10th Jul 2026 (24 days ago)About time I left a review after being with Northwood for 3 years!...and I'm leaving this review as a Landlord that has rental properties with them.<br><br>I've previously been with 3 of the 'big boys'...Shipways, Dixons and John Shepherd. The difference between them and Northwood is ridiculous. Yes, you will probably pay a lower Management fee with the big boys, but with them you DO NOT get the attention to detail, the personal attention, the speed of response, the reasonable contractor fees, the one point of contact etc etc. The list is endless. I used to tear my hair out with Dixons!<br><br>Not only that but with Northwood you don't get all the add on fees that Dixon's etc charge. It's most definitely worth paying them a slightly higher %.<br><br>In addition, I hardly get any contentious situations or complaints from tenants, so that means they're happy as well.<br><br>I would URGE anyone who's with the massive decentralised, non-personal Letting Agencies to try a smaller one...like Northwood.

25th Aug 2025 (11 mo. ago)If I could give zero stars, I would. The management did not deliver on anything they promised when they took on my property. Poor communication, lack of transparency, and no sense of responsibility made the whole process frustrating and stressful. I would not recommend this estate agent to anyone looking to sell – they caused more problems than they solved.
22nd Jul 2026 (12 days ago)Carl Hemming – ‘Former Principal of Ginger Estate Agents’ ‘Your Local Property Agent Consultant at Martin & Co Solihull’<br><br>Our experience with Carl Hemming has been extremely disappointing and has resulted in significant financial loss, stress and emotional turmoil for our family.<br><br>We accepted an offer from Carl Hemming’s parents in November after being told the sale was “cast iron” and, based on that reassurance, we were encouraged to cancel further viewings. Unfortunately, seven months later the sale had still not progressed to exchange.<br><br>During this period we received regular assurances that matters were progressing and that exchange was imminent. Acting on those updates, we incurred substantial costs for surveys, legal fees and searches on the property we intended to purchase. In the end, the transaction failed, leaving us in a very difficult position.<br><br>It is our opinion that a genuinely independent estate agent would not have recommended accepting this offer in the circumstances, and certainly would have advised us to consider remarketing the property much earlier once it became clear that progress had stalled. We were left feeling that we had no independent guidance or realistic assessment of the situation.<br><br>We are also concerned about what we believe to be a potential conflict of interest arising from the relationship between the buyer and the estate agent, and we have submitted a formal complaint asking for this to be investigated. We are also seeking independent legal advice regarding the matter.<br><br>Perhaps most disappointing of all was the complete lack of any meaningful communication or apology after the sale collapsed. In our experience, both Carl Hemming and Martin & Co Solihull failed to provide the level of professionalism, transparency and customer care that we expected.<br><br>Based on our experience, we would strongly recommend not using Carl Hemming at all.
