I'll be honest, in the many times I've moved in my 66 years, I have had little time for estate agents. I've found them to be, (once an offer was accepted), uninterested beyond the bare necessities of gaining their percentage.
Then I underwent a horrendous sale, lasting five long drawn out months. Those months were painful and harmful to my sanity (thank you to my buyer for the extra pain).
As I was ignored by solicitors beyond the minimum of formality, the one port of calm I found was Goadsbys in Yeovil. In particular 'Saint' Sophie. She was the sole person who actually battled on my behalf, who did all she could to keep me both sane and to achieve the holy grail of Exchange. She was 101% batting for my team and without her I'd have succumbed to the overwhelming stress.
THANK YOU Sophie, you were a saver of sanity and truly professional, but with a capital P.

We have been delighted with the service which the Goadsby office in Salisbury provided in the selling of my Father in law’s house. We have felt we could trust them to provide us with realistic information and advice. They would not make or pressurise us into making decisions but would offer opinions from their greater knowledge of the selling market. As first time sellers, who are based in another city from the one where the house we were selling was based, this was very important and much appreciated.
They kept us constantly informed and asked for approval on all publicity information. They were always courteous and provided extra support in the form of meter readings when necessary. They let us know if there was anything that needed attending to in the house.
We would strongly recommend them for selling your house as all of the staff we encountered proved an excellent service.

Fantastic estate agents, especially Rob Ward.
Ever since the appraisal, we felt confident that Rob and his team would help us sell our property and assured us that he would go above and beyond to complete the sale, and he sure did!
Due to COVID, the market was uncertain but Rob managed to get a sale agreed. The buyer's solicitor proved to be extremely tricky with the purchase, continuously delaying the exchange. Rob went out of his way to push this through, contacting both solicitors directly, answering emails in the evenings and keeping both us and the buyer fully updated.
Rob didn't have to do any of this but he showed commitment throughout the sale and created a fantastic relationship with us.
I would certainly be using Goadsby again for future sales and will recommend friends and family to use them.

My husband and I feel so fortunate to have found Jacqui in GOADSBY Salisbury, many many years ago.
During this time we have encountered quite a few ‘let downs’, in particular with URGENT repairs required to our property. We have often asked ourselves “why do we bother?” The reason for this is because of the tremendous frustration and sadness we have encountered, due to the lack of us receiving timely updates/feedback on the progress of the works from the relevant Goadsby office.
We have often spent considerable time and effort requesting such updates as to what is happening with the work, which had been authorised by us many days or even weeks prior.
Jacqui is such an able person and when requests by the tenants for repairs are reported to Goadsby, Jacqui does keep us informed, by email, with her action requesting the repairs. Sadly at times, we feel Jacqui has just not been provided the support required, causing unnecessary delays which does appear to be caused by another department.
However, Jacqui ‘soldiers on’ which I am sure is often very frustrating for her too. We only discover the problem when we see the lengths of time, OCCASIONALLY very urgent matters take to resolve, in particular, for example recent URGENT matters. This then looks so bad on Jacqui, Goadsby and most certainly on my husband and I as landlords, who I may add, always agree to give Jacquie the ‘go ahead’ when she emails us.
The most recent extremely URGENT matter which just could not wait, as our tenants were without hot water. ‘’

I've had a perfect experience with Goadsby in Salisbury. I called in wanting to see a particular property and was able to view it within two hours on the same day. I put an offer in and had it accepted that same afternoon. In the 3 months it took to complete I found both Ben and Robert that I dealt with in the branch extremely helpful, professional and responsive and never waited longer than about an hour to hear back from them when I had a question. I originally had my property marketted by Connells Salisbury. I seeked Connells out from seeing previous sold boards along my road so thought they knew the area and would be able to make a sale . My experience however was extremely poor, no customer service skills, promisises not kept and generally poor at marketing my property not to mention the excessive commission fee. I then after 3 months looked elsewhere at other agents and spoke to Goadsby. I met with Rob the branch manager an explained my journey. I was given advice and explicately explained my grevancies with the level of customer service from Connells and asured this would not be replicated with Goadsby. This turned out to be the case, I recieved brilliant customer service from Rob and his team and have successfully accepted an offer on my property. The experience I have recieved from the two agencies is a polar opposite and I would recommend to other sellers locally to choose Goadsby when marketing their properties.

We've just completed the sale of our house, expertly managed by Rob Ward, Jordan, Julie and all the team at Goadsby Salisbury. I can't rate this service highly enough, it felt reassuring to have the personal attention of the Branch Manager all the way through the sale.
When our solicitor informed us that we'd exceeded the quotation price with all the chasing down the chain, Rob Ward was the only one making progress - for no extra charge - by working through the situation with the other estate agent Office managers. Trying to arrange a rental, with an exchange of contracts date moving to the right all time is hard enough - it's worth far more than people realise to be getting reassuring emails at 9pm, with new, critical information.
Cheaper than Connells and Bassets, but the value of someone relentlessly pushing the chain hard is beyond measure when you're dealing with a conveyancing factory that doesn't want to communicate.
Sincere thanks to all at Goadsby - you made a real difference.
