Rented with Taylors for 2.5 years and then used them to buy my first property, and they were excellent in both! Charlie and Georgie were always very friendly, understanding and helpful during our tenancy. The only negative about our time renting was that some of the maintenance issues took a bit too long to resolve.
Emily was fantastic in the whole process of buying my first house. She was really on the ball and helped move things along well. She was always helpful and professional and very good at responding to emails quickly.
I also used their in-house mortgage consultant Cerys and she was very good as well, explaining everything to me very well and helping choose the right mortgage.

I would have given a zero star rating but it would only allow 1 star. Avoid at all cost. I would never recommend this company along with Jjl interiors Ltd landlords to anyone. The communication from the both of them is extremely shocking. I rented out a property which seemed to be all good. However, once moved in, there was problem after problem. Which every problem was reported back to them as things needs repairing. From leaks in the roof, sewer drain backing up into the toilet and sink, rats running around, mould growing up the side of the wall in the kitchen, no fascia on the outside wall where the rats were getting in. these were main things that I reported starting back in July 2023, in which I had to chase them up constant to try and get these sorted as these are something that should be a big priority. Upon emails and phones calls that were sent, still nothing was done. They eventually got someone to come out after months, to look at the roof and done a horrendous job as the roof still leaked. They were supposed to put the fascia on but left it on the floor in the garden. I sent a picture of the rats to them and still done nothing. The sewer drain kept backing up and flooding the garden with sewage which backed up coming back up into the toilet. I reported the drain in the November and nothing got done. With the rain pours that we had did not help with it at all. There were so many other minor problems that I had yet to report such as the front door dropped so it was difficult to lock/unlock, no seal in the living room window so you can see outside, the living room light and dining room light were wired wrong as one switch did not work and the other would turn both of them on and off at the same time, when the gas had an inspection the engineer said that it was earthed wrong, I could go on with so many other issues but I didn’t get around to reporting them due to trying to get the other issues sorted. The communication is shocking. June this year I had a contractor come out to look at the roof after months of reporting that roof still leaks, he came and didn’t do anything because he said that whoever patched it up did a really bad job that the whole roof needs replacing. This was the last straw and managed to end my agreement. Now on the next problem, the tenancy ended at the beginning of July last month and now the landlord has the audacity to deduct money off my deposit for cleaning deductions, which I had left the property in high standard and clean which I have photos and videos to prove how I left it. He is only giving me just over half of my deposit back. And I’m still trying to get any of my deposit back and now trying to get an answer from the agency and landlord seem impossible. The stress that the agency and landlord have put me through since I moved in has been awful. They made the house look nice etc until you move in and see the close ups which turn out to be horrible patched up work. I just want my deposit back and be on my way but they cant even seem to do that. Considering they have a 90 day period where they hold your deposit for, they don’t seem to be in any rush giving it back. I will be taking this further as I haven’t heard anything back yet again and have none of my deposit back!

I've used Taylors' fully managed service for my rental property over the last two years, and during this time, I've received terrible service and have been left out of pocket on several occasions.
During the onboarding process, everything was great. The people I dealt with in the branch were friendly, helpful, and responsive. After this, the 'management' of my property was handed over to their central office, and things went downhill.
At the end of the first year, the tenants left and sorting out the rent they owed, damage to the property, and their bond was a complete fiasco.
I had to do most of the work myself to put together the list of damage to the property, despite most of it being blatantly obvious. The person handling the check-out process clearly wasn't interested.
I was (mis)sold the zero deposit scheme on the basis that it covered a higher amount than a traditional deposit. However, when I needed to claim against it, I was advised that "adjudicators always seem to find in favour of tenants more than landlords and that 40-60 % on average is awarded to landlords". If I'd known this, I would never have agreed to a zero deposit scheme instead of a cash bond.
The tenants made an offer far short of the amount owed, which I refused, but Taylors authorised it anyway and the claim was settled. It felt like they did what was easiest for them, were completely unhelpful, and were as good as rude in the way that they dealt with me throughout this process.
During my current tenancy, what should have been a routine maintenance job was completely botched by Taylors' contractors, and the only solution they offered was to pay the contractors even more to put it right. After speaking to the tenants, it was clear that either Taylors or the contractors were lying about what went wrong and I was offered no help or support in resolving the situation. I received no money back for the botched work, and will have to pay again for someone else to fix the mess they made.
Taylors were aware for months that I was considering moving to another estate agent at the end of the current tenancy, and to add insult to injury, nine days before the end of the tenancy, casually dropped in that there would be a six month notice period if I wanted to leave. The cherry on their sh1t sundae.
I know that finding an estate agent tends to be a case of 'who is the least bad', but I'm sad to say that Taylors are nowhere near the top of that list.

Anyone who has had the experience of buying and selling a property will know this is a horrible and stressful time to say the very least ! I have to say that all the staff at Taylor’s I’ve dealt with have been efficient and helpful. Darren from Cardiff Bay branch was the initial contact. He had humour and explained everything clearly and the property was put on the market very quickly. Then the sale was handled by the Roath branch Lauren had to carry out so many viewings always punctual and feedback was always prompt. Karl was always on hand to answer any questions. What I particularly liked was the fact all phone calls and emails were answered very quickly which was pleasing.
All the staff were friendly, approachable and helpful and explained things clearly in language that I understood!!
It’s not over yet but I’m glad Taylor’s’ are there to support me through the next stage.

A very mixed bag. They were good at finding tenants for us and we've used them twice for this as it worked well the first time. We asked them to fully manage one property and this did not go well. Our tenant has housing benefit and it's paid directly to the landlord as she is classed as vulnerable. The accounts department at Taylors absolutely couldn't cope with processing the Council payments. Month after month I would have to chase up the money and sometimes we didn't receive any rental income for 6 or 8 weeks. They always blamed the Council for not using the right reference code, but even when I told them the dates and amount they didn't seem to be able to trace the payments - they said they had too many payments to be able to track a particular one. They never apologised for late payments or tried to solve the problem. Finally we switched to a new management company who have no problem passing on the Council's money to us. We left Taylors with them still owing us a month and a half's rent. Charlotte Thomas was wonderful in dealing with this - she chased the finance department repeatedly for us, behaved very professionally and always responded promptly and politely to my many emails, even when I was getting increasingly frustrated. Although I cannot recommend Taylors as a whole I can definitely recommend Charlotte.

I have been chasing my deposit back for 2 months. Avoid this agency at all cost. The only reason why they have so many stars is because they push people to give them review after moving in, after that they completely ignore you. Message for tenants: If they ask you for a positive review once you move in please wait till you tenancy ends and do it afterwards, for those that are thinking about using this agency there are much better options. I cannot believe I have been waiting 2 months to get my deposit back. They also sent my personal details to Swalec that is now chasing me to pay the electricity for the property I have never lived in( they damaged my credit from 992 to 980). I spent hours if not days trying to get my money back plus chasing Swalec to cancel my account at the property I have never lived in. If you are buying house think about this twice, if they are not capable of dealing with tenants think what happens if they make mistake dealing with sale of the property( yes you might lose money for solicitors, definitely not worth it).

I used this branch for both let and initial sale of my 2 bed house in Old St Mellons and have very split opinions about the two departments. I do NOT recommend their sales service to anyone.
The sales agent I dealt with is Karl Pendry and I cannot say he is helpful or professional. During viewing stage, fake information regarding the property availability was given to several buyers which caused a serious complaint from my tenants.
In the negotiation stage, he failed to highlight the risk of buyer’s mortgage conditions and persuaded me hard to continue with the underpriced offer after providing incorrect market trend information which he never admits it was due to his own lack of knowledge about local area. One of his colleagues actually phoned another agent to ask their sold prices nearby because they had absolutely no clue.
I pulled out from the sale and terminated my agreement with Taylor’s immediately after. Another agent managed to secure a 10% higher cash offer 2 weeks after and their fees was even lower than Taylor’s.
Letting department was great in the beginning finding tenants and getting everything set up. I recommended their service to a number of friends locally. Although they failed to provide keys to their own colleagues to do the checkout report even it was paid and arranged weeks ago. Would give them 4 out of 5 but unfortunately their sales colleague managed to achieve 0 out of 5 so overall 2 stars.

The estate agent, Jaf, that took me round the property was great! He was patient waiting for me when I gave notice that I was 15 mins late for the viewing. He was polite, well mannered throughout and honest with the information he gave. You often have faults of properties sugar coated for sales purposes, however, I appreciate being told straight to the point to save both our time, which Jaf did well. I knew immediately from our conversations the work that was needed on the property. Jaf later told me he was knew to the job and only 18 years old which shocked me. I look forward to doing more business with him.

Please please think twice before using Taylor’s.
After losing my husband and being a cancer survivor I was ready to make the move and find a new home. I was so excited when I found a house with Taylor’s Estate agents, First I was told that I would have a better chance of getting the house if I used their mortgage broker. I knew this was against the law as I already had a mortgage approval in place and a very substantial deposit. I told them this after that they decided not to put my second offer to the vendor. I went to see the vendor and they confirmed they had not received the improved offer. When I challenged Taylors and spoke to the Manager l was meet with one lie after another. The girl who did not put my offer in sat there looking like she would rather be anywhere else.I have always believed in treating people with respect and honesty and I am so sad to have come across people like this. I am sure that there are lots of very good estate agents out there but these are not one of them.I would like to give them no stars but it does not let you to do this. I am taking this matter up with the Ombudsman as they have repeatedly broken the estate agent’s code of practice. Clearly this is what you face in an non-regulated industry. If I carried on like this in my profession I would have been sacked.

I used Taylor's back in the 90's to both sell my home and purchase a new one. At the time, it was effortless and having had that experience, we decided to use them again to sell a house from a member of our family that had passed away.
Initially, everything appeared to be going well and more so, due to the current covid pandemic, we were aware that processes may be delayed.
As time passed, we did however become increasingly frustrated with the lack of communication from both Taylor's and Country wide solicitors who were in fact, acting for both seller (us) and the buyer.
It was only after we pushed for a better service and did at one point suggest that unless we had some sort of completion date due to the length of time it was taking, then we would have been forced to put the house back on the market.
This was due again to lack of communication, questions coming in that had already been answered (sometimes twice) and a dispute over a land registry document which had expired many years ago and was totally irrelevant to the process.
As I have mentioned, we were fully aware that everyone was under pressure in the current climate, however we did feel there were some delay tactics during the process. It wasn't until a family member attended at Taylor's with what I can only describe as an ultimatum, was it then that we started to receive phone calls with updates and eventually the house was sold on the completion date after we basically demanded one.
With regards to Taylor's, Karl Pendry did the best job he could in the circumstances and in fairness, delivered at the end.
In relation to Countrywide Solicitors, Emma and Zoe were extremely helpful and did keep me informed also towards the end.
Would we use Taylor's again? Probably but I think we would need better reassurances at the start of any transaction and more communication during the actual process even if it's a phone call to say, "Nothing new, just updating you". It's better to hear something than nothing at all.

I let my house for a period of 2 years with Taylors as the agents. During that period I had two tenants both found by the agents with only a period of 7 days between the two as Taylors had potential tenants "in waiting".
During the two years I found the employees very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Any problem on my side or the tenants was communicated and dealt with within hours and not days.

It was actually quite a whim that we walked into the Taylors Estate Agents in Roath after a few weeks of idle searching for houses. But we where glad we did, we couldn't have had a better experience. From the first phone call, right up to the completion of the property was excellent.
Incredibly knowledgeable and professional staff, really supportive and helpful. Throughout the process we were helped, supported and guided without any pressure. We were able to ask questions throughout and get answers quickly.
The biggest positive I can give the guys is that they where incredibly helpful when any issues where raised, dealing with them straight away and going above and beyond to help us through them.
Having spoken to others about their experience we feel really fortunate to have had such an efficient service so a big thank you from us for making it all so easy.

My boyfriend and I started renting with Taylor's in July of this year. This company charges the most for their letting fees and so you would think they would have the best customer service, but they do not. When we first moved in my boyfriend and I did a detailed inventory of the property and reported multiple repairs that needed done as well as a strong damp smell in a storage cupboard. We did not get any of these repairs fixed until almost 8 weeks after they were reported and the damp issue has still has not been addressed. As tenants we bleached the walls of the cupboard, provide the storage area with ventilation and still it smells up our entire house. Since I have been living in this house my allergies have gotten worse and so I am worried that there might be mold that is not visible which maybe contributing to my amplified allergies. We have contacted the letting company and our landlord, where we were either ignored or promised that someone would come and look at the property but no actions have been made. We are fed up with this company. I would suggest that you save yourself the frustration and let with another letting company. Taylors DO BETTER.

Taylors dealt with both the sale of a property and my rental. The sales team were excellent, especially Charles and Richard. Within 2 weeks of putting my property on the market I had over 20 viewings and they negotiated a sale swiftly to my satisfaction. The lettings department are also very efficient, especially Taylor, who made my lettings experience trauma free and understood my needs. Called to book a viewing for a house and was basically told that I couldn't afford it and that they wouldn't show me the property.
Very disappointing that I'm being told that I can't purchase a house when the 'salesman' says, 'it's not in your budget'.
Used to work for the Countrywide Group, can't believe how bad EA customer service!

We had our offer accepted in December and were very excited, however it took a little longer than expected due to issues out of our control, but we just recently moved in and we're very happy. I have been thoroughly impressed by how seamlessly Taylors work. I would recommend in particular for any buy-to-let properties as Jack & Taylor in the lettings department make the entire rental process simple and hassle-free, and they work extremely efficiently with Jemma in the sales department who really does go out of her way to offer the best service. I have been very pleased with the service provided by both Jack and Taylor. They have found me tenants twice now, initially when I first purchased my property, and again when that tenant left. They found me new tenants very quickly, so that I had virtually no gap in rental income. I manage the property myself, but my new tenants moved in just as I was going on holiday so I was a little concerned that they would have no one to go to with any issues, but Taylor kindly offered to be a point of contact for them in case of any teething problems whilst I was away. When I need new tenants I will definitely go to Taylor’s at Roath again.

Couldn't ask for a more helpful, dedicated and happy bunch of staff. After encountering a few issues with our previous letting agents, Taylors couldnt have done enough to help to resolve the issues, even walking to our old estate agents and trying to deal with the issues there and then! Looking for and moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do in a life time. With agency fees being as high as they are, I expected more help and a positive attitude. I'm not sure if I spoke to an agent from Albany road branch but I wouldn't recommend Taylors!

As completely new at this, we were in the hands of the manager, Jack Mitchell and his colleague, Taylor Micallef.
This has proved to be an excellent professional working relationship, and they have metaphorically held our hands through the process of letting the flat, very effectively.

Taylor was very helpful throughout the whole process. There was a last minute change of mind from the landlord for our first choice house (which was completely out of Taylor's control) and we were offered our second choice, which was actually a much better house although £150 a month more, without having to pay any extra fees. We were looking to move in very quickly and everything was organised by the time we wanted to move :)
