Bourne were incredibly proactive in the sale of my property and I believe did everything they could to sell it in the least time possible. I've worked within the property industry for 20 years and am very pleased with the overall experience. I can't recommend them highly enough.
Extremely expensive! They charged us 96£ only for contract renewal! Basically, change 10 words from old contract and print it!
Very supportive, helpful and actively assist students in finding properties. Great service and friendly employees too. Would recommend to any students struggling to find accommodation!
Worst Estate Agents Ever. They ripped me off with fees when I first moved to Guildford (my first rented property), and then tried to get as much of my deposit back at the end. This was 5 years ago. Now they did exactly the same to my friend who has just immigrated here from Europe and was desperately looking for a place ASAP. They spotted his situation and took him to the cleaners. For a house he pays £1100 a month for he got charged £250 agreement fee, £50 guarantor fee, £75 reference fees, £50 guarantor reference fee, £180 inventory fee (house unfurnished!!!), and then to top it off they've charged him a £60 admin fee. £5000 upfront for a £1100 per month house. Dicks.
We were very pleased with the service we received at Seymours. Tracy and John were unfailingly helpful and very good at keeping us informed of developments. They have excellent local knowledge. All in all we are very happy to recommend them to prospective clients.
I want to inform all of my experience with Seymours a few years ago. We wanted to purchase a property listed at 400k (it had been on the market for several months without offers). We offered 390k, Richard from Seymours called to tell us to rethink offering as he didnt think we could afford it. However he had to put the offer in and it was accepted, suddenly we were counter offered. We then went to 410k (over asking). On 2 occassions within 5 weeks of transfer we saw Seymours at the house viewing with someone, I stopped at the house and looking guilty he said it was a friend. 2 weeks before transfer was to take place we were told someone else put the same offer in and the owner decided to change and give the new buyer the property. We once again increased the offer to 435k and I eventually got hold of the owner who informed me that Seymours had been informing them negative feedback about us, including that he didnt think we could afford it.... it was one of my most stressful times and their treatment towards us was totally unacceptable and unethical!! We are now buying our 3rd property but will never use Seymours. I can only presume that he/friend wanted to buy the property at a reduced offer since it had been on the market for a while, then we came along and upset the plan.
A huge thanks to Tiffany for all her help and support over the past few weeks. Tiffany's advice and local knowledge was brilliant and she always got back to us quickly. Thanks Tiffany!
Arranged to view a property with Seymours, we took time out of work on a Thursday morning because we liked the property. The agent showed up without the keys to the property. We had to wait for 30 minutes whilst they returned with the correct keys. During this time we got a call from someone on the office to apologise; not really constructive but we appreciated it. When the agent returned, the keys had the wrong house number on them and we couldn’t get into the property to view. In summary Seymour sent someone who clearly has never been in the property before (didn’t know if we access from the side/rear) and didn’t have the vendor’s number to call, wasted two hours of our time and we won’t get to see the property now because it’s coming off the market this weekend. Well done Seymours; you had one job to do.
