our only down side with Robert ellis itself is the high fees we had to pay. The most I or anyone I know who's rented has had to pay is £130 per person or £280 joint fee (minus one month upfront and deposit) we had to pay £360 for the both of us

Louise offers a very personal and professional service and I can confidently say that should we require any future service both letting and estate agency in the future I would not hesitate in using Robert Ellis. They certainly go the extra mile.
