17th Jan 2022 (3 years ago)Unfortunately, they couldn't find a buyer for my stunning flat themselves and had to enlist an outside estate agent, and had me stump up extra money to help compensate them. So they got it done after the end of the contact term, but it cost me £thousands more. This was after they earlier had asked me to agree to halt showings as demanded by an earlier (lower) offer that I reluctantly accepted. That buyer ended up walking weeks later, wasting precious time that could have been spent finding a real buyer. Estate agents are not your friend. No matter how charming they appear before their engagement contract is signed, once you sign it, they revert to their true mercenary selves, pressuring you to accept offers well below the very valuation they provided, because their only loyalty is to earning their fee. Don't get fooled. Wish I never used this JDW office.

We have always been very pleased with their reliable service. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. Kathleen and Kylie in the rental department provide an exceptional service, they are easy to contact, very experienced, professional and dedicated to their jobs. We are very fortunate to have Warren Powell-Richards in Alton. We highly recommend them to both landlords and tenants.

I was particularly impressed with Kristina's swift and precise communication, as well as her knowledge of the development and the property. I have bought and sold properties in Farnham through Hamptons over the last 25 years, and this encounter was up to their usual high standards. Thoroughly recommended.

From the initial valuation from Adam, the ultimate professional, to the ongoing chasing and updating by Kathleen, we felt that they could not have done better. Kathleen, in particular, showed great tenacity in dealing with a number of issues, often overcoming the weaknesses of other parties in the chain, due in part to her skill at building relationships. She was so pleasant to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. I am happy to recommend the team at Hamptons.

Although already familiar with the purchasers, Philip never failed to serve her best interests in securing a pre-marketing sale to a cash buyer. He encouraged us to set an ambitious price and helped us to realise us in double-quick time from offer to completion of just 11 weeks. Back-office service was also superb and personal, thanks to Lizzie. Highly recommended.

Simon was always on the end of the phone/email if needed. Wouldn't use any other estate agent in Hook and cannot recommend Simon and his team highly enough.

Anna managed our whole purchasing process, and was highly accomodating in arranging subsequent viewings and inspections, and invaluable in communicating with the seller's side when our less-than-helpful conveyancer caused delays and missed deadlines. I'd recommend Winkworth, and will most likely seek to use them as my agents when I come to sell my home in the future!

11th Mar 2025 (5 days ago)I have used McCarthy Holden for two purchases and a sale. Sarah, Andrea and Abby were excellent throughout the entire process. There was an incompetent solicitor further down the chain which on multiple occasions threatened the sale but their clear communication and perseverance ensured all transactions eventually took place. Highly recommended
