I have changed my review to a one star. On the surface all looks well but due to the way they have handled the sales of a family members house and then lying to a friend of mine who was trying to buy the house next door. They told him the house had been sold when infact it had not and they were trying to stop him switching to a different property to purchase. I won't be using them to buy or sell properties going forward.

When you buy or sell a house there are bound to be choppy waters to sail. You will need people who can chart a steady course and guide you through and these guys certainly did that for us. We valued prompt and regular communication along with a shoulder to lean on when decisions had to be made. There always seemed to be a finger on the pulse for us when we rang with an concerns. Industry leaders I would say.

When he first came to value the house, Steve was immediately impressive - he understood straightaway what the constraints would be on finding the right buyer and didn't make wild promises about the valuation. Throughout lockdown, he and Claire kept working to find us that buyer. It really wasn't easy but they did it. They kept us very well informed about all the viewings and the various offers, and didn't ever pressure us to take an offer we weren't comfortable with. Steve was immensely helpful during the actual sale, keeping in touch with the buyer and sorting out all sorts of queries. Very good photography and property details. Steve and Claire worked so hard to sell our rather quirky house - it really needed the right buyer and they never gave up in spite of lockdown. For various reasons we had to be pretty picky about who we were willing to sell to, and they were immensely helpful and diligent when it came to telling us about the viewings and the various offers. It was really not easy for them, but they got everything right - from Steve's first visit to value the property, we knew that this was the agent we wanted to go with: he understood immediately that it wasn't going to be the perfect house for everyone and that he and Claire would have to really work to find a buyer. When Steve arrived for our initial discussion, we were impressed with his friendly manner, putting us under no pressure, just explaining the current situation in the market. We decided to place our home with them and have had no cause to regret the decision, We were kept in the picture as various interested parties visited, until someone fell in love with our house and in time the sale went through. I must also mention Claire who did the visits with the potential buyers, she was always enthusiastic and reported back to us after each visited.
We have no reason whatsoever not to recommend Taylor Brightwell if you are looking for a professional company to sell your home, we were completely satisfied with the service they gave us.

I have used Taylor Brightwell on numerous occasions over the years and would recommend them unreservedly. I have always found them to be straight down the line with realistic valuations and they pro-actively follow up any glitches or unexplained delays during the conveyancing process. Most recently Steve did so and, having endured several frustrating lapses over numerous weeks, we exchanged contracts the next day.
Within the office, they work as a close team and update each other in a very efficient manner.
