We've finally completed today on the sale of our house & I thought we should acknowledge how good Strutt & Parker have been, from beginning to end of a very long process! We had a brief bad experience with another agent & were feeling a bit disillusioned however Strutt & Parker have been lovely to deal with, from start to finish. From day one Sarah & Harry were friendly, open, efficient, always accessible & despite it being the worst year to sell a house for quite some time, they persevered & were unfailingly positive, hard-working, calming & communicative. As always with house buying & selling there were some stressful times but both Sarah & Harry held our hands throughout & once we'd accepted an offer Harry was absolutely brilliant at plugging away persistently but charmingly, despite hurdles & useless solicitors! I honestly wonder whether we would have made it to exchange & completion without her tireless efforts. Having just paid their very well-deserved fees today, I can honestly say we don't begrudge a penny: they're the best agents we've ever dealt with & we've bought & sold several properties. They were friendly, fun to deal with, knowledgeable about their market and how best to sell our (slightly challenging) house and did their absolute best for us. The most unhelpful agency I have dealt with. Had to move my children out of the house due to severe damp issues after several trips to the doctors with chest infections. Did not have hot water for almost 6 weeks, had to boil the kettle to wash the dishes and take cold showers. After 8 months of complaining about the damp, they finally instructed a damp proofing contractor who proceeded to scrape and hack off walls which many of contained Asbestos and Lead paint. After they had finished, they left a 230v socket suspended by its own cables, live wires on show. This was a family home where two of my children were living until I had to find other accommodation for them. This was classed as a non emergency by the Associate Member of Strutt & Parker. The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyor should retract their membership due to lack of knowledge.... Read more
