Tried to rent a house they took 6 weeks to finalise anything . They kept losing the paper work and i had 4 different members of staff within the time i dealt with them as staff had walked out. They werent professional and there quality of service was quite inadequate. I ended up having to pull out as the lanlord couldnt be reached and chancellor's never kept me informed unless i called them.

Bad service, used them to find an apartment to rent a couple of years ago and things were fine but this time a nightmare, they didn't turn up to a viewing they had arranged with me. Waste of time.

Not a good experience with the management of a house of mine. Staff constantly changed and when I called, calls were routinely forwarded to other branches and communication was poor.

LANDLORDS BEWARE - I put my buy to let flat on with Chancellors. I was (in my opinion) mislead into signing a "sole-agency" agreement with them. In the small print it said I cannot advertise my property with another agent for 52 weeks regardless of if Chancellors find me a tenant. Chancellors did not have 1 single viewing for my property in 4 weeks. I told them I wanted to take it off with them and they said I couldn't - this is when the sole agency agreement stuff became clear. Another local agent found 3 tenants all for asking price within 1 week of having the property. Although Chancellors have an office it Kidlington they don't seem to know the area/prices well. I was presented with a bill of 1 years fees for around £1300 along with threats of legal action. I had to pay this fee even though they didn't find any tenant for the property or risk the hassle of legal action. Will not be dealing with them - not friendly, professional or understanding (even though I have had a good relationship and used them in the past).

Still waiting for our deposit ... We’ve been waited for 20 days after we requested, and it’s already been 30 days after we checked out. Usually it should be returned to tenants within 10 days!
Staffs was nice when we were face to face, but what takes you so long to return our money?

Despite numerous and ongoing requests for this office to stop contacting us, they refuse to take us off their contacts. They have been harassing us for years trying to get us to rent or sell our property through them. if and when we need an agent we will definitely not use Chancellors. Nick Sampson has been particularly rude and persistent.

They will do what they can to get your instructions and once in the market will try to bring down your asking price. Only had 1 viewing per 2 weeks in average. Weekly calls stopped after a couple of weeks.

I was looking for a small rental property in Oxford and was keen to move to the area. When I contacted Chancellors I spoke to Jordan, he was extremely helpful, honest, and provided lots of useful advice about the properties they had for rent, and other general information about the area. In the end I actually ended up renting a property through another agent as Chancellors didn't have what I was looking for at the time. This aside, as the overall customer experience from Jordan was so good, I felt it was necessary to leave a positive review.

Still calling me after I moved house 3 years ago despite asking them to stop ringing me! Almost amounts to harassment. Use anyone but them!

Still having problems and nuisance calls. Tried to use the chat line to get them to stop and proves impossible. If you want to be pestered for the rest of your life, use Chancellors. Other wise stay well clear!!!!!!

I have been working with Chancellors East Oxford branch for nearly five years now managing three different properties. Throughout this time the service has been consistently excellent. The communication has always been clear, prompt and professional. The best thing is the personalised approach, which I haven't come across at other estate agents in Oxford.
