We have recently moved from East Sussex. Symonds and Sampson were so helpful and fitted our viewing in at the last minute. Issy met us and negotiated us around 2 properties, quite late in the day. No pressure or sales pitch thankfully. The sale was straightforward and any queries we had were effortlessly answered. All the office staff were friendly and helpful. When we eventually moved in there was a welcome package and card, it was a lovely touch to a stressful long journey.

I strongly advise to avoid like the plague!
If you want to deal with an estate agent that respects you and your time don't bother with this branch.
They have no common decency to communicate with you as an interested person in one of their properties and are happy to leave you hanging, waiting for a response (that you never recieve... )
However it's been a pleasure dealing with the Yeovil branch, this Bridport branch could do with learning a thing or two from them, such as communication and customer service skills.
I've frustratingly had to leave one star to post this review which needs to be changed as I'd rather have left none at all.

There was always someone at the end of the phone and all our enquiries were answered promptly. Even after the sale had gone through they continued to provide additional service and advice to us. They seemed to get the balance just right, giving assistance to the buyer to view the house with builders etc, but pushing on when things seemed to slow, to bring the sale to a great conclusion. Daniel and the whole team at Symonds and Sampson provided a truly brilliant service throughout this transaction.
Even though they were acting for the sellers, they also looked after us (the buyers) so beautifully throughout. Daniel did such a great job of managing our nerves at various glitchy moments in the transaction, steered us beautifully and was incredibly thoughtful and responsive throughout - even from paternity leave! And the team all backed him up so beautifully, being highly proactive and creative at various points to unblock bottlenecks during the transaction and going way beyond the call of duty. I can't recommend Symonds and Sampson Bridport highly enough - they made a really tangible and positive difference to what is usually a very stressful experience.

It has not been the easiest year to buy and sell property, but Symonds and Sampson have come up trumps on three counts: selling our previous home, arranging a rental contract and matching us with the lovely new home we have just purchased through them. Throughout, everyone we have dealt with has been professional, responsive and pro-active, the team being led by Steve including Kathryn, Daniel, Holly, Ruth and Naomi. Buying and selling property is a major event and can be very stressful: we trusted Symonds and Sampson and they delivered - thank you each and every one! Excellent experience selling our house. Daniel McGee was professional but friendly and understanding throughout, even in the tough moments. Was told we couldn't view a property unless we had an offer in place on our own house. Would not be very happy with this if my property was for sale with them . In previous purchasing have not come across this issue, and can only see this policy benifits the estate agent. As someone who has previously purchased and marketed with them, i would question this policy before considering them again.

A friendly and amicable service, I never lost faith that Dan would see both deals through in a complicated chain, looking to exchange during a pandemic! A cool, calm head in stressful times, Dan duly delivered!
Symonds and Sampson are a professional outfit in every capacity, all the staff I dealt with were faultless, headed by the magnificent 5 star Dan.

Ethical landlords, steer clear! Do not go with this agent if if your values include being a 21st century landlord! A previous tenant of theirs, I dared to rise above my station by complaining about the state the house was left in by their tradesman when I returned home from 10 days in hospital, making it extremely difficult for me to move around in a state of convalescence. No satisfaction resulted from my complaint, their agent was determinedly unapologetic and I resolved there and then to not allow myself to be treated so poorly. I was lucky enough to be in a position to buy a house and immediately did so. Shortly afterwards I spent £300+ on an end of tenancy clean, using the local cleaning firm and service OF THEIR CHOOSING! They then withheld the deposit over a dusty skirting board on the stairs (presumably left by the cleaning firm - remember - OF THEIR CHOOSING) and insisted on a further £18 of cleaning to put this right. This was a laughably obvious punishment for my daring to complain and then simply hand in notice on my tenancy without need of a reference - a last chance to wield a bit of power, made all the more immoral by the condition of the house when I moved in: it was filthy and hadn't been cleaned, which was even noted on the inventory. This didn't deter them from their extortionate behaviour. I only feel for those tenants less able than I to escape their clutches.

I'm not surprised by the preceding excellent reviews of this office and Daniel Magee in particular. I was looking to sell my place in London and buy in Bridport. I viewed a house with Daniel in September and was on the verge of making an offer when my sale fell through. Briefly, I accepted a second offer in early November and came down to look at houses, thinking I'd have to rent. The house I'd viewed before was still available, I viewed again and had my offer accepted on 16th November. Daniel was very helpful - and encouraging! I'd agreed London completion on 14th December and he really helped move the process along, particularly in liaising with the seller. We exchanged contracts on 18th December and I got the keys on 4th January. Daniel deserves much credit for steering the process to such a speedy resolution. And he's a really nice guy too! I heartily recommend the firm.
