Avoid Slater Hogg Letting at all costs. They did not follow procedures promised in contract, such as inspections every 6 months. When I questioned them on this - due to issues with the appalling condition my flat was left in - they will no longer respond to emails or phone calls from me. They lost a set of keys to my flat which were in their possession which raises all sorts of safety concerns. I kept giving them another chance believing it was going to get better, but it didn’t. My entire experience with Slater Hogg was negative and extremely stressful. I moved to a different letting company and they are absolutely outstanding. I wish I had moved sooner.... Read more

Shocking treatment from the company. I took the day off work and travelled 400 miles for a house viewing today 14/9/24 in Ayr only to be left standing in the rain with house all locked up and no agent to be seen. Only person I met was another viewer with a slot before me left standing longer in the rain. We both tried phoning the Ayr branch office that said open till 1pm. We phoned at 12:30 pm but phones rang out so left a voice msg. We both decided it was a lost cause after around 40 mins waiting for me and an hour for the other viewer. A few hours later it comes up as sold. Fair enough you’ve sold your clients house Ayr branch but to treat people that way is unacceptable. Thanks for wasting me and my family’s time... Read more

The For Sale sign board was changed to sold within 2 months of so SHH are perfectly aware that this board is sited away from the property positioned on a lamp post. I've tried 3 times in the past week to view a house in Prestwick. Each time I call, I speak with someone who says they will check with the owner and call me back to confirm - and they never call me back. So I phone again - and the same thing happens. Once, I can understand - these things happen, twice is bit irritating particularly when I'm travelling from Glasgow, but to do that three times, especially when you're talking with the person about it happening before, and they still don't call you back - it's pretty infuriating. If you are the owner of the property then I wish you luck with your sale however you are missing out on at least one potential buyer because of your estate agent.... Read more

From the initial phone call with Caroline, to meeting with David and the service throughout the sale. Which of course was the main thing, they sold out flat! I used to manage my own rental property however I found it very time consuming. I was recommended Slater Hogg & Howison by a friend who was in a similar situation. Since Slater Hogg have taken over the management of the property they have taken care of everything. I no longer have to deal with any issues associated with the property as they do this without having to bother me and when tenants have moved out they have swiftly found me replacements.
