EDIT: With Seymours having responded below, it's worth noting that the management of the branch have changed since I purchased the property, and that they phoned me after seeing this review to apologise and to ask for ways they could improve in future. Off the back of that experience I would be happy to consider going through Seymours again as the new management seem quite serious and dedicated about improving their service, and willing to listen to feedback, which I think is reassuring that my experience will prove to have been a one off.
I finally completed the purchase of a property in June, having had an offer accepted in February. A large part of this delay was down to the poor attention to detail by the agents at Seymours. When I viewed the property they were ignorant of some basic details (heating system, parking situation, ground rent, building maintenance arrangements) which other estate agents (such as Bourne) had on hand when viewing similar properties. Despite having made it clear to Seymours that, since the property was a leasehold flat, it was very important that I be able to see the terms of the lease as soon as possible, they dragged their feet in getting hold of it, with the result that the purchase was delayed considerably when my lawyer found problems with the lease, especially with the buildings insurance clause which the seller and Seymours actively misled me about.
I still went through with the purchase, after securing a reduction in price and some indemnity insurance, but the purchase took far longer than it should have done simply because of Seymours showing a lack of attention to detail and not having accurate information at the time of viewing and after making an offer.
Having viewed other properties listed with Seymours I encountered the same lack of basic knowledge about the properties by the agents (I often knew more than they did, having done basic research such as looking up the EPC certificates beforehand), and I generally got the impression of agents who were only interested in getting an offer accepted for the property and then ceased to be interested in putting the effort in to get the sale actually completed.
I don't know how much commission they charged the seller but whatever the commission was it was too much for the service provided.... Read more

Initially Seymours seemed ok, but then the errors started to creep in such as leaving the property insecure, not managing the chain properly, which resulted in a 6 week delay which cost us money and finally handing out the key code to our buyer before the sale had completed.
