8th Aug 2026 (6 weeks ago)Very disappointing experience and serious concerns about transparency.<br>We applied to rent 1 Compton Manor while arranging an international move. We were accepted as tenants, paid a holding deposit, received a draft tenancy agreement and underwent referencing and credit checks.<br>We were then informed that the owner had agreed to sell the property and our tenancy would not proceed. We subsequently discovered that the property had been marketed for sale by Warmingham only 1 month before it was advertised to let.<br>We made a formal complaint because neither of us had understood that the property we were applying to rent was actively for sale. Warmingham later stated that their agent recalled verbally telling us this during the viewing. This is completely inconsistent with our recollection: we clearly remember being told that the neighbours property within the six-home development was vacant and for sale, not 1 Compton Manor.<br>After we disputed Warmingham's account in writing, we received no further response or final outcome to our formal complaint.<br>Had we known the property was actively for sale, it would have materially affected our decision to proceed with the deposit, referencing and credit checks.<br>Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Warmingham. We believe the property's dual sale/rental status should have been made absolutely clear before we were asked to commit to the rental process.<br>Prospective tenants are looking for stable homes and often have little room for uncertainty once they begin committing money, time and personal information to a property. In our view, allowing tenants to progress this far without making the risk of an ongoing sale unmistakably clear takes unfair advantage of that imbalance and falls well short of the transparency we would expect from a professional estate agent.
20th Aug 2026 (30 days ago)I first met Marc in 2004 when I bought my first property in the area, and since then I’ve bought, sold and let properties with him and the team.<br><br>The fact that Marc is still my go-to for anything property-related speaks volumes about how much I value his expertise, professionalism and knowledge of the market.<br><br>I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Marc and his team, and I do so frequently!- 5th Aug 2026 (6 weeks ago)If you are thinking of renting in West Berkshire, then please choose Davis Tate and especially Sylwia. We had really excellent support from Sylwia, so kind and so professional. Throughout a tricky process, Sylwia handled everything for us and got the right outcome for us. We really felt that we mattered to her, as well as the whole Davis Tate team. I recommend Sylwia and the whole team wholeheartedly.

Difficult market and everyone sitting tight and so the effort from Victoria and her team to sell our house was even more appreciated. From the first meeting with Victoria to the day we handed the keys over we couldn’t have asked for more.<br>Super professional and kept us informed with every step of the way.<br>Wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again and throughly recommend the team to anyone wishing to sell their property in Newbury and the surrounding area. Later when the prior sell fell through, he was quick to chase up with us. And now we're delighted to be moving into our forever home. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I can't say I was the easiest of clients following a bad experience we had as a buyer by another local estate agent, so you could say I needed abit more reassurance. Sarah made the process a smooth one and not at any point was I paranoid this might fall through. We received a sales memo 20th October and exchanged today. Great experience and cannot fault them! Lorraine was amazing throughout the process, always following up and helping us get everything completed smoothly.<br><br>And a special mention to Carol, who was absolutely excellent at chasing all the solicitors and keeping everything moving when things could have easily stalled!<br><br>A genuinely great team who worked hard for us from start to finish. We’re so grateful for all their help and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to sell their home. ??????????
24th Jul 2026 (8 weeks ago)I arranged a valuation to be done and two agents came out, one seemed very pleasant and nice however the other who wasn’t planned to do the viewing was rude obnoxious and showed very little interest in the property and made me feel as if I had wasted their time. This was a shame as the original estate agent had seemed genuinely nice and professional however did very little talking and was overpowered by the other estate agent. Overall compared to the experience from other estate agents on the same level I was extremely disappointed and upset by the whole experience.
5th Sep 2026 (14 days ago)Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with Downer & Co. Having invited them and others to value my property I decided to go with them as my partner thought they were the most 'salesy' so would do a good job. It was definitely all talk as became apparent very quickly.<br><br>I was upfront to them that, having a newborn, I would prefer to have viewings on the same day/one after another and yet I was constantly only given ad-hoc timeslots on random days due to their lack of availability of staff. It was an upheaval to accommodate. The few people that did view clearly weren't looking for the things my property offered so I don't even think they were properly informed or questioned prior to booking. A huge waste of all our time.<br><br>Communication after signing their terms was poor and at one point it had gone 3 weeks without hearing a thing. When I called to chase and ask for advice on how to proceed, Stuart joked that I could 'drop the price by £50k and it would sell' - I should add, it was listed for the amount he valued it at.<br><br>The person conducting the viewings knew nothing about the property, I saw him on the ring doorbell at one viewing unable to find the keys and telling the viewers he didn't have them (they were in a key safe and given the code AND he had conducted a previous viewing!) in another, he was being asked questions about the property and was unable to answer any of them - all information had been provided when I registered so he hadn't bothered to look.<br><br>All in all just incredibly unprofessional. When I found a property I wanted to buy I gave notice, changed agents and the property sold in 8 days after just one morning of viewings back to back. It was like night and day. Thank god for the local Newbury agent in yellow and red!

From initial property valuation right through to sale and completion he is outstanding.<br>On both occasions we were kept well informed throughout.<br>He listens to your requirements and is a true gentleman when showing potential buyers around.<br>We will not hesitate to use him again in the future.<br>Thank you James.
10th Aug 2021 (5 years ago)After having very difficult & rule breaking tenants for 9 months we were not surprised when they 'jumped ship, without paying rent until the end of the tenancy. We were not allowed into the flat until the end of the tenancy when the check out Inventory was done. Then, surprise surprise the robbing tenants asked for their deposit back! Emily of Sansome & George was very helpful in advising me of the correct process to follow & helped me to secure payment of the deposit which went part way to reimbursing us for the funds lost. Thanks Emily for the excellent support & advice.
8th Sep 2026 (11 days ago)My partner and I have generally had the best experience with Parker’s Tadley.<br><br>We lived at a rented property for just over 2 and a half years and I can’t thank Julie enough for all the help she has given us over the years. Julie is very quick to respond to emails, she points us in the right direction with advice and she shows she cares.<br>Not only has she been great with emails but she has always been available on the end of the phone if we needed her. When we have had maintenance issues she’s quick to speak to the landlord on our behalf and the issues get resolved quickly. Julie would come round to carry out a routine house visit and from the 1st visit to our last she was always so positive, happy and showed a real interest in our lives. It was honestly nice having her come round.<br><br>Thank you for all your help Julie, we both really appreciate it.

From the moment we met her, she was incredibly friendly, approachable and engaging, and made the whole experience feel really relaxed.<br><br>What stood out most was how down-to-earth and personable she was. She was professional without being overly formal or uptight, and it felt like we were speaking to a normal, genuine person rather than just being given the usual estate agent sales pitch.<br><br>She was also absolutely brilliant with my three-year-old daughter, taking the time to chat and engage with her, which I really appreciated.<br><br>Overall, Vassna made a really positive impression on us and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Their local knowledge is second to none and they always give a speedy response to enquiries. I like that they are an established family business who are friendly and professional at all times. They take the rough with the smooth, always trying to bring a positive outcome to any problem. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them.

Always dealt with any issues straight away. Being a tenant with Henwick was easier than being a homeowner because I never had to worry about anything. They just sorted everything out for me. 18th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)I think it depends what partnership you have, I one I had the sales pitch was great but the communication throughout once I signed up with them was terrible, at one point t after I chased and chased for feedback after 1 week after a viewing they told me I had an offer, yes it was very low, but I was never told.

28th Aug 2026 (22 days ago)Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the EweMove team and especially to Craig, Olivia and Megan who were involved throughout the whole process. We were really impressed with EweMove from our first viewing and how knowledgeable Craig was about our house and the area. He answered our many questions and a few we hadn't thought of. We were fairly clueless as first time buyers and Craig was particularly helpful in the first stages of guaging timeframes and next steps. The whole team kept us updated throughout and were all knowledgeable, reassuring, trustworthy and professional. We would definately reccommend to anyone looking to buy or sell in the area. We also loved the welcome box too - that was a lovely surprise!!
