It started great, but after the process started Shai was basically impossible to contact, which is a source of considerable stress because I was basically in the dark until 5 days before the start of the tenancy. I've called the branch so many times, but incredibly there is no one there to pick up. They sometimes call back, but when I say I need to talk to Shai, he is already busy and will call back. Not once has this happened. The only way I could get a response was by emailing the entire branch using the general email address. This is not professional, at all. I hope Chancellors understands that tenants are also customers that deserve professional service, not just the landlords. I will be avoiding Chancellors in the future.

What a diabolical pathetic excuse for office staff they must have now.
Used them years ago for a valuation and TFO.
But they constantly phone and email pestering you with nuisance calls.
"Are you thinking of selling?'
"Are you thinking of renting"
" Do you need a new tenant"
I have told the Kidlington office in writing, verbally and email, to stop calling me, it's very inconvenient, I work mostly overseas.
But no, they continue to phone me and when I block the number, they use the fax machine number or a cell phone.
WILL NEVER USE AGAIN.

We had a long and productive discussion with Anthony McCabe, the Senior Sales Manager who advised us the best price level to market our property to attract maximum interest. Over the period that the property was with Chancellors, we achieved in excess of 7,000 website views and five viewings. Regrettably the economic downturn has meant that interest has since diminished.
We were very impressed with everyone at Chancellors; all were willing to go the extra mile to accommodate our requests, especially Anthony whose hands-on approach, attention to detail and conscientious attitude filled us with confidence. We would highly recommend Chancellors Kidlington.

Not possible to give zero stars. Lettings negotiators are able to provide false information on which to base tenancy contracts and then refuse to acknowledge that the agreements have been put in place based on misinformation. Property fully managed by chancellors and yet left in a state of disrepair, if only the landlord knew all the information. Absolutely do not use.

We feel that they really know us and that our most valuable financial asset is important to them. They take the time to ensure we have high quality tenants and that the property is well cared for and maintained. They work so well as a team and ensure that if one is on leave the other is their to cover, this is so very much appreciated. Their knowledge on the local area and the rental market is second to none, they know all the stats and figures and gives us incredible confidence in their advice. Tennants beware! We've waited over 4 weeks for an update on our deposit since vacating one of their properties. This was delayed because our landlords had conveniently gone on holiday.
Chancellors have since responded and are currently trying to take £800+ in "maintenance costs". They didn't even send a breakdown or an itemised bill of these costs. It's another thing we've had to chase.
They want a brand new toilet! A new bath panel! The house wasn't even that great of shape when we first moved in. There has been no deliberate damage caused to this property and after two years they should allow wear and tear. The things listed are very minor but are charging a small fortune.
As tenants we don't feel as though we have any support from Chancellor's. We'll probably have to go through TDS of any chance of seeing our money back which will only drag out longer.
This is a time where we need this money more than ever. We looked after this home as if it were our own and left it in the best possible condition we could. It was not perfect to start with and these charges are completely unreasonable. Please avoid.

I can definitely recommend the Chancellors in Kidlington if you are looking to rent in the area. They were very friendly, extremely helpful, and provided constant updates. We received far better service here than any other agent we tried, and can especially recommend them if you're having trouble finding a pet-friendly property, as they definitely go the extra mile to help you out. Stay away. Very poor communication and service levels with many changing people involved during the tenancy process, none of whom take any kind of responsibility or properly communicate with each other. We have used them on and off for a number of years and seen a steep decline in service levels over this period. In the interests of transparency, we are currently involved in a dispute with them over their lack of due diligence and care.

Wanted to update since my last review, i had as stated before emailed Chancellors Kidlington letting them know it was important and essential for them to let me know the landlords decision before 16th March, they left it too late but still took the first weeks rent. I went to citizens advice and they told me that chancellor's had no right to take the first months rent given that the contract didnt go through. They refuse to return this money , i would avoid them at all costs . I would highly recommend Alistair Redhouse instead for Quality Customer Service and professionalism.
Tried to rent a house they took 6 weeks to finalise anything . They kept losing the paper work and i had 4 different members of staff within the time i dealt with them as staff had walked out. They werent professional and there quality of service was quite inadequate. I ended up having to pull out as the lanlord couldnt be reached and chancellor's never kept me informed unless i called them.

LANDLORDS BEWARE - I put my buy to let flat on with Chancellors. I was (in my opinion) mislead into signing a "sole-agency" agreement with them. In the small print it said I cannot advertise my property with another agent for 52 weeks regardless of if Chancellors find me a tenant. Chancellors did not have 1 single viewing for my property in 4 weeks. I told them I wanted to take it off with them and they said I couldn't - this is when the sole agency agreement stuff became clear. Another local agent found 3 tenants all for asking price within 1 week of having the property. Although Chancellors have an office it Kidlington they don't seem to know the area/prices well. I was presented with a bill of 1 years fees for around £1300 along with threats of legal action. I had to pay this fee even though they didn't find any tenant for the property or risk the hassle of legal action. Will not be dealing with them - not friendly, professional or understanding (even though I have had a good relationship and used them in the past).

They have been harassing us for years trying to get us to rent or sell our property through them. if and when we need an agent we will definitely not use Chancellors. Nick Sampson has been particularly rude and persistent.

Absolutely diabolical service that we have had from Chancellors completely utterly wasted our time, money and belief.
Firstly it has taken over a year and still no completion due to the seller pulling out ok you can say this bad luck or just incompetency from the agent part. Buyer requested to change solicitors, then some documents got lost, then they are struggling with funds. Then they are on holiday and needed to apply for a mortgage. Time after time just been giving us the around. We then instructed we will be changing agents and requested the property to be removed from all advertisements 2 months on the advertisement is still active.
If anyone is considering seller, buying or rent stay clear of using Chancellors.

Experience from a relative that had dealing with Chancellors Kidlington also we have used Chancellors in Bicester in the past.
Perhaps this is major big agent but not the only estate in Kidlington however they don’t seem to have a sense of urgency to get things done and to give professional advice. They would prefer only to reply when it’s suits them.

The 5* rating is for the staff at the Kidlington office.
Cameron, the manager, has been very helpful in facilitating our purchase.
Ryan who showed us round two properties has a natural flair for his job.
His manner is calm, friendly yet professional, and helpful. He summed up very quickly how we wanted to view and was a knowledgeable, quiet presence, always ready to comment or advise if asked, but content to let us look round and take in the properties. We were given as much time as we needed and we never felt rushed. His personable manner created an atmosphere that made our viewings a positive experience and we ended up putting in an offer on one of the properties!
From the point of view of the company’s policy, rather than their staff, although we have been told that viewings are paused once a property is under offer, to leave it not marked as such, so that it looks as though it is still available, leaves us rather nervous about the security of our position.
We are hopeful that the staff we have met, and those in the sales progression team, can help us bring our purchase to a successful conclusion!

I would be wary of using Chancellors. Their representative was professional and pleasant and the valuation they gave was good but after deciding to go with a rival estate agent, I received numerous phone calls asking me to justify why I didn't ultimately go with them and asking when my "contract" with the rival estate agents ran out. I found this part utterly unprofessional and stressful.

DON'T LET THEM TIE YOU INTO A 24 WEEK CONTRACT. They will spin you a good story but the experience of these agents is limited and their customer service extremely poor. Do they sell your house? No they do not, they just tag along - don't waste your money go to another agent in Kidlington.
Also, read the Terms & Conditions they will tie you into a 6 month agreement without pointing this out to you in the first place and you are stuck with their inefficiency for 24 weeks. I am surprised that they are still trading in Kidlington. The staff constantly changing with no fluidity of sales, they may look the part, but they are not.

I Arranged a viewing and was shown around by one of the agents. It was refreshing to have an enthusiastic and keen agent that not only 'listened' but took great care in trying to ascertain what I was looking for as an investment property. Oliver Marsland rocks! He turned our house sale round in less than three months (and it wasn't the most desirable of houses!).
The whole service has been slick, smooth and worry free. Nothing was too much trouble. If there is an employee of the month award, then he should be put forward. I would definitely use him (and Nick his colleague and the ladies in the office) again for a first class service at a good price.

Liam Jones at Chancellors in Kidlington was helping me to search for an apartment. At the meeting he took me and my partner to his car, and then brought us around to see several properties. While doing this he was extremely pleasant, and very good presenting the local environment to us.
After the viewings, Liam showed extreme professionalism, as he suggested a landlord to lower the monthly fee in order to get a very good candidate tenant. This showed a rare understanding of how the market works and how to make the final agreement between landlord and tenant as easy as possibly.

Liam Jones at Chancellors in Kidlington was extremely helpful. I am moving from France with my husband and kids and I spoke to him over the phone, telling him what I wanted in terms of space, what I liked in terms of atmosphere and how much I was able to spend and he gave me lot of advice abut different areas, including but not at all limited to Kidlington. He put me in touch with the agents from other relevant branches as well.
On his advice, I waited until early July to come over and visit places and when I made the trip, he took me to 4 different propeties in the space of a couple of hours and they all fitted the bill and were better options than any I saw with other agencies during my 3 day visit. One of the 4 was perfect. I travelled back to France and we were able to secure it and do the paper work at a distance with minimal effort.
