8th Sep 2026 (9 days ago)I'm taking the time to edit this here, as I said to the assistant letting manager today after chatting about the earlier review.<br><br>Update: It was good to meet in person and get clarification.<br><br>To add some context, I went to the agency to receive some support, and as I entered the office, I asked for the assistant letting manager as they were involved in our Tenant Switch process. The person in question was super helpful explaining the concept of group of landlords, which can sometimes make the process a little longer - that is something I completely understand now. Thank you.<br><br>Finally, the assistant letting manager after supporting me, asked me about the one-star review I had left (see below) and took the time to explain to me they were on annual leave and hadn't been told about the calls received from us.<br><br>They really tried to get to the bottom of this and to understand who had tried to direct us in the meantime. I apologized for our lack of awareness and actually felt sorry that they had to come back to these more emotionally-charged requests, when it was actually the admin team process that took a very long time to handle everything.<br><br>The conclusion is that we are back on track with a reliable person who showed great patience and care to keep us happy and feel respected and heard :) I'm leaving this new score even not a high one for how the episode had been handled when the person was on annual leave and "callbacks before eod" that were overpromised by others (when it wasn't actually possible). It was much better to have full transparency, thank you and all the best!<br><br>First review:<br><br>After no reply and us chasing for a month and not getting callbacks when we were told we would ( 7 times ), we get the most unapologetic email back from assistant lettings manager. It just makes one feel treated like dogs who are begging for the simplest professional treatment. I had to insist and insist on one last phone call to say how worried we were, and that we didn’t mind coming to the branch in person if it helped, in order to be taken seriously.<br><br>We really hope that other SF tenants who have been put in the hands of the assistant letting manager in question will receive better and more humane support.
1st Sep 2026 (16 days ago)Outstanding is the only word I can use with regards to my experience of Carter Jonas. From the moment of registering and applying to view properties, their service has been perferctly coordinated, communicated and executed. From prompt responses to requests done on-line which most Agents appear to ignore, to keeping you informed and actually trying to work for you, Carter Jonas professionalism in today's market makes them top leaders in my opinion.<br><br>I would like to personally thank Jenna Bugler, for prompt responce, progress with requests, viewings, documentation and backgroungs checks help. We had the most difficult case of financial checks approach for Ukrainian refugees that escaped from the war zone, and Jennas approach was quick, professional and very helpful. I am very thankful for all effort, help and willingness to go an extra mile with their customers.<br><br>We also have Billy who is looking after us and helping with any issues that sometimes appeat in the house. I cannot thank her enough for coordinating and finding right people in the short period of time to deal with any type of emergencies or issues.<br><br>Thank you team!

He has been approachable, patient, professional, and incredibly responsive throughout the entire process.<br><br>After showing us the first property, James understood exactly what we were looking for. In a very short period of time, he managed to find and show us a second property that matched our requirements to perfection. We immediately knew it was the right one for us!<br><br>Since then, James has continued to be there every step of the way, supporting us throughout the entire process, including liaising and communicating with solicitors and helping to keep everything moving forward.<br><br>Today, we are on the verge of completion, and we genuinely couldn't be happier with James' role in making this journey such a positive experience.<br><br>Thank you, James, for all your hard work, patience, and dedication. Still no progress.<br>Connells still hold onto the deposit without cause or explanation.<br><br>Are Connells in financial difficulties?<br>Is that the reason they are failing to return security deposits?<br><br>Are Connells going bancrupt?<br>.................................<br>3. Update late July 26...<br>Avoid, go anywhere else but here.<br><br>Still without good cause they have yet to return the tenants deposit. What an outfit. Why would anyone permit them to hold someones deposit?!!!<br>............................<br>Avoid, go anywhere else but here.<br><br>2. Update July 26.....<br>Then to confirm the lack of professional standards employed, they unilaterally cease control of the Tenants Security Deposit & refuse to hand it back without cause. What an outfit. Incompetent, deceitful, money grabbing sharks.<br><br>1. What an unpleasant experience dealing with these people. Started well enough when they were selling something but rapidly fell apart when had to perform.<br>Local staff blindly followed the single company line making a mockery of their "bespoke service to landlords", then exceeded their brief & authority & finally overcharged.<br><br>Clearly a ridged centrally controlled business unable to trust local staff who were found to be lacking in understanding, experiance & customer awareness.- 4th Sep 2026 (13 days ago)I would like to say a huge thank you to Sherko for all his hard work in selling my house in just 2 weeks!<br><br>Sherko was professional, friendly, extremely helpful and always kept me updated throughout the process. 13th Jul 2026 (9 weeks ago)My partner and I had decided to put our house on the market, potentially moving to a bigger house. Doing our due diligence, we made a decision to get four different Real Estate Agencies to visit, so we could also gauge the professionalism and expertise of various agents.<br><br>Somebody had suggested that we should also give Jessica, the owner of this company, to evaluate our home too. Three different real estate agencies sent their reps to evaluate our home, give us their terms, and provide us with written documents of what they were able to do for us. We gave Jessica the same opportunity. When Jessica arrived, we noticed that even prior to looking at our house, she had written down a figure representing the value of our home! My partner and I were surprised that how could she evaluate our home even prior to looking at it! Anyway, Jessica was very friendly and presentable, talked to us about her services and what she was willing to do for us. This is exactly the same as other agents had done, except, the other agents provided us with a figure value after examining the house, and seeing all the improvements that we had made to our home.<br><br>As we had done with the other agents, we asked Jessica to email us with all the information that she had verbally presented. Jessica agreed to do so. However, Jessica was the only real estate agent, amongst the four, that never followed up with any information upon her departure!<br><br>We were quite disappointed with the fact that, how could someone, who considered themselves as an experienced agent, simply evaluate a house based on what other houses in the area had sold! We believe that Jessica came up with that conclusion solely based on the square footage of the house, regardless of all the improvements and modernization that had been made to the house!! Similarly, not providing us with a follow up, as she had promised, was a major disappointment.<br><br>I am glad that we decided not to employ Amilies state agents. Apart from Jessica‘s polite mannerism, I could not recommend this agency.

30th Aug 2026 (18 days ago)I went to rent a house from this agency in Heddington, the agents are very deceitful and try to force you to pay 0 deposit scheme and then they force you to take out insurance to your personal belongings, they lie that owner doesn't accept without something like that, when I wanted to pay full deposit, he just wants to scam you to make you pay monthly fees and to avoid pay full deposit. I applied to three houses, of which he told me they rejected me, but I applied that I didn't want a zero deposit and I didn't want insurance, they called me, talked to us on the phone for five minutes and suggested that it would be better to put in a zero deposit offer and The insurance and I told them that I was convinced to pay the deposit that I would get it back at the end of the rent they said ok I will send your offer to lanlord and in less than two minutes after I hang up the phone he sent me an email that the lord refused my offer. lying to make you pay extra for their company month after month insurance and zero deposit that.with other companies you pay a certain amount as insurance and that's it, not with them you have to pay month by month, I don't recommend the most fraudulent agency

It has been a challenging task but the team never let go of the job and eventually it paid off. Also Nicky arranged a private sale of a cottage in the Village that will suit our needs very well. Our thanks to Nicky and her team for a job well done.

Katie handled all of it with patience and clarity, explained exactly what was needed at each stage, and kept things moving when it would have been easier to give up on us. Communication was excellent throughout, despite an eight-hour time difference. We're very grateful, and would recommend her without hesitation.
- 13th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)We have been with Chancellors since 2022 and the service has been consistently unacceptable. Despite paying for full management, our tenants repeatedly contacted us directly because Chancellors simply did not respond to them. We were effectively managing the property ourselves while still paying Chancellors for a service they were not providing.<br>In 2024, our tenants moved out while we were abroad due to a family bereavement. Our neighbour alerted us that the bins were overflowing and, shockingly, the property doors had been left open. We tried contacting Chancellors urgently, only to be told it was the checkout agency’s fault — an agency they themselves appointed.<br>When new tenants moved in (while we were still away), we asked Chancellors to downgrade our service to basic rent collection only. Once we returned, the new tenants showed us the condition the previous tenants had left behind:<br>Lawn stripped and replaced with artificial grass without our consent<br>Nails on walls inside the house<br>Missing blinds and curtains<br>Bins left overflowing, which the new tenants had to clean themselves<br>When we raised this with Chancellors, we were told they “don’t manage the property anymore” — despite the fact that the previous tenancy WAS managed. After weeks of being passed from department to department, we were told the Deposit Replacement Scheme wouldn’t pay anything because more than 30 days had passed. The delay was entirely caused by Chancellors’ internal confusion and lack of ownership. Only one helpful staff member, Kwesi, escalated the issue and we received around £100 — nowhere near the actual cost of the damage.<br>During the 2025 renewal, we clearly stated we did NOT want DRS and were not charged. Now, during the 2026 renewal, Chancellors have suddenly deducted DRS for 2025 and are demanding “proof” of the agreement — even though their own staff confirmed it at the time.<br>Trying to reach the property manager has become impossible. No calls returned for over a week, emails ignored despite CC’ing multiple staff. Today, a staff member told us the property manager “doesn’t want to speak to us because we shouted at her.” This is completely false — she has never once returned our calls, so shouting at her would be impossible.<br>Her email now claims she has “no record” of the DRS agreement and insists we provide proof, while refusing to address the late rent queries or the ongoing service failures.<br>The service is chaotic, unprofessional, and deeply frustrating. Departments contradict each other, no one takes responsibility, and we are left to deal with the consequences every single time. After years of mismanagement, negligence, and financial errors, we simply want to terminate our contract and move our property elsewhere.
