Every aspect of putting our house on the market was a seamless experience. The property assessor (Peter) was very professional and gave a realistic but accurate assessment of what we might achieve from a sale. The office staff (Ann and Louise) were also very professional but friendly and also responsive to my questions. Overall I could not recommend this team highly enough, I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend to others.

Extremely disappointing experience with Slater Hogg & Howison Falkirk.
My pregnant girlfriend and I viewed a rental property with them while preparing to start our family together. The property was lovely and the letting agent initially seemed very helpful and professional. We were told our application had been successful and that the next step was to pay £300 upfront towards the deposit to secure the property, with keys due to be collected the following Wednesday.
Two days later, I received a call informing me that the landlord was no longer proceeding because Slater Hogg would not offer them a rent insurance product due to us being a young couple with limited credit history. Despite having stable circumstances, this apparently made us “too risky.”
Naturally, we were devastated. We had already told family members, started purchasing furniture and white goods, and spent money preparing for the move only to have it pulled away at the last minute.
To make matters worse, we were told the £300 refund would be processed shortly, yet days later we were still waiting. This directly impacted our ability to secure another property we had found.
I even offered alternatives, including paying 3–5 months’ rent upfront and providing an extremely reliable guarantor, but was simply told “no.” I’m not even convinced these options were properly presented to the landlord.
The whole experience felt incredibly unfair, dismissive, and profit-driven. As someone who works within the property investment industry myself, I find this level of service and treatment completely unacceptable. I would not trust this company to manage investments or handle tenants fairly.

Slater Hogg and Howison have managed all properties in our portfolio for a couple of years now and they’ve been brilliant.
Lisa and the team are always on hand any time we’ve needed them and they’ve been really proactive in dealing with any issues that have came up.
Our portfolio is quite spread out, so without SHH we would be struggling to keep on top of it. They allow us to be very hands off which is vital for us
Would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a letting agent!

I had an excellent experience with Slater Hogg Bishopbriggs. From start to finish, the service and communication were outstanding. A special mention has to go to Kim, who was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process. She kept me informed every step of the way, was always quick to respond, had a clear strategy and made everything feel smooth and stress-free.
Overall, a brilliant service and a genuinely positive experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, reliable, and effective estate agent.

Offered me a flat, once I accepted said that the landlord wants to host 10 more viewings even though they legally offered me the flat. Said they would get back to me within 2 days to confirm if the landlord has gone with me. Till this day I haven’t heard a thing. Inhumane agency that only cares about money. Avoid at all costs!

Slater Hogg was responsive and professional all through our sale. The staff are all fantastic and Karen and Lauren really kept us at ease and were so helpful, fast and understanding when our sale fell through and we needed to put our flat back on the market. We are glad we decided to use Slater Hogg and would definitely use them again.
