5 stars for a 5 star service
Nothing was to much trouble for Lisa and Colin they did all the hard work to sell my business, nothing was to much trouble, lisa went above and beyond to see the process through. Kept us informed throughout and did all the chasing throughout the complicated process of selling a business. 1st class service thanks Lisa and Colin.
Anyone wanting to rent from Broomheads in Church Street we recommend you dont. As our Daughter has experienced a nightmare recently July 2016. She paid fees and waiting for a reference from her Father's works after telling her they won't let the house go, a week went by only to find they let it to someone else leaving our Daughter out of pocket.
Excellent Team .
Friendly reliable service , always kept in touch .. highly recommended !
AVOID Lytham estate agents. One of the staff (I didn't get her name) is extremely blunt and rude. I had an offer accepted on a house. Left the country over bank holiday. Never checked my email. When got back c,hecked it and they said that since I didn't have a solicitor in place in this very short time, the vendor has taken another offer!? They didn't even have the courtesy to phone me to inform me of this. Again. AVOID.
Thank you for responding. But this is untrue. I spoke to a man from your office in Ireland and explained to him exactly when I would be back and when I would be getting a solicitor. He said this was not a problem. He was very polite. This was around the bank holiday weekend. That means that it took only four working days, after this, to repeal the offer, due to no solicitor in place! I understand that if a vendor decides to withdraw an offer then it is out of your hands. But I do not believe that you fought my corner. You were most likely just concerned with making a sale. That is fine and understandable. But, there should be a much higher level of good faith, especially after I explained that I was a first time buyer, and after all the effort in negotiating a price, that was certainly not shown here. The one star is for this.
After another agent had failed to find a tenant for me after 4 months I approached Entwistle Green. Within 2 weeks a new tenant had moved into the property.
Excellent service from Louise and Emily. I couldn’t have asked for more.
Some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. We were trying to rent a house through them but failed after lots of mixed messages. The most frustrating thing was that over a period of two weeks I had to do all of the chasing - they never called back once. It really felt like their attitude was that they were doing me a favour. I’m not normally one to write reviews, especially negative ones, but felt compelled to share my experience of Entwistle Green in Preston.
Both Ky and Katie were very helpful, had great knowledge and were friendly towards me from the very first contact. They were able to answer all of the questions about the property I was interested in, they sorted out a lawyer for me to use and helped me to arrange the finance I needed to buy.
The process was very streamlined, easy to navigate and took always all of my stress and concerns and at each point, Katie pointed me in the right direction.
I would without a doubt recommend, and could not be more thankful for the help and support in getting me into my first business of my very own.
Under no circumstances sell your business with Hilton Smythe. We made the unfortunate decision to sign a six month contract with them back in February this year to sell our shop. A valuer visited us and told us that if we paid so much upfront, they'd be no more fee's to pay and if the shop wasn't sold within six months we could simply pull it off the market or go with someone else. It was originally marketed and valued at £50,000.
Initially we had a lot of interest and a sale looked likely. Then lockdown happened three weeks into the shop being advertised and all went quiet until late July, early August. Barely anything from Hilton Smythe. This we had expected due to the circumstances. In the meantime, the shop has been open and trading extremely well. Then come early August, we start being messed around by the agent. Suddenly and without any warning another agent has taken over and is arranging viewings with people who are not properly vetted. We're let down at the last minute by people who don't show up. We then reduce the price of our business in an effort to sell quicker, even then the agents kept calling with offer's well below the new asking price and when we turned them all down, we were made to feel like we're the ones being unreasonable and as though we should just accept any offer.
Low and behold, we have decided to take our business off the market. Our contract ran out on August 2nd, therefore we are now out of contract. But... Hilton Smythe have stated that we have to give them six weeks notice for them to take our business off the market and in this time, we must accept viewings else we are liable for a fee of almost £3,000! We only received an actual copy of our contract, the day we gave Hilton Smythe our notice, which was two days ago. Yesterday, emails were flying back and forth between Myself and the agency over yet another no show.
Hilton Smythe have become bullies and will stoop to any depths. They're not on the sellers side, the very people paying them and they will send anyone, unvetted, to waste your time on the promise of a sale. No matter how hard you try to get out of it, they will use 'the contract' against you. Do expect a level of stress that will drive you to the brink of a nervous breakdown and if you have a decent business, expect it to be adversely affected by bogus buyers phoning them and then you being forced into showing such people around! I urge anyone thinking of selling a business, go elsewhere. I wish I had seen some of these reviews back in February.
