24th Oct 2026 (9 days ago)I just Completed on my house sale.<br>I placed my instruction with Thomas Merrifield (Kidlington) after first carefully considering Purple Bricks & doing the hard work myself, then, after deciding that I needed a really professional sale (Not something I felt I could bring through the Purple Bricks route) considering what was available on my own High Street . I felt that good local knowledge was important in my chosen Agency.<br>I narrowed it down to 2 well regarded local Estate Agents, & in truth, at the time, I felt that there was nothing between them (Clint came to our home & explained the process, expectations & cost, and answered any questions we had (there were many!)). In the end I could select only one.<br><br>I am absolutely delighted with the work Thomas Merrifield did for me. Very professional, always available, & in the first week we had a number of viewings booked in, these quickly realised two very good offers, one of which I accepted.<br>I am grateful to Lisa who is extremely talented & experienced, she helped navigate us through the process in a calm, efficient and thorough way, always providing updates & offering guidance where needed. Liaising with our Solicitor & all the other solicitors & Estate Agents in the chain. I am in no doubt, that it was Lisa's constant attention to all outstanding details, that kept our house sale & indeed, our whole chain, on track.<br>Our buyers were first time buyers & as such, were quite naive about the processes (this is not a criticism), Lisa was able to provide them with appropriate reassurance & impartial guidance that ensured they remained in the process. 31st Oct 2026 (2 days ago)We recently sold our house through Turners and have nothing but good things to say about them. We had a few false starts getting our house to market and Jeremy and the team were very patient, understanding and supportive of our situation. Once we found a buyer and a house they maintained communication, chased where necessary but were never pushy or insinuated we were asking too much of them. It is only the second time we have bought but it was a world away from the larger chain we bought our first house through. I can't recommend them enough.

Complete waste of our time and a shocking response afterwards.<br><br>I arranged to view a property on McLean Drive in Oxford on Saturday 17th October at 10am with an estate agent named Ibrar Hussain.<br><br>I made it very clear to Ibrar that we were travelling two hours specifically for this viewing, and he agreed to meet us at the property at 10am.<br><br>We got two children up early on a Saturday morning, made the two-hour journey to Oxford and arrived as arranged. Unfortunately, Ibrar was nowhere to be seen.<br><br>We waited outside the property until 10:20am, but nobody arrived. No phone call, no apology, no explanation. Just a completely wasted morning and a four-hour round trip.<br><br>What has annoyed me even more is receiving an email this morning from Ibrar Hussain claiming that he was at the property from 10am until 10:30am and had waited half an hour for us!<br><br>I find this absolutely astonishing, as we were physically at the property during that time. I also have photographic evidence to support our account of events.<br><br>Mistakes happen, appointments get missed, and people occasionally get their wires crossed. I can accept that. What I cannot accept is having our account of events contradicted and being made to feel as though we were the ones who failed to turn up.<br><br>A simple apology and an attempt to put things right would have gone a long way. Instead, Ibrar’s response has made an already frustrating experience considerably worse.<br><br>When people are considering renting a property, particularly when relocating from another area, they should be able to rely on estate agents to honour agreed appointments and communicate professionally.<br><br>This experience has left me extremely disappointed. Our time, fuel and effort were completely wasted, and the response afterwards demonstrated, in my opinion, a complete lack of accountability
