Hands down the best estate agents. Clara has been perfect, we have had a lot of viewing where unfortunately we did not get the property but each time she was brilliant. What super service from Watson Bull Porter Lettings Team, regarding the letting out of my house, 5 Whitecroft Park. Two individuals in particular, Jack and Clara, from the Newport, Isle of Wight Office who have been first class all round.
Their high levels of courtesy and their continuous efforts to keep me informed and abreast of the process has been outstanding.
They have been very proactive too; for example, both Clara and Jack suggested a quick switch to Unfurnished, as opposed to Furnished would secure a Tenant; and it did. They both were always on hand to advice regarding the house clearance etc

I was a buyer and the way this Estate Agent has treated me and the way they spoke to me including their advice is appalling. I would not use or even consider using this Estate Agent for selling, buying or anything ever again..
I was told much false information (dates they kept informing me was changing constantly).
My Dad & Uncle were in hospital at the same time and I was next of kin. Despite this, I continued to action any requests from my solicitors and liaised with the Estate Agent. Their response was "I know you have a lot going on, but you are delaying the whole chain and its about to collapse. You just need to exchange now" - To note: at this stage, my solicitor was still waiting for answers from the sellers solicitors and had advised me we weren't legally ready to exchange.
I was being pestered by the Estate Agent constantly with phone calls and emails. Which is very funny, because once I put an offer in at the very beginning, they failed to return my calls or answer my emails.
My mental health deteriorated because of the way they managed my purchase. It was that bad, I got close to pulling out from buying the property.
The Estate Agent also played on the fact I was a first time buyer. They attempted to refer to me to mortgage brokers and solicitors who ripped you off. The solicitor they referred me to, meant I had to liaise with 2 different companies (Country Wise & PCS Legal) and neither spoke with the other. I was told by all 3 companies (Country Wise, PCS LegaI & Watson Bull & Porter) that as a first time buyer I had to ay stamp duty (this is incorrect and was only rectified when I sent them links to the government website showing I didn't have to pay stamp duty). I was also given various different quotes for the invoice, none of which matched and I was asked for my deposit money within the first week of being with them, before they had even requested the searches. I didn't give it to them. Eventually, after a couple of complaints, I switched solicitors with no penalties for myself. After I resolved this issue, the Estate Agent didn't explain the situation to the Seller at all, so I had to drop the seller a quick email and apologised for doing so.
I experienced extremely poor customer service. They are only concerned about meeting their targets. I would never use this Estate Agent Agent and would recommend others to consider using them.

I have used Country Wide Lettings in Newport for 5 years for properties I own and they have always found me the perfect tennant. They go above and beyond to help with all the paperwork needed and are in regular contact with you at all times. Lauren is always so pleasant and answers emails straight away. Daniel has been especially helpful with any professional advise.

Finding somewhere off of the Island when you're on the mainland is notoriously difficult, from the video tour I secured my new home and it's been an absolute pleasure dealing with Lauren and Daniel. Laurens positive cherpy demeanor had a wonderfully calming effect in a very stressful time. Nothing was too much and the team worked tirelessly to chase my garentour company so I could move at very short notice.

So recently it’s been really difficult finding houses etc as there’s not many places going but I had a phone call from Lauren offering a veiwing for a house!! Me and my partner took the opportunity too go for it???? the agent I had (Lauren Betterton) was absolutely amazing she was so helpful and kept me up to date with everything. Im a anxious person who likes to be in the loop with things and Lauren really helped with this as she went through everything needed also was quick with replies by email when ever I had messaged!! My Sister in law had the misfortune of dealing with Lee from the sales team recently when she and the family had to move when their landlord sold the house. Despite not having WBP as landlords Lee felt it necessary to use defamatory language and verbal abuse during a telephone call with my sister in law after the property was vacated.
If it wasn't upsetting enough to face an eviction during a pandemic and having to move to a new town having to endure what can only be described as a tirade of abuse was incredibly distressing. Nobody deserves to be treated like that.

I'm so thankful, he genuinely cares about you, I thought estate agents were all about money but in this case I was very mistaken! definitely recommend these estate agents if you are looking for a company that you know will look after you and your family. absolutley rubbish, 8 months in only to end up with no sale because of incompetence with the so called sales team , and an equally rubbish law firm reccomended by WBP , would not reccomend anyone to use this estate agent. will seek compensation for time wasted , this was certainly made even worse as my dad had passed away and this sale was needed to clear bills. The staff here had information that was in fact not correct and led to this experience being one of the most stressful times of our lives ........ no one in the office can help and the manager is never there .... part of a bigger group including shulmans solicitors , there are no words to describe how we feel that could be posted here without going into a major rant . Stay away and take my advise.

Have had an amazing service from WBP .
Had house on market with 2 other agents and whilst I had a few viewings I felt they were the wrong buyers. Went on with WBP I have to say Rosie was amazing...keen to get going and confident she could sell it while I was still feeling dubious...Day one first viewing with the right buyer and boom it was sold (STC of course) couldn't believe it! Once again thank you so much ...and if anyone reading this is considering going on the market look no further!

The Watson bull and porter in Ventnor is now permanently closed, therefore I can not write a review on them so I am doing it here. When viewing a property in Shanklin, clarendon road, I asked whether it was a complete freehold and mortgageable as that was my main concern. I wanted a complete freehold property. The guy said it was. So our offer was accepted fees were paid for searches only to find that the property was not mortgageable and was not complete freehold but a flying freehold. We of course did not want to purchase. We lost our money for the searches and the manager Lee would not reimburse. They have been deceitful. After requesting he also said he would send a contact so I can email a complaint but he still has not given me the email even after asking several times. Please everyone be wary of this company please, I feel also they took advantage as we are a young couple.

Chris and Karen have been exceptional in sorting out any problems with my tenants after they have left and the Newport office always find me good tenants for my properties with little delay.
