I have sold my house through Seymours, and I must say I am extremely disappointed with the service I received. The customer service was poor, the support was inadequate, and the overall experience fell far below my expectations. For the fees charged, I expected a much higher standard of professionalism, communication, and commitment. Unfortunately, I feel I received very little value for money.<br><br>I would not recommend Seymours to anyone based on my personal experience.

Had a great experience doing viewings with Max to buy our first home. He only sent genuinely relevant properties and was very accommodating to our viewing schedule. During our viewings he completely understood what we were looking for and, thanks to his extensive knowledge of Seymour’s portfolio, was able to secure us a viewing the same day to a property we later offered on. His knowledge is second to none, there wasn’t a single question he couldn’t answer in the moment about every property he showed us. We had a particularly challenging experience, as our sale involved four different buyers due to a range of issues.<br><br>Initially, the process felt smooth and well managed. However, the first three buyers all fell through for different reasons, including issues with mortgage approval, finances, and a lack of progress.<br><br>One of our accepted offers had buyers with a 5% deposit, which unfortunately was not communicated to us upfront. Had we known, we may have made a different decision, as we would have preferred a buyer in a stronger financial position at that stage. This situation also meant we needed to consider additional financial implications with little notice.<br><br>While we do recognise that we were particularly unlucky, we feel there is an opportunity to improve the initial vetting process of buyers, as well as ensuring that the information provided at offer stage is accurate and consistent and ideally provided in writing.<br><br>Thankfully, our fourth buyers were reliable, and we were able to complete the sale and move home.<br><br>That said, Clarissa from the sales progression team was exceptional throughout, and we cannot speak highly enough of her. After our earlier experiences, we specifically requested that she handle our final transaction, as we had complete confidence in her, and she absolutely delivered. She was proactive, communicative, and incredibly reassuring during what had been a very stressful process, keeping everything moving forward with clear and honest updates. Her professionalism and dedication made a significant difference to our experience and were instrumental in getting our move over the line.<br><br>Despite the difficulties we faced, the team did work hard to generate strong interest in our property, with lots of viewings and offers throughout.

We’ve had a bit of a time of it with our house search, stretching back to last Summer when we bought a house through Seymours Woking which unfortunately fell through. Whilst we have had the odd hiccup with some members of the team, Mo and Max in particular have been excellent showing us around and assisting with booking in viewings. Horrible agent, signed a rent contract and paid the one month rent and deposit then discovered that the apartment is still rented, when i raised a complaint with the branch management they didn’t do anything, i am raising it to the property ombudsman and raising a claim against them. Never use.

Disappointing experience of dealing with Seymours.<br><br>They are always in a meeting when you call and not responsive. Their size is their downfall, they have so many teams of people that you are passed through that there is no relationship or continuity.<br><br>They did not follow up proactively throughout any of the sale period and got their facts wrong on several occasions. Given our transaction involved different time zones, and needed responses first thing in the morning or planning ahead, this was not carried out.<br><br>They were helpful when we moved in and had no heating where they kindly contacted the seller to help establish how to turn it on but I have no idea why they have the market share in Woking.

Seymours sold the house very quickly. However, initially the property was advertised with the wrong number of bedrooms and the conservatory was not mentioned. The agent who handled the offers did not apparently communicate that the house was to be taken off the market to his colleagues nor did they all seem to register that it was a probate sale and thus instructions to be out of the house when a viewer came were unnecessary. All in all, the experience was rather mixed.

Queries not answered or handled by different people, causing constant chasing ups and stress. The final rent miscommunicated as it was incorrectly recorded on their system. A total mess! There are better letting agencies out there.
