I recently had the pleasure of working with Tayler Reynders (Valuer), Georgie Cox, Alex Blake and Amelia Fielding (Sales Consultant’s) from Jones Robinson and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, they were professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. They all demonstrated a deep understanding of the local market and provided insightful advice that helped me make informed decisions. They were always available to answer my questions and went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of the process ran smoothly. What truly stood out was their commitment to my needs and preferences. They took the time to listen and understand what I was looking for, and they made sure to find properties that matched my criteria perfectly. Their attention to detail and proactive approach made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. I highly recommend Jones Robinson Estate Agents to anyone looking for a reliable and dedicated estate agent. They have earned my trust and gratitude.... Read more

Hillier & Wilson were the agents for the property we bought in Newbury. I cannot rate or recommend them highly enough - Lorraine really went over and above for us, staying on top of people who needed a chase (which was quite a bit with our purchase) - she'd regularly done the chasing before I even needed to ask, she helped us following a survey, and ensured we secured the completion dates we needed. She was highly responsive, even replying outside of office hours! She made the whole process as smooth as possible. The service from start to finish felt personal - we felt valued and really looked after throughout. We moved from London so are totally new to the area and Lorraine has already offered to help with any queries or recommendations we have about Newbury or the property. 10/10 in every way - thank you again to the team at H&W!... People say that moving house is in the top 3 of most stressful things you can go through. Modern thinking has thankfully come up with methods to counteract and reduce stress in our lives. Deep breathing, yoga, music etc all help however for your home move the only thing you need is KATIE from Strutt Parker. Our journey started a few years back with a friendly and professional visit from the SP team. Despite being at the lower end of the market we were very impressed with the advice and services offered and despite a volatile market a buyer was found. Unfortunately due to bad survey we were forced to pull out of our purchase and subsequently our chain collapsed despite the best efforts from Katie. Despite the massive disappointment Katie was so supportive and understanding of the situation. There was no question of who we would call when we were ready to market again. 18 months later Katie was again amazing when we called and a pragmatic and honest conversation about the market was had and we were back on. Despite the market, we found ourselves with 3 offers within days and the advice and understanding of our views and thinking was evident in Katie when deciding which option to take. Katie managed the sale with professionalism and determination and got us through the process with speed, efficiency and understanding. We highly recommend Katie to manage your next house sale.... I would strongly caution landlords, tenants, and prospective clients before engaging Chancellors for property management.
My experience has been marked by poor communication, rigid and questionable fee practices, and a lack of transparency—particularly around statutory repairs and contract terms. Essential repairs (including sanitation and plumbing issues) were significantly delayed despite funds being provided, with no clear or committed timelines given. Information provided to me as the landlord was also inconsistent with what tenants were being told directly, which created unnecessary confusion and frustration for all parties.

I made repeated, good?faith attempts over an extended period to resolve these issues constructively and proportionately. Unfortunately, each attempt was met with a hard, inflexible position rather than meaningful engagement or resolution. I am happy to share the full written correspondence if required, as all communication was conducted professionally and in writing.
I also encountered repeated assertions that a management agreement could not be terminated at the end of a tenancy, despite the landlord–agent contract being separate from the tenancy agreement. Requests for written clarification, timelines, and handover processes were met with vague or contradictory responses rather than clear, professional guidance.
Fees were applied to mandatory statutory repairs by reclassifying them as “refurbishment” purely based on cost thresholds, without itemisation or meaningful explanation.

When these points were challenged—politely and with reference to the relevant legislation—the response remained dismissive and inflexible, rather than transparent or customer?focused.
Overall, the experience felt adversarial rather than collaborative, with more emphasis on enforcing fees and retaining control than on effective property management or fair treatment of landlords and tenants.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend Chancellors to landlords seeking clear communication, timely repairs, or a professional and balanced managing agent relationship.

A quick update for the team here I’ve reached out to Chancellors directors organisation as per note below over a dozen times now no one from our organisation has contacted me. I’ve offered email addresses and phone numbers so their address is complete lip service. Should any perspective landlords have any concerns about this organisation please do reach out to me. As I will happily share with you a copy of all my correspondence is with Chancellors begging for them to interact with me to help resolve the challenges their customer service is completely atrocious. I would strongly recommend looking at other organisations.... Read more
