UPDATE: About 2 hours after I posted this the rubbish was cleared. It did take a couple of email complaints but it was sorted without further discussion really quickly and efficiently so I have changed my 1 star to 5. Making sure my complaint was dealt with was absolutely the key to a very happy tenant.
I moved into a house managed by whitegates and have complained that there is rubbish in the yard left over from previous tenants or when the house was cleared. I physically can not use my bins because of this, I can't even walk in the yard because of the rubbish dumped all over the floor. I asked them to remove it and they won't schedule a time or date to do this. They say it will be done when some one is passing. Its absolutely disgusting and I have followed all the procedures correctly. They have told me it isn't an emergency and so therefore, not a problem. I will end up having to pay someone to remove it myself because they have made it very clear that they don't care. So, don't bother with Whitegates if you have other options. Their rude and just don't give a damn. I would give them a minus 5 stars if I could.

I have recently completed the purchase of my property with Whitegates Sefton.
My overall experience of this estate agents has been that of excellent practice from start to finish.
Given the current climate in terms of mortgage interest rate uncertainty, I found myself valuing the knowledge and experience this branch has to offer.
James Lacken is the branch manager. What he doesn't know about buying and selling houses isn't worth knowing - his impressive understanding of the conveyancing process was worth its weight in gold, and I can't thank him enough.
I had many questions and needed clarity around several issues. He answered emails promptly, and even if he wasn't in the office (out at a viewing), he was quick to return my calls as soon as he could.
I am so impressed by his responsiveness and readiness with information, but most of all by his attention to detail. The process was not only smooth, but indeed quick - James really gets things done and done properly.
His colleague Tom is an asset to the team - not only is he reliable and diligent, he is also incredibly warm and friendly. I was very grateful for his involvement in the process.
People often say buying a house is the most stressful thing you can do, and yes, it is a huge undertaking. However, James and his team made the whole experience as easy as they could for me. Thank you.

straight forward enough as a sale. Put pressure to use their sollicitors even though I didn't want to and advised how much quicker it would be so did as told.
Didn't inform when buyers mortgage was not valid and they were shopping around for a 2nd one.
With surveys once again they use their own contractor for quotes when the buyer did not want to pay for specialist survey which causes further delays.
In comparison to the experience I had with another estate agent, it felt like they want their fee and any extras they can.

My only flaw would be the solicitors recommendation I found them super slow and lack of communication between sellers and buyers solicitors which caused a-bit of frustration. Had to take them to ombudsman they lied to them too and when I got rewarded compensation they never paid me ! My Solicitors were not the best at communicating with me so I always emailed/called Emma or Lewis and they always got back to me with answers the same day!! They went above and beyond, and I really couldn’t have asked for more.
I recently purchased a property that was advertised through Whitegates and they kept me updated every step of the way, quite often that meant daily.
I dealt mainly with James (who deserves a shout out all of his own!) and Emma and Lewis were also working alongside him and giving me updates.
The communication between the three of them was extremely impressive and every time I spoke to them on the phone they had a lovely manner and ensured me that nothing was too much trouble.

We first listed our property with a local estate agent and after having a sale fall through with them and not many viewings, it was then that we decided to move to Whitegates. James came to visit our property and was very helpful and gave us a lot of advice, we had many viewings through Whitegates and received regular feedback through Lewis and Emma, within a couple of months Whitegates had sold our property, again advising us during the sale. We had a really poor experience with our Solicitors and Emma and James where constantly chasing them. We have also managed to purchase our next property through Whitegates, and again I can’t thank them enough for how fantastic, especially James with his advice and support. Thankyou to everyone at Whitegates and James in particular! We asked five estate agents to visit our family home. Three were local estate agents, two were online estate agents. Initially from James coming into the property, it showed to our family he was the one to proceed with. James is knowledgeable and came more than prepared compared to the other estate agents. The valuation between the agents were all similar however we proceeded with Whitegates after the back of the first appointment with James. After 14 days we had 3 offers all above the asking price. Whitegates carried out all the viewings and kept ourselves up to date throughout the whole process. We had an issue with the buyers solicitor however Whitegates helped out which got it resolved very quickly. Again thankyou again and we would recommend anyone looking to sell to contact yourselves.

Thanks to Emma, James & Lewis for an outstanding service. Me and my girlfriend bought our first property after being turned away from other mortgage advisors and estate agents. James was able to arrange for myself to see there mortgage advisor who got myself a mortgage in principle within a matter of 24 hours! They put a lot more effort in and were so helpful I could not fault them at all! All I am saying that at approximately 100k of a sale I'd expect more from the sales team. Taking the correct keys to the property the appointment whilst I'm taking time out of work would have been a start!
Never seen the likes in any other sales environment in my life and it amazes me how much trust sellers put in these companies. Crazy

Absolutely shocked at the lack of communication from the Whitegates.
As a first time buyer I was looking for properties in the area and had been contacted by Whitegates after initially registering my interest. I eventually found a property listed with them that I wanted to view and so called to arrange this. I was given an approximate time that was subject to change due to the fact that the property was tenanted, however did not receive a confirmation of this or the address via email.
The evening before the viewing I called to check my appointment and request details via email and was assured that I would get this, however this did not happen. Luckily I knew the area and was still able to find the property. The agent with whom I had dealt with on previous communication, was late to the viewing. I made an offer over the phone and asked to receive confirmation of this by email and also to check to ensure they did have the correct email address for me as I had not gotten his previous emails (assuming he had sent them), he assured me that he would call me as soon as he got back to the office. That was the last I heard....
Not only did he not call to check my email address but I never heard what happened to my offer. I can guess that it was not accepted, however this is something you'd expect to hear about rather than being left to guess. I called the office to get some closure however I was told he was not in the office and that he would call me back. Sufficed to say I never got his call.
Quite frankly it's taken the enjoyment out of house hunting and it makes you feel as though you're not appreciated.

Whitegates Bootle!! Worst place ever! Don't waste your money and time...
I wouldn't recommend this place takes money off people and makes you wait over 2 months and pass you from person to person under no circumstances go to these! All my checks was completed went through but still lost the house, me and my son was nearly homeless!!! And the woman in the branch are not helpful at all an when someone is dealing with your application like mine was DEBBIE there never in the office for like 2 months!
