Chaotic. Far, Far too many people, no consisted person who was OUR client link. Some agents took possible buyer to our house but had NEVER been there before ! ! ! I was TOTALLY shocked when we had a "cash offer" yet NO ONE undertook legal OR financial due diligence. I used to do these REGULARLY when in the Commercial market. Seymours were totally unprofessional. I also found out the deal had collapsed many days BEFORE Seymours told us !!
So many names sent us e mail, to tell us what we had found days, YES DAYS , before. Seymours were behind the curve & disorganised.
The eventual buyer was introduced by ANOTHER agent ! who then eventually spent 5 hours talking to other agents, legal teams, removal companies - eventually putting together the 4 property chain to agree an exchange & completions date. Why not Seymours? Because they were not organised & didn't care AND not very good at what they claim to do........Disgraceful

Like most people in England our house buying/selling process was...challenging, but this had nothing to do with the estate agent side of the process. I can honestly say that were it not for the team in Guildford, and primarily Clive, the process would have failed, the chain would have disintegrated, and my son would still be sleeping in our room. But, thanks in no small part to the team, we were able to resolve all of the problems within the chain, work around the problems, and move into a house where my son has his own room. So thank you! When the time comes in the future and we look to move, we will definitely be using Seymours

From the very beginning of our search for a new home, Chris Ludlow at Seymours was incredibly helpful and supportive (...and patient... showing us some properties up to 3/4 times haha). When we eventually found the place we wanted to call home, Chris helped us complete the necessary offer forms and negotiate a price we were happy with to the seller. Once the offer was in, when you'd think estate agents may go quiet, I had weekly (sometimes daily !) chats with Chris and he introduced me to Clive Gee who was our main liaison for the ongoing sale. Clive was so tremendously helpful in making sure things were progressing between solicitors, and again spoke to us very often. We had a tight turnaround of only 3 months from offer to completion, and without the help of Chris and Clive, and their level of professionality and support, this may not have happened! Also a quick shout-out to Fiona who took us for a few viewings when Chris was unavailable, very warm and informative. Overall very satisfied and couldn't recommend enough... There are always horror stories when purchasing, and we've had bad experiences in the past with other estate agents, so we are so grateful to Guildford Seymours as it was a smooth process with lots of support on hand. 5* !

I am particularly pleased with the service received from this agency, especially from Clive Gee. As a first time buyer with less knowledge/ experience in the property market, I was impressed with the proactiveness and speed at which the agency got back to me when my offer was accepted. My wife and I had a tough ask of Seymours, Guildford.
We needed them to sell our house and find a forever home to move to, which would enable us and our 4 children to grow into over the next 15+ years. To add to that, we also wanted to stay in the heavily sought after village of Shalford, where we'd lived for many years before.
Luke Minto took on the challange and after getting close on a number of occasion, managed to deliver everything we could have wished for in our new home.

Our experience with Seymours Estate Agent has been very good. We approached them to conduct an assessment of my mother's house, with a view to putting the property on the market once she had moved to another residence. Charity was business like, courteous and helpful in guiding me (and the family) through the valuation and marketing process. Due to my mother's unexpected passing not soon into the process, we needed all the support we could get and Charity and her colleagues provided that for us; I found the agents handling of this tricky situation was a well judged balance of keeping the process moving whilst ensuring we were informed but not overwhelmed, as well as leading us through the choices that we needed to make.
The security of our personal information was excellent, with secure communication channels set up to protect our dialogue with them. We have very recently exchanged contracts with some buyers, who I know will be able to adapt the house really well to suit the needs of their young family. Very unprofessional. We know they used tricks by sound of urgency to urge buyers to submit the offer. Once the offer is received they took the time to play around between buyers to try to bid price higher. They let us wait for over a week and had no response since the first offer was submitted. As a serious buyer, the way that how seller’s agency communicates with us does count into how much the offer would be. So for both buyer and seller to be aware when to choose the agency. A bad communication from the agency can damp the relationship between buyers and sellers, which impacts the sale of the property. Though the agency acts on the seller’s behalf, without a good balance between buyer and seller’s interest there will be eventually no buyer willing to buy a property from the agency.

I found Simon to be really helpful and supportive in this somewhat unusual sale. Originally we were selling to a sitting tenant, but they had problems with their mortgage. Simon helped me to work with the lettings team to support the tenant vacating the property and finding a new home, whilst also picking up the sales process again.
As an owner living at the opposite end of the country, Simon helped me with a house clearance company and some cosmetic repairs that the buyer insisted were done just before exchange.

Trying to book a viewing seems impossible and it seems only if you take days off work you will be able to suit their schedule.
We contacted them to book a viewing the moment they uploaded a listing. We set a date and were waiting their confirmation as they said they couldn't find the current tenants to check their availability. They never called back, we had to chase them.
One day before the scheduled appointment they informed us that the flat is no longer available! I am really disappointed as this is not the first time we have difficulties booking a viewing with this branch.
Rhetorical question: why will I have to pay them a fee if I do the whole searching and chasing to arrange viewings??

Tried to buy a house through Simon, as first time buyers we would of expected to be guided through the process a bit more than someone who has done it before. I would say now we have finally moved into our first house and used a decent estate agent, that he used the ‘first time buyer’ to his advantage by not disclosing everything about the property. Not mentioning to us the the property was ‘sealed bids’, not a regular sale, then eventually telling us to put our ‘final’ offer in before a set date and editing the right move advert... anyway we had the highest bid in the end, then they were constantly on the phone along with James asking me what’s going on, have I done this, when can we exchange. All before the sellers had even sent my solicitor any paperwork! Something fishy from the start I feel. Will give a good word to Tiffany though who was nothing but helpful unlike the other two.

Arranged to view a property with Seymours, we took time out of work on a Thursday morning because we liked the property. The agent showed up without the keys to the property. We had to wait for 30 minutes whilst they returned with the correct keys. During this time we got a call from someone on the office to apologise; not really constructive but we appreciated it. When the agent returned, the keys had the wrong house number on them and we couldn’t get into the property to view. In summary Seymour sent someone who clearly has never been in the property before (didn’t know if we access from the side/rear) and didn’t have the vendor’s number to call, wasted two hours of our time and we won’t get to see the property now because it’s coming off the market this weekend. Well done Seymours; you had one job to do.

I've recently started looking at buying a property in Guildford and Seymours have been a breath of fresh air compared to places like Foxtons. I haven't got a massive budget and it's great to talk with someone like Joe that seems to understand that, rather than feeling like you are talking to a pushy salesmen. Would definitely recommend using them.
