Jacqueline at McFarlane has been looking after my property interests for many years now. The time has come to sell my rental property (due to my ill health). She has a difficult job managing my expectations, the tenant and the contractors. She has demonstrated reliability and persistence. Moreover she has been respectful, efficient and reliable occasionally in difficult circumstances. I would have given 5 stars if I was reviewing Jacqueline alone, however this review is of the service as a whole and some of the contractors have disappointed the tenant.

I recently arranged to rent a property in old town and Christine and Amber were superb in making the end to end journey to renting a property very smooth always keeping me updated along the way.They are both a credit to McFarlanes.Highly recommend them.

Avoid this estate agents. Terrible service and overall experience throughout my tenancy. They view their landlords as their clients and the tenants are just cash cows. Unhelpful and rude staff, one woman in particular who was unfortunately the main person managing my tenancy. Poor service, dreadful communication skills and an overall lack of respect for tenants.
Upon leaving the house after 12 years, they very clearly advised the landlord to take legal proceedings against me and to try and claim my full deposit & more on top (they ended up with nothing after a lengthy dispute). Left a very bitter taste in my mouth after paying £93,000 in rent during my entire tenancy. This agency gives estate agents a bad name. I make sure to tell everyone I know to avoid using McFarlane’s and if you are considering renting through them, I would highly recommend exploring other options. McFarlane’s: please consider how you treat your tenants. Tenants are just as important as landlords as far as your business is concerned.

Nothing but praise.
Experienced, knew the market and local area. Able to recommend local people for needed house checks. Helpful, informative, quick to respond to queries.
Kept in the loop with viewings and outcomes.
Very useful feedback from potential buyers.
Found the Street.co.uk app good.
Would definitely use McFarlane Sales & Lettings again.
