I would highly recommend Whitegates.. Darren came out to value my house, it was very relaxed and no hard sell. I was very happy with the valuation. My house had a sold sign on it within a week of Whitegates advertising it for me. It sold to the first people to look round it. Theresa, Debbie and all the team kept me very well informed even in these difficult times. The service was just excellent!
Thank you so much to all the staff at Whitegates.
Very pleased with the first class service I received from all the staff at Whitegates Barnsley sold my house in just a few days. Very friendly and professional and have no hesitation recommending all the team at Barnsley.
Look nowhere else for an Estate Agent. Absolutely fabulous very smooth not one hiccup, a totally professional service from start to finish with great communication, information and honesty in valuation (not over inflated like others just after the listing), well done to all Whitegates Bebington staff, a simply perfect experience.
Brilliant service. Could not be more helpful. Found us two houses to rent almost immediately. Worked with us to get the moving in date right for all concerned. Really professional and thoroughly lovely to deal with. Thanks so much xxx
Whitegates were always helpful, timely and friendly. I would deal with them again and recommend to others.
Helped sell my house, but did not always keep me informed of people attending the house. Main problem was that they would go to the house and turn off lights when we had left them on for security. Also they let a surveyor in on his own who failed to turn the alarm on and left doors open inside and turned lights off. The house was not lived in so the security was my main priority.
From Stephen valuing our property & working on the sale brochure i.e. Photographs to Michelle & Julie & Amanda arranging the viewings & keeping us up to date with the offers & their support was really appreciated to make selling our property stressfree! We would highly recommend using Whitegates Cleckheaton & their fab team!
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS AGENCY!!!!!
Where do I start.
First of all a few days into the letting we were left with no heating or hot water FOR THREE DAYS and when we tried to get through to the landlord/lady she inconveniently could not be reached until threatened not to pay rent. A violation of human privilege.
I left the property almost 9 months ago and I am frequently receiving messages and calls from bailiffs and water companies telling them I owe them money and that they will stain my credit score if I do not pay, which whitegates also said they would cover. The fact they have accessibility to me means they breached data-protection by disclosing my name, personal address and date of birth etc.. There is no way they should have my details as I never signed a contract with any company other than whitegates.
Whitegates is a truly pathetic agency with no regards for it's tenants, especially students. Plenty more happened which I would be happy to disclose to anyone who would like to get in touch.
Please do not use this agency, you run at your own risk if you do and they have left over £1,000 of debt which companies are now saying I am liable for which include water bills (which whitegates should cover as stated In the contract and if we go over the limit we pay the money directly to whitegates) and Council tax (which students are exempt from)
Again, DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY
Edit: Seen the response
1st- My main concern is not the outstanding bills, but it was the fact I was not able to get someone to repair heating and hot water for three days, even when persisting with calling them.
2nd- Water bill WAS included for the year I was there and whenever we had gone over the limit we were provided, the estate agent at WHitegates said Whitegates themselves would contact us but here I am a year later getting a call from a different water company I have never heard of and that I never signed a contract with calling my phone saying I owe money. Also if Data Protection was not breached then how would they get my number and know my address?
I do not need to speak to anyone to rectify anything as I have paid everything to do with Whitegates, the only company I signed a contract with.
I just want anyone reading to look at other Letting agencies as they are more likely to provide a better service than this one.
I've just sold my first flat in Coventry city centre after 9 years of ownership. For 8 of those years the flat has been rented out with Whitegates and they've provided an excellent service. John Madden and the team have been first rate with their communication, their location and value for money. I thoroughly recommend using Whitegates for all your residential lettings and sales. Thanks again!
We had a very smooth sale and every step of the way there was communication from Caroline and Megan and nothing was too much trouble. I would strongly recommend Whitegates compared to other local agents who once they have your business lack interest. I cannot sing the praises of these estate agents enough, I recommend anyone thinking of selling their house to you use these guys has you will not be disappointed.
Recently purchased an investment property through Whitegates. Caroline (and the rest of the team too) were awesome and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Would have no hesitation in recommending Caroline to friends/family who are looking to buy or sell in the Crewe area. She is an asset to the organisation.
Started off exceedingly well. Tracey and Clarke came to have a look round and both were very enthusiastic about our home. The words "really excited to view your home" were the first uttered. It was great to get such a good reaction from them. We signed up. Photos were taken and details agreed. And we signed up. We were going on holiday and were happy to leave our home in their hands.
Sadly the enthusiasm couldn't drum up one single viewing. We came back off holiday and as we had received no contact from Whitegates for approx. 4 weeks it was up to us to chase them. It was then that we found out that a new Sales Manager had been appointed and we were told that she wanted to visit us to discuss our property. We are experiences in selling homes and immediately came to the conclusion that a price reduction would be the ONLY suggestion put forward. Whilst it went against our own view of the property market we agreed that we would run with "a guide" price. This was much lower than the original valuation we had received from Whitegates and 3 other estate agents. Unfortunately this did not bring about any viewings either. Not even the ever present "look but not buying" people.
We had been doing our research of the property market and it was clear that the market in our area had slowed almost to a standstill. Something that Whitegates was not prepared to accept.
It is the responsibility of any Estate Agent to ensure that they investigate local trends and that they advise their clients accordingly. At not time should any estate agent encourage sellers to "reduce" the price in order to possibly get a sale.
There was no more contact with Whitegates until we instructed them to remove our property from the market as there was no point in leaving it on just for the sake of it. In our particular area there were/are still some 6-8 properties of different size and price which have been on the market are are still on the market.
So in relation to our review would we go back to Whitegates if we decide to re-market in the future - probably not. We will definitely do our research a bit more thoroughly as it is very demoralising when you don't get even one viewer. Communication with the sellers is absolutely necessary for any agent even if it is just to remind them that they have not been forgotten.
Not sure that any one reading this will agree with our view but unfortunately it is how we feel about our experience.
They have gone leaps and bounds to help my girlfriend move into her new home.. they have been to helpful and friendly. Would highly rate!
I enquired about a house and was advised the landlord is looking for a couple. The rent was not particulary high so I didn't really understand this and feel unfairy discriminated against if I can afford the rent there shouldn't be an issue.
I also mentioned that I was worried about losing my holding deposit if my credit check failed. I don't have any CCJ's but was concerned about losing my £100.00 the lady I spoke to kept huffing and puffing over the phone and I found her quite patronising and unhelpful. I mentioned I didn't have a guarantor and she just basically said I would need one. I found her discriminatory, rude and unhelpful and I will not use in the future.
Useless cowboys. Cost my parents thousands when they got their house back from the awful tenants they filled it with. Avoid at all costs.
I recently bought a house and I can say confidently say that the service I got from Whitegates was excellent. From viewing to completion they were friendly and helpful. Any queries were answered in timely fashion. Very professional. I would highly recommend.
